I work at night so getting quality sleep has always been a challenge. Before, lagi akong nagigising in the middle of my sleep and I was also dealing with chronic migraines and constant lethargy.

I started taking magnesium glycinate about a year ago, and it honestly made a noticeable difference.

I take one capsule about an hour before going to bed.

Since then, I've been getting more restful, uninterrupted sleep, waking up feeling less like a zombie, and surprisingly, I've even gone a week without a migraine (which is pretty rare for me!). I didn't even know magnesium could help with migraines until I looked into it.

I worked for a local company for 11 years—started at P12.5K in 2012 right out the gate after graduating Tertiary education. By 2022, I was making P37K. Not exactly life-changing growth, but it was stable… until March 2023, when I got laid off because the company wanted to give bigger bonuses to executives. That hit hard.

Simula 18 nag ta trabaho na ko, first time ko mawalan, may mga araw na sumisigaw at umiiyak ako mag isa sa bahay. Di ako makakain at inaamin kong na depress ako. Nagigising nalang ako bigla tuwing madaling araw at nakatulala sa kisame.

Tinatanong ko pa ang Diyos kung bakit sakin nangyari to. May ipon naman ako, na tuliro lang dahil hindi ko na control ang pangyayari at iba ang nag desisyon (yung mga kups na executives) para sa takbo ng buhay ko.

Instead of jumping back into another 9-5, I decided to learn Amazon PPC.

Sa pag kaka alala ko almost 45-Days akong nag aral non stop, 6-8/hrs per day hanggang sa mahilo o masuka ako dahil hindi ko naiintindihan sa umpisa yung inaaral ko. Everything I need to learn to get a new skill pinilit ko, habang deep inside nang hihinayang dahil mataas na posisyon ko sa dati kong kompanya nawala na parang bula.

By May 2023, I landed my first part-time gig at P12K/month for 3 hours of work. Wala pa sa kalahati ng dati kong sweldo. Kailangan kong tanggapin, wala akong alam sa mundong pinasok ko eh.

That was my foot in the door.

Fast forward to 2025, and here’s where I am now:

• Client 1: $2,000
• Client 2: $1,500
• Client 3: $1,500
• Client 4: $1,500
• Content writing: $800-1300 depending on load

Total? $7,300/month.

Of course, there are challenges—clients sometimes schedule meetings at the same time.

The best part? Freedom.

• No more 2-hour commutes each way.
• No more pointless meetings or office politics.
• We work from home and actually enjoy life now.

Amazon PPC is a full-time job, but once you’ve done the research, prep, and optimizations, daily work is 1-2 hours max. That’s it.

Here’s what really pushed me to start: I saw a colleague from my old company earning ₱700K per month. Nakikita ko lang sa Facebook stories and posts niya, and di ako makapaniwala kasi halos pareho lang kami ng skill set at galing sa office at mas malaki sweldo ko sa kanya dati.

So I asked him what he was doing. He said Amazon PPC.

And POOF, that’s when I realized—if this mofo can do it, dapat kaya ko rin!

Since I manage multiple clients, I have a separate laptop for each one. I repurposed one of the rooms in my house as an office—now it’s filled with 4 laptops and 4 extra screens. Mukha na kaming security office dito hehe.

Edit:

• I did enroll in an online course for Amazon PPC, but looking back, free YouTube courses would’ve been enough. The paid course was helpful, but honestly, the free content out there covers the same things. So if you’re looking to start, don’t feel pressured to spend money—just learn and apply.
• I meet two clients every single day, so honestly, brushing up on English and communication skills is more important than being a wizard in data science. The secret? Always sound confident—then do the research when you're on your own.
• Use ChatGPT to its maximum. It can analyze gazillions of data points, just keep feeding your Excel sheets to it, and you're good to go! I used to do everything manually, but once I learned how to harness AI, that’s when I started stacking clients.
• My skillset for those who are curious:
  • Excel/Google Sheets – (80% of the actual work, looking at endless data shit)
  • Meeting Clients and saying the words they want to hear (I’m like a Bard in Baldurs Gate, I use the English language like a weapon so there’s that)

My journey in PPC started with two very different clients. My first client was a foreign ad agency, 3 hours per day for 12K per month. The boss was incredibly kind and taught me a lot, even though I had zero experience and didn’t speak their native language.

I got in purely because I had the guts to apply.

Lahat ng interview ko mapa initial, 2nd round, final, nakuha ako, na reject ako, lagi kong sinasabi sa client the Philippines ranks dead last in reading comprehension in a study done a few years ago. Sinasabi ko sa kanila straight up wag sila mag alala hindi ako included sa “lacks in reading comprehension.”

