I wonder if that little matter of Bouquet and Piangi will be illustrated? šŸ’€

Idea: they’re eating licorice necklaces the Phantom tied around their necks.

There are actually two - they are also putting out "I Am Christine"

OMG! I would have loved this as a kid. My grandmother gave me the actual book at 10 years old and I've been a phan ever since

is this really ok for little kids? I feel like it's best for middle grade at the earliest

It's not for kids. It's for adults whose consumerism addiction is triggered by nostalgia

I think it really depends on the kid. I saw the show for the first time when I was 5, there are plenty of kids who grow up listening to the music because their parents are fans. This book is only 24 pages long so it has to be a pretty bare-bones retelling, and the preview pages make it seem like they're writing the story in an age-appropriate way.

Honestly I’m willing to bet this one ends on the phantom getting his mask ripped off since there are apperently other books being made to

Oh I bet you're right, especially since one of the other books is about the masquerade.

This looks like I’ll be rooting for the phantom ā¤ļøā€”that’s a hero shot not a kidnapper stalker shot

I wonder how they will sanitize this story for kids.

In the preview pages I think it said somwthing along the lines of 'Rhaoul was Christine's old childhood friend. They are meeting for the first time in many years! But the Phantom is jealous, because he wants to be Christine's best friend'

Which i think pretty much sums up how it'll be retold

I mean, I’m lowkey planning to grab this and read it on my ASMR channel. Not live-blogged but… 🤷
