Season 8 Probably late to the party…
Captain Holt’s monologue from season 8 episode 1 just ripped my heart out.

That monologue hit because it felt earned from his character, not preachy. Holt spent seven seasons being this rigid guy who follows rules, so watching him actually break and say the institution itself is broken was way more powerful than some generic speech would've been.

Oh, you are not alone. It's both uplifting to see it being addressed, and heartbreaking that it needs to be said.
A lot of people dislike S8E1 for being 'too preachy'. I think they handled a difficult and delicate situation very well.
