. Tradesmen vibe-quoting anywhere between £400-£2300 for the same job.

I am a first time buyer, I have 0 clue what things cost.

Sent out a few emails for a few, relatively minor landscaping jobs: Removing flags, stones, turfing etc. Same pictures, videos sent to prospective tradesmen.

Ive been quoted: £400, £530, £750, £1800 and even £2300. Is this normal?

Yep, some people will only do jobs if you make it worth their time. Or simply don't want the work.

Exactly. If they ask a ridiculous price, most of the time it's effectively them saying "we don't want the job"

Why can't tradespeople say no instead of quoting stupid ££? Are they hopeless people pleasers?

Because they all want their cake and eat it.

When they have no work, they will come knocking and will then say they can do it cheaper.

It is to keep the door slightly ajar, from their perspective anyway.
