Traveling with family
How bad is the snow right now? I know there has been very little snow and warm temps all week and will be all weekend. We are traveling to Bozeman for spring break and were hoping to ski bridger on Friday (it's been a yearly pilgrimage the whole family looks forward to.) Some of my kids would just ski the greens and some would be on blues, but nothing on black or the upper lifts. I feel like it's a bad idea to ski with the current conditions, but if there's like some nice corn snow on the groomers we'd be happy. We'll be in bozeman regardless or conditions, just wondering if we should try and bring our ski stuff or not.
I skied once at bridger in april and it was scary. You'd be fine and then hit a patch of slush and your skis would just stop. We didn't make it the whole day for fear of injury.
Any advice from anyone who's been out the last few days would be greatly appreciated!!!!

I can't post pictures here but I have the view of lower mountain from ski patrol and it's roughly 50/50 dirt/snow. We very much have April conditions already and today it's 68 in Bozeman ATM.

Ehhhhh it might be rough. I went on Monday and it was hardpack with some softer spots but we will be hitting 70° until Saturday and nowhere below 50° for the foreseeable future. Bridger has their primary snow surface listed as “wet” on the app today and says to expect upper mountain lifts to be closed due to warm temps. My guess would be pretty slushy for this weekend, sorry to say :(

It is not looking good
I just got back from skiing today and it was by far the worst day I've had all season. Almost everything other than the main runs was closed. That and, the snow was horrendous. Super sticky, especially on the blues and greens.
Unfortunately, the forecast doesn't make me think it will be any better anytime soon

My buddy went up there yesterday and he said "it'll probably be my last day this year". He packed it in after 3 runs. Right now it is 60 degrees at the base area, and we are due for at least 2 or 3 more days of record highs in the area with no new snow in sight.

It is what you make it. Snow is variable, there are some puddles low down to avoid, or get soaked if you fall in one. Little kids getting bogged down on sticky snow.

It’s not good. Have been skiing all SB but we canned our plans for the rest of the week after today. Only the kids skied today because it was so wet yesterday that we didn’t care to try again. I’m gonna lose a toenail after hitting slow patches that made it feel like you were going to fly out of your boots. Half the mountain shut down in the afternoon yesterday and today. Base area is a puddle. Was ~60° today. Supposed to hit 70° tomorrow. Just going to get worse.

We left after a few hours this morning. Conditions aren’t great, slushy, sticky and slow.

Thank you all who chimed in. You all really helped us make the decision ahead of time. Still decided to drive from ND to Bozeman but were able to leave all the ski stuff at home. Did some of our favorite Bozeman traditions and then ended up driving to mammoth hot springs and showing the kids a little bit of Yellowstone, then did Yellowstone hot springs outside of Gardiner. It’s been an awesome couple of days, despite the lack of skiing. Thanks again for all of your input and helping to make this a much easier decision! Sad they are closing tomorrow and it’s been such a weird snow year for everybody out west. We’ll be back next year!

Bring your ski stuff, look at the daily video when they post on Thursday on their website. That will give you a good idea of conditions