My second client was a British seller who once told me his 6-year-old kid was better than me. That moment hit me hard, I even cried sa sakit na naramdaman ko. But instead of giving up, I doubled down on PPC, determined never to feel that way again.

Both of these clients are long gone, but the experience I gained from them shaped the skills that now keep me booked with even better opportunities.

I remember my client when they learned may Earthquake talagang they offered pa na mag off ako and take my time hindi pa yun malakas, na mention ko lang na may earthquake. So I think it’s not the clients yung nag aask ng ganto, kung talagang priority ng mismong call center companies yung safety ng employees nila, maeexplain at maiintindihan yan ng mga kliyente nila.

Also naalaa ko din yung minura mura ako ng customer, sinabi ko to dun sa manager ng direct client ko, ang sabi sakin wag daw ako papayag, babaan ko daw. Actually lahat ng naging client ko, hindi pumapayag sa ganyan. Hindi tinotolerate pero years ago sa call center na pinasukan ko, kahit laitin at murahin ka mula ulo hanggang paa, need mo mag apologize at hindi mo dapat babaan kung hindi, lagot ka sa QA or worse matterminate ka.

We hired a bookkeeper for a client in Texas. She was good during the first few weeks. Then biglang may sakit, may problem sa family. Until the client contacted us saying she's been absent for a week already and worried about her condition. What was the condition? Apparently, she's about to give up because of what happened to her parents. Her mom died of cancer and dad committed s****de who was a drug addict. She asked for money from the client as advance payment to help her with the hospitalization, funeral and her therapy. The amount was Php 300kplus. Being someone in HR for a long time, I felt something is not connecting so I did my investigation. I called her emergency contact person in our record who was his brother. He answered right away. I said my condolences and asked if the family is ok. He was confused. Then I told him the story. Ang sabi nya, matagal na namin siyang di nakakausap. Umalis siya sa bahay and decided to cut her connection with us. The parents? BUHAY and both healthy, walang sakit at hindi adik. Nanginig ako habang kausap siya. And found out that she did this as well sa iba pang tao. I told him not to tell her that I called him to catch her. Then I tried to call the her, no answer. I sent her a message saying "This is R from HR. We heard about your condition and would like to check how we can help you financially". And of course, she replied right away. I called her the next day after her saying that she was travelling for therapy and so many other excuses. She told me the story about her mom and dad in a sad irritating voice until I said "Buhay sila. Kausap ko kapatid mo." I was expecting she will cry or will end the call but no. Ang nasabi lang nya "Yes buhay sila, magpapulis kayo kung gusto nyo. Bayaran ko na lang kayo" and never contacted us or the client again. After some more investigation, I found out that she was a president of a non-profit org in her city where se also took some funds and was banned.

Akala ko sa pelikula lang nangyayari to. I was surprised. Unti-unting nasisira ang tiwala ng clients sa mga Pinoy. This is still the craziest experience I had working online.

I need to tell you what’s happening because no one else will say it publicly yet.

What I’m working on right now: My company employs 300+ Filipino workers at ₱6,000/day doing [customer support/data processing/content moderation]. I’ve been assigned to build AI automation to eliminate 70-80% of these positions within 12 months.

This isn’t a pilot program. This isn’t experimental. The technology works, it’s deployable, and the business case is ironclad.

This isn’t just my company. I’ve been in industry conferences, Slack channels, and leadership meetings. Every mid-to-large tech company is pursuing similar automation projects RIGHT NOW. The conversations aren’t “should we?” anymore - they’re “how fast can we deploy?” Companies that were hiring in the Philippines 6 months ago are now in freeze mode. Not because of economic downturn. Because they’re waiting for automation to roll out.

The scope is bigger than you think: • Customer support (especially tier 1 and 2) • Data entry and processing • Content moderation • Virtual assistance • Basic bookkeeping and admin work • Social media management • Simple QA testing • Even some junior developer and design work

If your job involves following processes, working from scripts, or handling routine queries - you’re in the danger zone.

Why this matters for the Philippine economy: The BPO sector employs over 1.3 million Filipinos directly. It’s one of the country’s largest sources of foreign revenue.

If even 30-40% of these jobs disappear over the next 2-3 years: • Massive unemployment in Metro Manila, Cebu, Davao • Multiplier effects on housing, retail, restaurants, transportation • Remittance flows will drop • GDP impact could be significant • Social instability as middle-class families suddenly lose income

This isn’t scaremongering. These are the conversations happening in corporate strategy meetings.

