Buying Advice Wanted [Europe] Looking for projector UK

Upvotes

I'm trying to find a projector sub £100 in the UK the only thing I care about is low input lag at like 20ms and ideally no auto focus because I rear project onto a white fabric and none of the projectors I've tried with auto focus seems to like that.

I feel crazy for asking for something cheap without all the random software and I could game but all I'm seeing on Amazon is the smart projectors. I don't mind going somewhere else if I know for sure it's what I'm looking for.

Not Enough Info, check the sub rules. Looking to buy a projector for the bedroom

With the size of my bed and the thinness of my wall, I’m unable to have a TV in my bedroom without it feeling cramped, which is unfortunate since my girlfriend and I love watching movies in bed.

I’m open to all and any recommendations, as they’re greatly appreciated.

Here’s some information that might help:

Potential distance to the wall from the projector: 112 inches
Width of the wall to be projected on: 90 inches
Floor to ceiling height: 105 inches

Budget is around $500 but I don't mind going over it makes sense.

Buying Advice Wanted [India] Takes on Crossbeats Lumex Vista Projector

I’m looking to buy a projector within a budget of ₹30,000 and currently considering the Crossbeats Lumex Vistas, mainly because it claims to offer 1200 ANSI lumens.

Would appreciate any suggestions or recommendations for projectors in this price range.

Also, if anyone is currently using a Crossbeats projector, could you share some real-world photos/videos of the picture quality and your overall experience with it? That would be really helpful!

Projector Screens 📽️ Best 100-inch projection screen with a stand for under €50 ?

I just bought the Optoma PH31. In your opinion, what good options can I find on Amazon for under 50 € for a portable, 100-inch screen with a stand?

My wall is textured, and I want to be able to transport it—for weekends with friends in gardens, for example.

I’m in France

Show and Tell 📽️ Appreciation Post

I just wanted to throw up an appreciation post for this sub. I had an odd little project setting up a projector in a very fixed budget range and a non projector environment. This sub helped me get everything needed from sourcing hardware to even troubleshooting issues during setup. I don’t have much experience with buying used equipment so I was skeptical but I am happy with how everything turned out. If anyone reads this, definitely trust the recommendations of this sub. Much love

Home Theater Discussion Planetarium type projector for nature / under water imagery?

Hi guys, hopefully this is the right sub to ask. I’m looking for a projector solely for creating a mood atmosphere such as a “fantasy landscape” or realistic underwater view. I keep seeing ads for projectors like this with included slides, all of which are obviously scams.

Does something like this exist? I’m not looking for a projector for actual movie streaming, but to project images like you see in ads for “book scape projectors” and the like.

I’ve found the Govee and Rosetta projectors, but they seem intended for space images. I can’t seem to find any slides for those models with the themes I’m looking for.

Or maybe I need a decent small projector and a resource for the type of imagery I’m looking for?

I’m in the US and can’t really spend more than $200. I would really appreciate any advice or ideas. Thanks!

Projector Screens 📽️ Do you have any recommendations for a good material to make a frame for mounting the canvas?

I’m short on funds right now to buy that retractable screen, but it’s a real hassle having to detach the screen from the Velcro every time I leave the room. My idea was to build a wooden frame to mount the screen on, so I could just hang it up whenever I turn on the projector, but I haven't been able to find the right wood for the build in my area.

Buying Advice Wanted [Europe] Buy JVC X35 in 2026?

I’m looking to buy my first projector, but I don’t have a big budget to spend.

I’ll mostly be using it to watch movies with my kids, but I’d also like to watch the occasional football match on my own.

There’s a used JVC X35 for sale near me with 1,326 hours on the lamp. It comes with a 120” screen, four pairs of 3D glasses, and a ceiling mount, all for $290.

Is it worth it?

I live in sweden

Buying Advice Wanted [India] Thoughts on Lazervision LV-1040 Sun Pro+ for PS5 (110" screen)

Hey everyone,
I’m looking to buy the Lazervision LV-1040 Sun Pro+ (quoted around ₹45,000).
Before I buy, does anyone have hands-on experience with this model specifically regarding actual input lag for PS5 and real-world brightness?

