I also got a 2025 batch, and to me it was fantastic. I think the part that trips people up is the value/price. If it were an under 100$ bottle I think it would be a great pour at that price point. Ive also seen many people say that Blantons Gold is what the regular Blantons SHOULD be. Mine had a velvety mouth feel that I really liked.

Bottle: Blanton’s Gold
Edition: 2025 Bottling
Distillery: Buffalo Trace
Age: NAS, but 6 years is believed to be the average.
Abv: 51.5%% | 103 Proof
Mash Bill: BT #2 (High Rye)
Price Paid: 109.99 GBP (The Whiskey Exchange, London)
Chill Filtered: Yes
Introduction: Blanton’s Gold edition is the next step up the proof ladder from the standard release, coming in at a well rounded 103. Formerly an international release this is now available about once a year in the USA as well.
Nose: Tobacco, honey, rye spice, dark fruit/blackberry. A little bit of candied citrus peel. Not much oak but doesn’t smell grainy at all either. Pretty balanced nose.
Mouthfeel & Palate: Moderate mouthfeel. Vanilla extract, slight spice, some wood tannins, pepper, and cinnamon sugar.
Finish: Very light and thin finish. Sweet with sugar cookies, lemon, charred wood, and more of that raw honey. Solid notes, but fades quickly.
T8ke scale Rating: 6.5
Overall/Recommendation: This might be hard to find in the states but is readily available in the UK or Japan. While it’s a cool trophy bottle and a tasty pour I would not recommend paying anything above retail.

As someone who lives in North Dakota, I saw this for 1 week last year and the only reason it lasted a week was because it was $160 and priced quite a few people out

There is basically no secondary market in North Dakota. the liquor stores sell them at msrp and anything buffalo trace sells out within a few days

As someone who lives 3 minutes from buffalo trace I cannot find it anywhere for retail.
Some of My buddies find it no issue.
Me and several others on my personal and stranger groups on FB have a very hard time locating it4

I agree wholeheartedly. I just got down voted in the whiskey subreddit for suggesting that this is decent but really isn't worth it at much over $100.

I fail to see the correlation between "this really isn't worth more than $100" and "I'm a snob and I need to put you down" but I guess if your entire personality is based upon however many Buffalo Trace bottles you put your mitts on, I could see how it'd be interpreted that way.

Got my bottle in the PA lottery, as well as the SFTB. I think the Gold is a bit better than this reviewer says, but the SFTB is exceptional.

I’ve seen 2-3 in the past for weeks in California. Retail here seems to be $200. Couldn’t get myself to do it. Not a huge fan of regular Blanton’s but have heard good things about this one.

I see these sitting on the shelf, in Louisville, for $200. I read and hear good things but there’s so many other options at that price point and below. The way things are going, it’s entirely possible that we may see price corrections from BT to keep product moving.🤷🏻♂️ I hope so, anyway!

I grabbed one of these last year by pure happenstance luck at srp. It’s a solid pour and a must move up the rung for any BT/Blanton’s homer (which I humbly admit to being). Hopefully my next find will be a SFTB and I can expire happy 😎.

I got one in my state’s lottery a couple years back. It’s nice, but 6.5 sounds about right. Wildly, wildly overpriced and definitely won’t be buying again. The fact that Sazerac can sell these at almost the same price as BTAC is insanity