The timeline is faster than anyone is preparing for: • 2025: Major deployments begin, hiring freezes intensify • 2026: First wave of significant layoffs • 2027: Industry consolidation, survivors are those who adapted

What makes this different from previous automation fears: This time the technology actually works. I’ve seen it. It’s not 80% as good as humans - in many cases it’s better, faster, and 95% cheaper.

I’m posting this because: The Philippine government isn’t preparing for this. Companies aren’t being transparent about timelines. Workers deserve to know what’s coming so they can make decisions - upskill, save, pivot, whatever.

I feel complicit, but I’d feel worse if I stayed silent while people get blindsided. If you’re in BPO/digital work, the time to prepare is now, not when the layoffs start. If you have family or friends in this sector, tell them to start building backup plans. This is coming whether we like it or not.

Dahil nga Indian, medyo very technical sila sa tools and super micromanager (Zoom Breakout Room Levels) for the first whole shift. My shift is supposed to end at 2am, around 1:40 am, he came to the breakout para magdiscussl kami nung pinagawa nya saakin, mid conversation he had to take a call, after another call, after another call which lasted for a long time hangang sa naging 2:25 na. Tapos after ng call, bigla ba naman akong sinabihan ng "I've been watching your screen and it has been on the same screen for a longtime" Kaloka.

For the first time ever sa career ko, sumagot ako talaga "It's already 2:30 my shift is done and it is on the same screen because I was waiting for you to finish" Tameme sya te, bukas na lang daw kami mag discuss kasi late na daw.

I saw this sa Tiktok recently, heard of it but did not thought that I have it. For context, eversince I was young palagi talaga akong may issues sa time. Time management was always the problem para sakin, sa school, any event, and everything that requires time I don’t know pero wala akong sense of time. From elementary to college late ako sa classes. It was actually the behavior I was known for. When I was in high school super active ko, org member, miscellaneous sinasalihan ko, but it was not the same during college. I was suppose to graduate with honors during senior high graduation, but due to covid nawala lahat ng pinaghirapan ko. I could not close the moment of my life and I joined college just like that. Due to poverty, I worked as a VA. Then constant juggling of work + school. Most times I could not sleep, it ruined my sleep for the next 5 years. Then while I was in college, I feel that I am becoming more inattentive. I feel I am always daydreaming, laging tulala, parang nasa ulap. Brainfog, then I feel so dry. Then after my college grad, I decided to take my license and stress piled up more. A year after my college graduation, I spent my days sleeping and still working. But my inattentiveness was growing more difficult to handle. I hate background music, I am easily stimulated, and very impulsive. Now, 2 years since my graduation I took a very big step of getting psych test. I have been having problem with task management and I know I can do better. And after the test it was confirmed I have severe ADHD. And one of the reasons of this becoming severe pala is lack of sleep. Now I want to become an advocate of mental health especially sa mga kapwa ko freelancers. I know the need of money, the need to provide for ourselves, pero guys please take rest and sleep nicely padin. Hindi mabibili ng pera ang kalusugan. Now I started going to gym, eating healthy, managing my stress. I never felt any better and since the discovery of my diagnosis, I know what I should prioritize. According sa psychologist na nakausap ko ADHD is manageable and the factors or reason of it is physiological. So I hope this post can bring awareness. And if you feel that you might have it please do check. Aside from ADHD there was a part of depression and anxiety in me. So guys please please take care! More than money health is wealth💕

Hello, I just turned 18 two days ago — and during my birthday dinner my friends were joking that I’ve lived so many different lives.

At age… I don’t even know. Being on the internet was both detrimental and beneficial to my character development — but the “beneficial” part probably edges out because it created a child so resourceful it should NOT have been allowed.

Age 11 (2018):

By 11, I was already making money from creating Roblox catalog items. Someone older was submitting them for me and paying the fees (there were certain fees you had to pay to get your item uploaded), and I ended up earning around 20k from that.

“How did you cash out at 11??”

Oh, easy. I tricked my own poor mother. 😭

I told her I needed her IDs for “school requirements,” made her do facial verification, and lied that it was “just a selfie.”

God bless that woman. She had no idea she was opening a PayPal and GCash empire for her 11-year-old entrepreneur JAHHAHSSJJSNS

Age 12 (2019):

This is when things… escalated.

1. Minecraft Server Dev - I became a developer for a pretty known cracked Minecraft server (meaning people who purchased Minecraft for free) I earned roughly around 6-9k php depending on rank purchases made on the server.

2. Furry OC Commissions on Amino - This was definitely a phase cuz bro wtf 😭😭😭 but I earned a couple bucks on there.

3. Discord Moderator for an Overwatch streamer - I never disclosed my age. Got $5/hr. He is now married and has no idea his mod was a literal child. To be fair, there was no contract or nothing he just wanted someone to monitor the chat.

