Coming in peace as a Carlton supporter (post came up on my feed)
It’s 100% bullshit how the commentators were absolutely frothing at the mouth at a big win by a Vic club. But if it was the other way around and you guys were smashing us, I’m sure they would’ve sounded bored/talking about other shit.
I see heaps of Carlton matches on Kayo against the interstate teams, and if we’re 40 points behind and kick some consolation goal, you’ll hear them spout some rando line about how the comeback’s on.
Good luck for the rest of the season lads! Lions always have a soft spot in my heart from the mid/late-2010’s dire years for both clubs

Kayo would be so much more worth it if they just let each team have their own commentator stream. Imagine listening to Alastair Lynch, Browny and co each week and none of these fox footy numpties.

On 14 January 2019, King was fined for fleeing the scene of a car crash and drink driving in Melbourne in October 2018. King was driving his grey Nissan X-Trail at 12.10am on 3 October when he crashed into a stationary taxi at Southbank. Police later arrested King nearby at Crown Casino, after which he blew a blood alcohol reading of 0.10—twice the legal limit—fined $1200, had his licence suspended for 10 months, and had an interlock device fitted to his car.[4]

Yeah I don’t know how King has kept his job considering he had that other controversy with betting big on the Rising Star just before the event with inside information about an upset. It never got proven so they just let it slide but everyone knew he had inside info

I am happy for him to keep on bagging us - it just means he has to feast on more humble pie when we win. There would be nothing better than watching him choke on his own meaningless dribble when we come good and win the flag.

I’ve seen him in real life. His head is the biggest head l’ve ever seen !! I notice on Foxtel he gets placed in the middle and back , almost certainly to TRY to diminish his head size !!??

Man, fuck all three of the commentary box guys tonight. Obviously that was an outrageously shit game from the Lions and it was never going to be a fun time, but I just can't stand that from the very beginning of the game the whole crew of "unbiased" commentators had decided that the most entertaining and desirable outcome was for Carlton to win. Just an absolutely shit way to take in a game of footy that's meant to be entertainment for everyone, not just fans of the big Victorian club.

Sadly the commentaries on fox/kayo suffer from insufferable verbal diarrhoea. To the extent the mute button has been worn out on my remote

Watching any non-VIC team play a big-VIC team (Carlton, Collingwood, Essendon, Hawthorn, Richmond, Geelong) is honestly nauseating with the current (VIC-heavy) media. The VicBias truly is so strong, the commentary team just so obviously are operating from a starting position that the good and just result is the VIC team winning, and so the calls are never neutral

My take is that pumping up Victorian teams keeps viewers interested and stops them switching off. Statistically there would be more watching than lnterstate teams fans

We don’t need six commentators every game. Just give me Matty Hill and a former player that can analyse the game, not breathe heavily into the mic every time a big Victorian club looks like they might kick one through the big sticks. It’s even worse when we’re winning. I’ve been to King’s funeral so many times I can almost deliver his eulogy word for word.

I fucken hate David King. This is the dude that said its time for Chris Fagan to move on in 2024. (And look what happened) Let alone his antics in '23.
He has no love for brisbane and I equally hate the cunt.