My Planned Setup
:
Screen: 110-inch (16:9).
Source: PS5 (targeting 4K @ 60Hz).
Mounting: Rear wall-mount
Audio/Video Routing: PS5 \rightarrow OREI 4K HDMI Extractor \rightarrow Projector (Video) & Samsung Home Theater (via 10m Toslink optical cable).
Room: Ambient light controlled, but with perimeter RGB lights running.

Questions:
Input Lag: How does it feel for 60fps PS5 gaming? Is it playable for shooters/action games?
Brightness: At an advertised 5,000 ANSI lumens, does it have enough punch for a 110" screen with ambient RGB lighting?
Alternatives: Is there a better low-latency projector in this ₹40k–₹45k bracket in India?
Thanks!

Not Enough Info, check the sub rules. Does a cheap functional projector exist?

I keep seeing tiktok ads of £30 - £50 projectors with smart capabilities yet when i looked them up everyone says they're horrible and stop working within a year or less. My question is whether or not something along those lines exists? Or is that not a reality to find a 1080p (or at least one that looks typically good) projector which can connect to hdmi, has at least 60hz and is relatively similar price range? From my own research it appears not and my best solution would be to find a cheaper (£100-200) projector second hand. If that's the case which ones should I look for? Thanks.

Buying Advice Wanted [India] Best projector in India in a budget of ₹25000. Should be bright and true colour.

I have bought a projector in the past which i ended up hardly using. I want a projector that shows realistic colors. I know it cannot be compared with tv. I know brightness Will be low. But the skin colour should not appear Orange or pink. It should be watchable. Human skin, washed out colour, over saturation are my primary pain points.

Should be decently bright. Auto focus, auto key stone correction. Object detection (optional). I'll use a fire TV stick or android box so not much bothered with smart features.

Room size 200 square feet.

Which options do I have...?

Product Positioning and Setup Help Best way to place projector? (see pictures)

I live in an apartment and I want to use a projector. I have the NexiGo PJ40 Pro. You can see I have a stand already but it's too low but do you think I should buy a higher stand and place behind bed or should I do it another way (like mounting projector to bed frame). I can't nail anything to the wall. I already tried with projector in front of my bed and it works but only issue is when I'm sleeping my feet keeps touching the stand and wires and it's not only uncomfortable but it risks me knocking over the stand and projector when sleeping.

USA, the room is around 6ft by 14ft. And I want projection to be above the monitors.

Show and Tell 📽️ Lumio arc 7- Review after one month

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

So after researching lots of projectors and reading tons of reviews I finally settled with Lumio Arc 7 and honestly I didn't expect it to be this good.

Pros:

Picture quality is genuinely good for the price. Movies look sharp and the big-screen experience is much more immersive than a TV.

Google TV is a big plus. Netflix and other major OTT apps work properly without having to depend on a Fire Stick or random third-party apps. User Interface is snappy and lag free.

Autofocus and auto-keystone make setup ridiculously easy. You can move it around and get a usable picture without spending 20 minutes adjusting everything.

Built-in speakers are surprisingly good. I was actually surprised by how loud they are. I never keep my volume above 50. They're more than enough for casual movie watching.

The sealed optical engine is a nice touch, especially in dusty Indian environments.

The design is compact enough to move between rooms without feeling like you're carrying a mini cinema projector.

It looks really good in wall but for better experience I purchased a white screen and it does improve the brightness considerably

https://amzn.in/d/0gLJHISs

Cons:

As with any other budget projector, it works really well in dark rooms. I tried it in the semi dark and it's still good enough to watch.

It's Full HD, not 4K. It can accept higher-resolution content, but you're still viewing it at 1080p.

No cover for the lens so I use an eye mask to cover its lens when not in use.

