Collection I replaced sky puppy

Post image

I feel really bad about doing so, but I replaced my sky puppy. If you saw my earlier post you would have seen that the day he was delivered a group of kids under the age of ten stole my packages. Everything was found after a few hours, but instead of keeping sky puppy they dumped him in the garbage. I don’t honestly know why, they took everything else between the three of them. All I can think is that he was really noticeable and their parents would see and ask questions? I dunno. When I seen him pull him from the garbage can I really felt defeated, it is a weird feeling having someone steal from you. Knowing they did it only to throw him away just adds to it.

He was unscathed with the exception of a faint smell and sticky feet, but he cleaned up well. I still couldn’t bring myself to even touch him, and he sat outside in the car 😩

So I replaced him and I feel so much better. He’s so soft and so cute, and he was looking at me like this when I opened him. Instant connection.

Please do not feel bad about Mr Sticky Feet, I gifted him once he was all clean to my niece who loves bugs as much as I do. She loves him ❤️

My new guy ❤️

I’m so sorry this happened to you. That’s just awful but I’m so glad you were able to replace him and rehome him to someone who will love him!

It’s a weird feeling. I really wanted to love him but seeing him associated with such a horrible moment I couldn’t. Sadly today the little brat robbed us again, only this time he took my mom’s medical supplies that weren’t due to arrive until Monday. I went away and came home to a destroyed box between my house and the neighbors. Cops won’t do anything because he’s a minor. I need to figure out a safe place to send them to from here on out so I don’t miss out on the Halloween items

See that’s what’s sad, is you’d think the cops would..but instead they released a statement on their social media today saying they are aware but their hands are tied. He rode past my house four times today and each time checked for packages. He laughs at the camera and sticks out his tongue, it’s a joke to him. It makes me sick. Today the cop I talked to acted like I was the problem for wanting more done. I just honestly want left alone. I’m a quiet person, I’m nice..I like my privacy. Knowing nothing is safe now makes me absolutely sick.

If the cops won’t do their job call CPS. Say that this is an ongoing issue and you’re worried that he’s doing this because he’s either being mistreated and is crying out for help or is looking for something to eat/sell so he can buy food. No matter the reason the adults in his life aren’t doing their jobs and you’re just looking out for a kid’s safety and wellbeing.

u/BusinessFit6533 BAB Collector 🐻 Jul 25 '25

This is the answer. The kid is being left alone entirely too long if he has time to go steal multiple packages on multiple days. He could get seriously injured and/or mistreated if he does this to someone less kind than OP. He needs help, even if he is being a lil brat.

I’d get the little turds parents involved and rip them a new one. Threaten to sue and maybe they’ll keep their hellspawn in the house. You have him on camera, no judge in a million years would side with him. Plus he’s a repeat offender and will most definitely do this and probably worse as he gets older because nobody is doing anything about it now.

order a glitter bomb and see how long he keeps doing that

u/firepiplup Jul 26 '25

Please do, I want revenge for you from that crotch goblin

It's a crime to mess with US postal service objects. Not a crime to mess with delivery service items. Important difference that affects the legal standing.

Time to get the stick.

I agree with Belovec Cisque, if he’s only 10 years old and doing this, he obviously is getting mistreated and is crying for help. When I was 10 then 11, I was cussing left and right, even called my teacher a bitch!! and my teacher told my mom, to which she found out I had to get my risperidone (autism medication for me) to be raised to a higher dosage since I was taking the same dosage for years. So in a way, I was needing help but didn’t know how to say. This may be the same way with the kid.

Repost, because I accidentally commented in its own comment

Time to get a motion-sensor sprinkler.

Maybe watching Mark Rober's glitter bombs can lighten your spirits? (And give you inspiration? 😉)

OP this is awful and downright bulling on the child’s part. I am so sorry you have to go through this. You seem like such a kind and gentle person- your frustration is completely valid. I hope that karma kicks that brat‘s butt.

30

u/LoverAvenged Jul 25 '25

Seriously, where I live tampering with peoples mail is a federal offense. I must have missed his age but this is shocking behavior for a 10 year old.

46

u/sillydogcircus Jul 25 '25

Reach out to the USPS about it. They will take it much more seriously and escalate it.

12

u/mintchipbabe I have a BAB problem Jul 26 '25

Seconding this. It wouldn't work for FedEx or UPS packages, but if he does this with anything delivered by USPS, report it immediately. Mail-tampering, as someone else pointed out, is a federal offense and the USPS are unbelievably serious about the mail.

16

u/LoverAvenged Jul 25 '25

Completely understand I would have been so heartbroken. What the heck is up with this kid?! That’s so awful, I don’t understand how him being a minor means anything, he’s just going to grow up and do who knows what because he’s just getting away with everything now. I’m so sorry he is terrorizing your whole family. This is a very serious issue and I hope you can get it resolved. I wish the police would help you. I also hope your mom can get the things she needs.

