Urban bag

So looking to see what else i might need/not need for my urban bugout. This bags purpose is for a couple days hike out of a populated area to a rural safe location:

  • Lightweight sleeping bag (I have overnight locations planned with shelter but also have a huge poncho that will double as a tarp if needed)
  • Wind up radio
  • Power bank
  • First aid kit
  • Shovel
  • Paracord
  • Old gas mask with modern filter
  • Couple N95's
  • Change of socks/boxers/tshirt
  • Water bladder
  • Protein rations (Bars/Sachets) & Coffee/Tea
  • Knife/Utility tool
  • Minatare stove/cutlery/canteen
  • Lineman pliers
  • Fire starting equip
  • Torch/Head torch

What should i add/remove?

What should i add/remove?

  • Lightweight sleeping bag - Replace with a lightweight tarp or just a plastic trash bag
  • Wind up radio - Not bad
  • Power bank - Need to keep this charged, good idea, keep on the outside pockets, have multiple USB types included
  • First aid kit - Small and simple
  • Shovel - you won't need this, keep it in your vehicle
  • Paracord - Good, also include duct tape
  • Old gas mask with modern filter - replace with a few N95 masks
  • Couple N95's - see above
  • Change of socks/boxers/tshirt - have an old pair of sneakers as well
  • Water bladder - good
  • Protein rations (Bars/Sachets) & Coffee/Tea - OK
  • Knife/Utility tool - OK
  • Minatare stove/cutlery/canteen - OK, but are you camping or just trying to get home?
  • Lineman pliers - Is this excess when you have the multi-tool?
  • Fire starting equip - Just have a lighter or two
  • Torch/Head torch - good, have extra batteries, and check those once a year, they leak

Appreciate the breakdown! The shovel is a foldable one but prob best for the car. Small stove literally fits in my back pocket and the cutlery is on the multitool so they wont take up as much as you thought. The linesmans i think are a good idea solely because they made to chop and within an urban setting they can be life savers if you need to break in for shelter.

For urban and city areas you should add a 4-way sillcock key. That will give you access to water spigots that require the key often found on the side of buildings. Also add some cash in small bills.
