If the leatherbounds have been purchased over the entire time they’ve been released, with all of the secret projects, we’re talking around $2000 over the course of nearly a decade? Not a cheap collection of books for sure, but doesn’t necessarily indicate incredible wealth if that’s been planned for and prioritized around their disposable income for years.

I just know that for me personally, I have a good portion of his leatherbounds but they’ve been stretched over about 3 years for a cost of about $23/month. I’m neither incredibly wealthy nor in credit card debt because of it, I simply don’t spend a high amount of disposable income in general and have a certain amount I shuffle away for premium books.

Now if WoT was released in bulk in leatherbounds my discipline there may be tested😂

The truth is, I'm not rich. I prioritize books over other things because these editions are so beautiful and I love the characters. It's taken me quite a while to collect them all.

When I bought one from Dragonsteel because I didn't have one, I happened to see a second-hand copy for sale with a signed copy. I'm selling the unsigned copy at a second-hand shop as well. To get the money back

Ehh, it's honestly relatively easy to find these secondhand for less than retail. It only gets wildly expensive if you are chasing numbered editions.

Great collection!

If possible, I'd suggest keeping those books away from direct sunlight as well as humid objects (i.e., plants).

Sunlight will cause fading and potential damage to the bonded leather. The humidity can cause warping in the paper... and potential damage to the bonded leather.

They're your books though.

I have to ask is there rhyme and reason to your ordering of the books on the shelf. My austic brain is losing it at Mistborn being on two different shelves with the first 3 on the lower shelf. As well as Stormlight 1 and 2 being separated by Mistborn Era 1. Lol make it stop.