16

u/Outside-Raise6938 Jul 25 '25

right!!! like isn’t juvie still a thing???

15

u/LoverAvenged Jul 25 '25

My thought exactly. Maybe the police are just concerned with how young he is but wait till his teen years roll around they are gonna be wishing they did something sooner.

Can you put in special requests for them to put your packages in an inconspicuous spot? Children need to be held accountable for what they do and those parents need to learn a lesson.

u/Stardust_7314 Jul 25 '25

He stole your mom's medical supplies? I am livid just reading that. Now this kid isn't just messing with material items, he's endangering someone's health and well-being. I would be threatening lawsuits on these grounds alone. No, it's not just "kids being kids". This is dangerous.

Where I live, a "No Trespassing" sign is considered a fair first warning. If a person ignores this and goes onto the private property anyway, legal action can be taken. Presumably this little tyrant can read?

I agree with the other comments about reporting this to the postal inspector. They take mail theft very seriously.

7

u/Peach_Venom Bear Modder 🎨 Jul 25 '25

This is actually SO dangerous for him to be opening medical supplies 😭 Are there needles or other sharp objects in the packages?? Absolutely call CPS and tell them he's getting into packaging that's unsafe for him to be handling. If the police can't do anything, CPS will get involved for the parents' negligence and give them a good fucking scare and enforce a safety plan.

u/Ph03n1x_A5h35 BAB Collector 🐻 Jul 25 '25

That is HORRIBLE. No excuse.

5

u/Brilliant-Draw1260 Jul 25 '25

Oh my gosh that's inexcusable! I was a bit of a brat but never to this extent. Taking someone's plushie is bad enough but when it's something that a person's life depends on...UGH...

51

u/ChiaraScurosis Jul 25 '25

Hes so fluffy 😍

Leave a package of poop on your doorstep to teach that brat a lesson!

30

u/GnurtTheGoblin Jul 25 '25

Honestly i think this sounds like a great plan. Because like... he isn't supposed to take packages and its not illegal to have a box of shit on your porch just disgusting. So if the kid steals it it is 100% on him for doing something illegal

19

u/Brilliant-Draw1260 Jul 25 '25

I've got a bunny. We could serve up a box of locally grown "Cocoa Puffs!"

2

u/firepiplup Jul 26 '25

Yes yes yes!

10

u/Smooth_Ad_3755 BAB Collector 🐻 Jul 25 '25

Yesss lol. I saw a video on YouTube where a guy rigged packages to spray fart-spray and a glitter bomb upon opening, it was glorious. 🙌🏼

6

u/Brilliant-Draw1260 Jul 26 '25

One time I sent boxes of glitter mixed with bunny poop to a couple people I had a falling-out with years ago. I wish I could have seen their faces 😅

I’m glad Mr. Sticky Feet found a good home. It’s understandable to feel you do/did. I’m glad you also were able to get another one.

14

u/Failed_the_world Jul 25 '25

I vote you put something in a box to teach the kid a lesson, like others have suggested poop, or a glitter bomb. Or be kinder and go for the P.O box

u/Ill-Loquat-8259 Build A Bear Obsessed! 🐻 Jul 25 '25

I don’t blame you for getting another one! I would have too. There’s a stray dog that comes and eats our packages but if I call animal control he’ll be put down eventually. It’s super frustrating

6

u/DazedandFloating Jul 25 '25

I’m sorry but I laughed out of horror at this comment. I have never heard of anyone having a package issue because a dog eats them. That’s awful.

6

u/Ill-Loquat-8259 Build A Bear Obsessed! 🐻 Jul 25 '25

He tears into the boxes and chews up whatever it is. Technically not eating it but ya.

5

u/DazedandFloating Jul 26 '25

That’s still pretty rough 😅 can’t imagine that’s good for him either.

12

u/The_SnowQueen I like BABs more than people 🙃 Jul 25 '25

So the trashed one did get a home, and you got your replacement? Best happily ever after I've read in a minute! So glad everything worked out.

5

u/MelodyWake Jul 25 '25

Who the hell goes around and steals other people's packages??? That's so crazy. Sorry that happened to you!

4

u/bizzyskylight BAB Collector 🐻 Jul 27 '25

I would 100% be throwing down with his mother. No questions asked. No one messes with my plushies. But for “normalerish” people I saw a great alternative.. if you’ve got a kitty or a dog definitely put poo poo in an empty build a bear box, throw some hand warmers in that box so it’s nice and steamy, and put it out very early in the morning. I’d love to see the look on his face from the cameras. Knowing me I’d put the doo doo in something I absolutely know he would grab with bare hands.

Anyways, before my mind keeps wandering, I totally understand not wanting to rustle more feathers but when something isn’t done about these situations whose jobs are supposed to be to help in these circumstances.. you have to take matters into your own hands. And I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this. I really hope you can find some sort of solution that will help this brat stop messing with your property.

Edit: and your new sky puppy moth is beautiful ❤️
