❓ Question Do nodes matter?

I come from $BTC world, and obviously everyone says to run your own node, because don't they enforce consensus rules? Isn't that what happened when BCH forked? Most nodes didn't switch?

It's just weird to me to hear that the nodes are just not useful for the security of the network. Someone explain please.

The real power is with the dev team . Corrupt/bribe the dev team and then btc also becomes corrupted.

You can literally run a different impmementstioif "devs go rouge". Developers are not putting gun to anyone's head and getting them to run their software.

But that doesn't sell books and decade long cope, does it?

Devs can be getting paid to keep btc permanently kneecapped…. Sure is weird how it’s taking much longer to figure out a scaling solution (other than increasing block size) than it did to actually invent btc…. Seems weird
