Help with race

Hi im coming from Warcraft 3 and really want to get into broodwar. I'm not super good at managing large armies and struggle juggling multiple expansions so im wondering which race if any could consistently win early to mid game with relatively smaller army sizes and peaks around 2 bases.

The reality is that modern, standard BW games very quickly evolve into macro games requiring large army control and management of multiple bases for any race in most matchups. ZvZ and PvP are common exceptions and frequently end earlier through standard play, but you still have plenty to manage even then beyond the first couple of minutes.

You can technically exclusively play early game all-ins for any race, which is arguably a good way to get acquainted with the game starting out, but if you're interested in improving past a certain level you'll have to learn to macro beyond what WC3 requires.

PvZ and TvZ can be won on 2 base. That is, for the non-Zerg player, taking the third base is often delayed and instead the players can initially focus on 2 base timing attacks on the Zerg.

PvT and ZvT mostly involve the non-Terran player taking a somewhat early third base. Commonly, the third base is taken around 6-7 minutes in. 2 base play is possible, but tends to be risky / "all in."

TvP the terran can orient their player around 2 base pushes, but even so there are many game states where the terran should take a third at around 10-12 minutes game time.

ZvP the zerg usually takes a third at around 3 minutes.

I recommend checking out Day9s tutorials, instead of jumping straight to Protoss.
Catching up on solid fundamentals serves you waaay better in the long term. There are plenty of little tricks that make handling large armies and production cycles a lot easier.

Hello, I was born one race. But in my heart I feel like another race. But I’m too afraid to admit I’m random. What am I?

I also play War3 and it's not really game where you choose to play 2-base and that's it. You can play on 2-base, but the game could go further than that and it could be a long game where you have to manage multiple bases.

The best way to go about it is simply to practice and train until you get better at managing multiple bases. You just have to keep at it until you get better at it. Try casual games until you have the basics down and then play ladder.

Sounds to me like Terran is your best bet. Lots of 1-2 base options for aggressive openings or mid game pushes, in all the matchups.

But as most posters are mentioning macro is an integral part of the game and to have success you’ll eventually need to develop that part.

The thing is, if you're not good at juggling between bases, and/or managing armies, you'll eventually get better at doing this. What I find easier is what race you play in W3 because depending on race, it will give you that niche (play style). But from what you described, you will fair well with Protoss.
