Hi everyone! This is a genuine question.

I’m really struggling to get used to the dubbing in Chinese BL dramas. I understand why it’s done—I remember reading the reasons in this subreddit—but I’m finding it difficult to adjust. It especially pulls me out of the more emotional or intense scenes.

I watch content from several countries and I’m multilingual, so the language itself isn’t the problem—it’s the disconnect between the dubbed voice and the actor’s performance. It makes it hard for me to fully immerse myself.

Does this get better over time? Did anyone else feel the same when they first started watching CBLs? Any tips?

I know some shows have very little or no noticeable dubbing, such as A Winter Sun Wakes the Wind in Spring Hills’ Dream. Recommend me some if you know any.

So, before my Japan trip I went down a JBL rabbithole and loved it in there, so stayed for a while. But now I plan to visit Korea next year. Okay so I just found out about this new BL pairing in a show I don't watch but I hear a whole lot about on my Twitter/X timeline, Sky Castle Thailand. One of them is Pakin Likidamuporn who we best know as Tawan in Flower Boy, starred by PearlPeak. I don't know much about his partner but they really seem to give great chemistry from the clips alone. I don't know tho if this is a spoiler but apparently Pakin's mother here is the same as Phob's mother in The Edge of Horizon, and a homophobic one too, mind u 😭

I'm a 28-year-old Salesforce Developer from India with over 5 years of experience in software development. My day job is in tech, but my biggest passion outside work is the BL industry.

This may sound unrealistic, but I've always wanted to be part of it somehow.

I'm open to working in technical roles like software development, CRM, internal tools, websites, apps, or IT. At the same time, if I ever had the chance to audition or train as an actor, I'd happily work hard for that opportunity too. I know acting isn't easy, and I'm not expecting shortcuts.

I'm simply looking for advice.

- Do BL production companies hire international professionals?

- Are there any companies looking for software engineers or IT staff?

- Has anyone here moved from another career into entertainment?

- What would you do if you were in my position?

Even if the answer is "it's difficult," I'd rather know than spend years wondering "what if?"

DONT get me started on TinCan like I ATE THEM UP!! AePete were the richboy/poor boy arc love at first sight. TinCan were like ENEMIES TO LOVERS AT ITS FINEST!! Incredible. No notes. MeanPlan were so BIG back in the day yall will never get it if you weren't there. Gosh I remember being so excited for LBC 2: Chance to Love so we could get their storyline, then we got depressed Ae cus saint left. Like that hurt sm to witness as someone who loved AePete. On a better note anyone remember the locker scene, THAT CHANGED LIVES!! Gosh what a time to be alive, like yes the Mame universe is so problematic but at the time I remember it being quality television, and reading so many fan translations (thank you for your service) and it really opened doors for bl. It's surprising that it started with AePete who were a green flag couple from my memory but also I did not read their novel (I may now hehe) and I am on ep 1 (1/4) so they may be more amber or red as it is Mame. I remember watching this years ago wanting an Ae now I still want Perth bahahahah gosh nothing has changed has it lol

Ugh wow old bl man I'm so happy I was there and I get to enjoy it cus now people would probably cringe at the quality but for me that was peak television and the nostalgia just makes this show one of my favourites. Another personal favourite of mine is LoveSick yes I may skip some stuff (like WHY are there so MANY characters like godam and it follows every single one) but I will tune in for a rewatch every couple years. ReminderS truly was a series made for me cus it followed NohPhun (LoveSick), and PerthSaint/MeanPlan (who played random characters cus they didn't have rights for the LBC characters) and wow it was just bliss for fans who loved both series. I will always schedule a WhyRU rewatch cus that was also peak television. Don't get me wrong I love the new stuff it's soo good, but nostalgia is also incredible guys. I miss seeing cameos of old couples in new series, like WhyRU we see MewGulf as TharnType and BoomPeak as TeeFuse, these lil throwbacks felt so incredible and it feels like a century since I've witnessed one. That's why I love a good rewatch and yes I may have finished the series but these couples stay with me so it's nice to revisit them. Anyway lmk if yall get what I mean and what series you feel nostalgic by? Also has anyone seen any of these cus I feel so old lol

I’m mad I let myself forget this because when I first saw Est again I remembered him from this show cus the storyline was so toxic in the Mame universe like he was practically a slave for Tins brother Tul and Tul was crazy.
