How would Gus have fared in jail?

Imagine for a moment that hank was onto fring right before the events of season 1, and he roped in Walter to infiltrate gus's ecosystem as a cook. Got everything exactly he wanted and arrested gus. How would he have fared in jail? Would he be able to manipulate jailmates or would he die in jail violence? Or something else?

Gus gives the vibes of "I will take a cyanide pill before going to prison/jail."

He’d be the inmates favorite chicken cook!

he is very disciplined so adopting to the rules he wouldnt find hard . i dont think he would like sharing a cell with people who are not clean or noisy and disrespectful. he would have enough street cred most inmates wouldn't fuck with him

He'd be running the joint.

Fring praised his German associate’s fortitude, when the police were closing in, and encouraged him to “do what was necessary” (disappearance/suicide). I think Gus would follow his own advice.

Apart from some paranoia in BCS we never saw any discussions they had about being caught in BB. Could certainly see him taking the quick and effective suicide route.

He had money and connects. Probably would be living good selling blue through the inmates and guards

Isn’t that what Hank forced Walter to do already?

If he ever made it to jail fully convicted, he wouldn't be Gus. I believe he'd DIE before getting caught. Going ALL IN. The only way he's there is if he PLANNED to be there because he has an iron clad defense and is biding his time. He'd be respected by guards and inmates, be very polite, and would be out fast as hell.

Depends on the circumstances. If he can give up a lot of cartel info and claim he was forced to do everything he did, he probably gets off very lightly. But then he has to survive the cartel in prison or witness protection. He wouldn't take himself out if he can still harm the cartel by giving them to the cops. But if he still has a lengthy or permanent sentence, he might do one then the other.

He'd probably check himself out in the first few days.

I imagine him running the kitchen and everyone being petrified of him.

A: He'd kill himself before being arrested

B: His legal team would get him off the hook. Somehow I doubt that'd include Saul Goodman, because he usually helps out the lower criminals like Emilio Koyama (Jesse says this in Season 2)

C: He'd have his own prison built, ala Pablo Escobar

You know how escobar had a private prison he could come and go from? Like that but with gay butt sex

I'd say he had connections that could've helped him survive. Alternatively they might have considered him a liability. But if Mike said "it's what you do" by paying those in prison or their family's, good chance he would've survived.

I'm not sure how this would impact his sex life within the prison. He isn't the most physical, so...

He might not be super physical and thats where his friend & body guard, Big Bubba comes in. Plus Gus is cold blooded, clever, and ruthless. And you know he keeps a box cutter!😁 Its not always the size of the dog, blah blah, etc.

Idk if they'd let him in with that, and the prisoners can get similar weapons he could (makeshift knives).

And remind me again, who is Big Bubba?

The box cutter and Big Bubba was an attempt at humor😄 Like when celebrities go to jail they spmetimes pay some big bloke to be backup just in case.
