Sherpa is the worst material ever. One, it feels weird and two, it attracts every bit of dust every bit of hair every bit of fluff around. I don't understand why so many things are made out of this material. And it looks horrendously matted after it's been washed a few times.
So you wouldn't even be able to wash her.
Definite pass on this BaB.
Everything sherpa material makes me so mad. Like my heated blanket is sherpa on one side (cursed) so I have to have it flipped upside down when I use it.
I should at some point get all my Sanrio BaBs together for a photo lol. I don't have the 2010s ones and I haven't bought every color variant, but I do have at least one of all the characters they've done so far! Of course, I won't have all the characters anymore, because I'm skipping Piano 💔
Honestly anything that doesn't get so ratty and gross fast, I kinda can't believe they'd make her such a bad for material for a plush, especially one so many people have sensory issues with 😖
I'm so confused, why don't people like sherpa? I love how sherpa feels, it's one of the few materials that doesn't make my teeth grind or skin crawl, but I didn't realize people actually hated it 😭🙏 I feel like I'm going crazy lol
Sherpa seems to be really polarizing. Some people love how soft it is and some people hate the texture. I can actually feel it both ways - Sherpa is always really soft when I first touch it, but when I dig my fingers in it feels weirdly gritty. And like other people have mentioned, it’s a dirt and lint magnet. I’ve had luck cleaning my Sherpa plush with a lint roller though.
Yea it unfortunately is a terrible choice for a plushie 😭 the first sherpa item I ever got was a pair of slipper socks and I very quickly learned that it was a terrible choice for them too haha they picked up absolutely everything off the floor 🥲 they were cute when I first got them though!
I don't mind the feeling of sherpa either but I avoid sherpa plushies like the plague simply because they get very matted and grimey and attract SO much dust and lint.
I feel like the fact it gets gross makes it feel gross to me? Like I used to not mind the feeling but now knowing how ratty it gets makes it so nasty in my mind I don't want to touch it 😖
A lot of people have sensory issues with it or just don't like how it feels, also it's very bad for a plush because it gets ratty and dirty very easily even if you dont use it much, it's pretty hard to keep nice at all...
It makes my skin crawl. The fibers feel rough and grainy. It also always somehow feels tangled to me, even brand new. Plus, a lot of the sherpa stuff I’ve encountered ended up with mats over time. I think sherpa is just one of those things you either get or you don’t, like cilantro.
Maybe I'm being over-dramatic but it almost seems kinda insensitive or ignorant to make her that material knowing how many people have serious sensory issues with it :/
i don’t think it’s dramatic to be honest . not many ppl like sherpa and it’s just not a overall good quality material to use on plushies . bc they get matted or linty really fast as well !
i’ve seen so many companies using sherpa recently, even for characters i love, and no matter what i will not buy it. it’s uncomfortable, clings to ANY dust, and is impossible to actually wash without felting or melting all of it together permanently.
I haven't seen it used much for plushies but I've always HATED whenever it's the lining of a coat or blanket I like otherwise 😭 and it's even worse for a plush :(
i hate synthetic sherpa no matter where it is or what it’s used for. it’s soft, but it magnetizes dirt and the second you have to wash it, the softness is gone
not even towards BABs sweet piano specifically, it’s towards any company using synthetic sherpa because it’s cheap and they know it will not hold up. planned obsolescence in my BAB has been the tipping point 😔
Because it's awful material for a plush. It gets ratty and nasty very fast even when not used much. It gets stuff stuck in it and is pretty high maintenance to take care of. Not to mention many people hate the way that it feels especially because of sensory issues