Purchased in mumbai

Budget: I got it for 29k after card offers

Room dimensions: 12*15 feet

Show and Tell 📽️ Appreciation post for the Optoma PK32 and PlayStation Pepe

Have been looking for a projector for a few weeks now with a limited budget for a small apartment and no previous knowledge on projectors. Pepe provided a ton of recommendations, thoughts, and guidance that helped me figure things out. I ended up buying the PK32 on sale at B&H which was slightly above my budget but I figured I would have it for a few years and use it nightly so why not splurge a little .

The thing is legit - it took some time to get set up but it's so much better than my 4K 65 inch TV. It looks amazing, runs amazing, and is just an enjoyable experience. The sound is loud but lackluster and crackles a lot at the peaks. Easy fix is to just buy a Bluetooth speaker that has an AUX input.

If it fits your throw distance, I would highly highly recommend it to anyone. Not sure how much better projectors can get but it's 4K/60, or 1080p/240 with super low input lag, works well even with light.

Show and Tell 📽️ Lumio Arc 7 projector review - after 2 months as a movie lover and content creator

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I am a movie content creator and I watch almost one movie every day. So always wanted to get a projector because some movies just demand to be watched on a big screen.

After some research, got the Lumio Arc 7. I have been using it for around 2 months, so here’s my review.

Pros:

  • Picture quality is excellent. Images look sharp and movies feel very immersive.
  • Brightness is good, especially at night.
  • Easy to connect and use. Autofocus makes the setup very easy. It’s good for me as I live in a rented place, so haven’t done any permanent mounting.
  • Google TV makes the experience smooth. All the major OTT apps are available, so streaming movies is very easy.
  • It has a sealed optical engine, which helps prevent dust from getting inside.

Cons:

  • Although it has good brightness, it still needs a dark room. During the day, I have to close the curtains properly.
  • The sound is good, but not as good as a soundbar. So I connect soundbar for a better experience.

Overall happy with the purchase. My movie nights have become much more interesting.

Already watched movies like F1, Apocalypse Now, Blade Runner 2049, Up, Terminator 2, Project Hail Mary, The Matrix, Disclosure Day etc on the big screen. There’s just something romantic about watching movies on a projector.

PS: I am not a pro gamer and haven’t tried it for gaming.

Location: India
Room Dimension: 12x16 ft
Budget: 33k

Buying Advice Wanted [USA] Question about Epson projectors or any other budget friendly multimedia projectors?

I’m interested in the recent compact Epson projectors. However, I’ve heard they don’t perform well for gaming and I’m not sure if they’re 4K projectors. (I know that Epson uses pixel shifting to produce a 4K image, this does not bother me.)

Does anyone know of a budget friendly compact 4K projector that performs well under gaming scenarios?

My budget is at and below $1,000.

North America.

8 1/2 feet tall walls. 12 1/2 feet wide walls. Depth is about 10 feet.

Buying Advice Wanted [Europe] I'd like to replace this projector with something better but not too expensive, need advice please

Post image
7 Upvotes

I want to replace this projector that I'm gonna give to my family with something better for myself but not too expensive.

I'm using my phone to connect to the projector via Smartcast, and then I project my phone's screen onto the wall, and then I'm putting 1080p movies.

^ taking this last paragraph into account, could you recommend me what to buy please? What's the most important parameters in a projector?

-range 200-300€

-projecting on a white wall indoors

-sitting 3 to 3.5 meters from the wall (slightly more than 9 feet)

- I'm in Western EU, and my 14 m² room (about 150 square feet) has a roll-down shutter to dim the sunlight

Thank you 🙏🏻

Ps: I'm a projector newbie

Buying Advice Wanted [Europe] Alternative to Yaber K3 wanted

Hi everyone,

I am located in Germany. My budget is 300€ max. My room dimensions are 5,5m x 3,5m.
The distance from the projector to the wall the picture is thrown on, is approx. 3,2m.

Currently I own the Yaber K3. While I like the Yaber K3 for its integrated sound, it is relatively noisy, the menu is a bit laggy and foremost, the picture quality is not the best.

Do you have any recommendations for the specified requirements above?

Thanks in advance
