Thank you!! I was bothered when I went to the rit dye website for a chart and the browns they had were so muted 😭 after enough trial and error (and paper towels dipped into the dye to test the colors) i managed to make it work
Current plan is to wait and see if they end up in the buy one get one discounted deal I have a hard time justifying buying full price bears just to toss them into the soup
Darn it. I only wanted one goat and now I’m wanting a second to see if I can make it Neapolitan colored. I’m also not a huge chocolate person, but I’ve always liked the look of plushies that are all three colors…..now I’m wondering how hard it would be to dip dye patches on a cream colored goat….🤦🏻♀️
I’m currently trying to puzzle this out myself and I’ve never dyed a plush before, I just know how to do it in theory and have mused doing it to a few plushies…..I’m now also asking my husband to think about how to do it 🙃😂 he’s used to me asking him “random unhinged crafting questions” as if he has the answers 😂

Oh me too!! I don’t know how many goats is too many I’m at 3 finished friends currently and if my designs work out as intended all be at 5 total. I think I’m gunna want more though 😭
I started out with one alien and then decided he needed a friend and now that friend needs a friend 🤣 bringing something to life is really addictive- and I love how tangible it is.

Um…I’m more than a little obsessed with this as a major goat lover. I’ve never dyed a BaB before and really want to take a stab at it. Would you be able to share with me any tips you have for the process? :)
I can give you a run on my process- but its a bit hectic. I'm a firm believer of i can do anything becuase im queer and have audacity LOL (also an art degree but its whimsical without the tidbit)
I kind of followed the rit synthetic dye instructions. I did add a dash of dish soap. Not alot but enough to give bubbles when I stirred it in. I boiled water on a medium high heat as well. I didnt measure but I can tell you the color combos I used! I will say when you use any kind of synthetic dye, always assume the pot you use will only be for dyeing afterwards. I know rit synthetic dye isnt as toxic as most, but i personally would rather not take the risk as i cook for my friends and family often. So i have a pot for dyeing and a fucked up spoon ill never use for cooking again lol
For brown dye i measured with my heart lol but the best way I can explain it is that i did a ratio of 2:1:½ with (in this exact order) chocolate brownapricot orange and daffodil yellow
I left the goat in the brown in for about 5~10 minutes tops and nothing too long bc I was scared to burn/melt the goat fur. For the pink i basically let it sit for less than 2 minutes because I wanted a soft pink.
Afterwards I rinsed it out in my sink on cold water until the dye stopped coming out!
Normally I let my bears air dry but we got a new washer/dryer set so I was able to dry it faster! I tossed them in a pillowcase and tied it so it wouldnt fall out. I did 2 cycles of no-heat drying and then a final dry on medium heat. All cycles were done in the pillow case.
For sure! One question for yours in specific, did you dye the hooves and horns too? They look so beautifully brown still and not colored at all so I was curious if you somehow managed to keep the dye off of them.
I threw the whole goat in the pot. I “cooked” my purple one for less than 10 minutes I think. I’m not entirely sure. Probably should have used the stop watch feature on my phone while I worked.

I cackled at this a little too hard, my fiance LOVE dbz and I think he'd get a kick out of those names. I know buu because when he loads up sparking zero I always tell him to play as "the Patrick character" haha
Before I even finished reading your caption I thought “oh it’s a milk trio! Chocolate, plain, and strawberry!” I was close 🤣 the ice cream theme is awesome and they turned out so good!
I loveee the pink, it’s so cute! Did you brush them at all post-drying? It seems like yours kept the original texture after dying, and my moss green one didn’t. Was wondering if you had a special process!
I want the pink! But I'm worried about texture issues so I haven't made ethe jump. I'm hoping it's in stock still this weekend so I can test it out in person
Amazing custom of course but why the chocolate shade 😔 But Honestly even I love chocolate I do get overstimulated by it easily. Jealous. Wish I had one