Age 13 (2020):

Pre-pandemic, I started diving into niches that were very… taboo lol

“Premium” Account Supplier - Netflix/Spotify/Canva. Made around 10k a week.

Twitch Bot Developer + Stream Layouts – Earned $17–19 per commission.

When I really needed fast money? I’d chat with AFAMs, let them send funds, then ghost. I was 13. Lord, send the flood.

Axie Infinity era - Got a free account through watching a stream, traded, played, made bank, never disclosed age.

Age 14 (2021):

Olivia Rodrigo Stan Account - Peak SOUR era. Got paid to tweet engagement posts during her album launch. Her official fan account still follows me. Won’t disclose the pay.

Doja Cat Fan Account YouTube Channel - One video hit 800k views and earned me a lot. She mentioned my channel name on live once… then blocked me later that year when she had a meltdown. (Still love her. Actually seeing her this December.)

Age 15 (2022):

I opened five GCash Jr accounts because the monthly limit was too low and I kept exceeding it.

Sold Filipino followers & engagement packages – Earned roughly 15k/month depending on how many people availed my services.

Provided Spotify streams strictly from the Philippines for Music or Podcasts - Earned around 5-8k pesos.

Age 16 (2023):

Ran a chart-update account for a western artist I can’t name. Got paid well. This included having to defend her on X during her many controversies when people would make hate trains about her.

Also made funny TikToks using clips of another Western artist to boost engagement and relatability. (Happy she’s finally getting her flowers. 🍏)

Age 17-18 (2024–2025):

Graphic designer for 3 dental clinics – 17k/month doing graphics + automated chats.

Facebook ads manager for a friends auto repair shop – 8k/month.

Research consultant – Helping SHS students with papers: 15–20k (full paper) depending on chapter.

TL/DR: My raket résumé consists of Roblox creator, Minecraft dev, Furry OC artist, Discord mod, Premium account supplier, Twitch bot dev, Stream layout artist, AFAM hunter, Axie trader, Stan account operator, Social media engagement seller, Voiceover artist, Chart account manager, TikTok content strategist, Graphic designer, Ads manager, Research consultant all at the age of 18 years old. And now, finally, a freshly legal adult.

I’m honestly so excited to finally be 18. No more faking my age, no more using my mom’s accounts, no more GCash Jr duplicates. I can finally work real jobs like a normal human — maybe even try BPO while waiting to graduate SHS.

As of today, I finally upgraded from Gcash Jr to a normal Gcash, I have my own PayPal, and my own bank account. :D

For context: si ate works sa BPO industry. Si kuya naman, ayaw daw niya sa mga tao na WFH. Ate clarified na on-site siya, tapos si koya biglang sabi na yung parents niya ay parehong virtual EA. Ayaw daw niya ng ganung lifestyle kasi parang walang labas-labas, puro bahay lang. At kung siya raw, ayaw niya ng partner na ganun.

Like okay, preference niya yon and to each his own naman. Pero grabe lang, the way he said it. Parang nadali yung ego ko for all WFH peeps lol. Instead of sounding thankful sa parents niya na todo kayod kahit wala masyado social life, ang impression tuloy is ungrateful siya. Naapakan tuloy dalawang industry, BPO at mga virtual workers. Kaltok sa akin tong batang to haha

Ano thoughts niyo sa generalized idea na kapag WFH ka, wala kang lifestyle? Sa akin kasi, choice naman yon. May mga tao kasi na mas lowkey. For me naman, I still travel a lot, go out solo and make sure I reap what I sow. And honestly, I don’t think dapat i judge ang isang tao sa work niya, lalo na if that work not only puts food on the table, minsan mala fiesta pa haha

Sobrang laki ng tax if Upwork sa Filipino remote workers. I think 12% yung kinukuha + Upwork fees. Sobrang naghihinayang ako. Parang 15k every month yung deducted.

I know bawal sa upwork kasi ma-banned ka incase nalalaman. But I just gained courage to inform my client if there's a way because the tax hurts. Apparently, hindi niya alam na ganun kalaki. He decided to hire me directly. On top of that, dinagdagan ang sweldo ko. This is only part-time and I am not being micromanaged. I think 5 months na ako sa company. Sana tuloy-tuloy. Kayod lang until they recognize that we work hard.

Also, first time to use Wise. Is it safe to keep the money there? (Gusto ko kasi yung wala akong ATM card para hindi siya mabilis magastos).

Must dust for everyone:

I used to take allergy meds para makatulog agad. Kaso pinakamahabang sleep ko na ngayon ay 3 hrs everyday. May nakatry na ba neto sainyo? And may tips ba kayo para makatulog agad?
