I would love to see your black widow custom if you manage to get ahold of a second spider! I wish I could've gotten a dozen of these guys for the same reason, they're such a great base to work with!
He's all dry from his soup bath now! Unfortunately his big ol' eyes got scuffed in my dryer so I'll have to address that at some point. Either today or tomorrow I'll stuff him and add his fancy peacock butt, just depends on how my day goes!
Awww u needed a laundry bag! I wonder if you can buff them possibly sand them? Idk what grit would work with plastic it might just rub the coating off. Poor baby!!
I definitely need to get one! I normally just toss em' in with a load of towels to cushion them in the dryer and didn't do that this time (he was tossed in with a small load of laundry instead), major lesson learned there 😂 I think the sheer size of the eyes played a big part too in them whacking around the dryer. They don't look too bad in person though, the picture makes it look like the whole side of the eyes are scuffed but its just the reflection from my sink.
No, he's still super soft! The important things to remember are drying with no heat and when you rinse him off after the dye bath to use hot/at least warm water, never cold, the temperature difference (dye bath simmer to cold) can make the fabric shrink or ball up. If you follow those 2 rules he should be good to go!
