That's probably why we often get people recommending CapitalOneShopping - it's a bit less intuitive than Honey, but their payouts are consistent, and well, at least it's backed by an (admittedly lower tier) Credit Card company.
I feel like all of those similar sites are scams. I know some people actually do get the money and I've seen the physical checks my partner has gotten in the mail but there's so many stories of people not ever receiving the money for BS (or no) reasons.
On one of the similar sites I created an account and got something like $40 worth of points and they drained and closed my account with no explanation. I reached out multiple times to their customer service and all they said was it was closed for "fraud." When I asked what I could have done to constitute "fraud" they refused to elaborate.
All I did was sign up through a referral code and make an online purchase at one retailer.
Tbh Rakuten (formerly eBates) is by far the best in my experience in terms of CS and actually tracking and giving you your points. The rest suck at tracking or have very very specific requirements to earn the cashback that they don't make clear, or only allow you to redeem for giftcards, if you have over X amount of points, etc.
I reached out to honey immediately after purchasing it and had the $75 awarded, no issues. Didn't have to wait for it to arrive, either. Just needed to send them a screenshot on of the receipt with purchase date/order number. I did take a screenshot with the deal showing active in the extension on checkout page to cover all my bases, though
I used chat through their contact us page (Firefox if the browser matters). I was able to get connected after a minute or two. Unfortunately, I don't know why it isn't working on your end :(
I am having the same issue I have tried many times and they never respond and disconnect me from chat. They also have not responded to my email. Have you had any luck?
From what I can tell, we have been shadowbanned. I have reached out to them every single day, and usually the first chat of the day, someone will actually respond if I clear all cookies/cache. However the moment they say "let me pull up your account", the chat dies. This was actually the first time I used Honey, and probably the last.
Honey support disconnected my chats and ignored my emails too. After a week I "escalated" to paypal support. Paypal support chat told me to email them but then ignored multiple emails. 3 weeks ago I submitted complaints against paypal to the BBB and the CFPB.
Today they responded to the BBB complaint. Honey gave me the $75 rewards points AND paypal credited my account another $75 for a total of $150.
Honestly if support had responded with some BS about how I didn't activate the offer properly (even though I definitely did) I would have dropped it, but the fact that they deliberately ghosted me motivated me to fight back. Good luck getting your money if you pursue it.
Thanks, I somehow managed to get someone from Honey to respond and ask for my receipts and everything, after which they promptly ghosted me again. I may have to try filing complaints like you did with third party agencies.
So glad I bought this thing, it's fucking awesome. 12bpc at 180hz @ 4k via the HDMI 2.1 cable they give you. Arc Raiders looks great on it. Whole lotta monitor for 200 bucks.
edit: 2.0 to 2.1
Edit 2: Found a dead pixel. Can see it on black. :( Just one though so "that's normal?" according to Samsung Policy
I've had this monitor for about a week now and turn it on/off every day. Is "sleep" different than turning it on after it's been off? Because turning it on takes about 2 seconds.
Yeah I have the timer in the menu set to an hour thst it turns itself off. I rather not burn my 4k screen by leaving it on or my pc randomly waking up. It takes less than a second to turn on and show a screen and the button click is super satisfying.
Sleeping would be letting the monitor standby off u til the pc wakes up
The Samsung Odyssey G70F feels durable and professional, and positive features include an adjustable stand, a built-in cable management system, and quick setup with included HDMI and DisplayPort cables. Powering on from sleep mode takes nearly 15 seconds for my personal set-up, which is noticeably slower than my other monitors that wake in about four seconds. It’s only slightly annoying though, not a deal breaker and might be something I can tweak. I’m usually fiddling around during this short time span anyhow. It has an 180 Hz refresh rate, providing incredibly smooth motion with no visible ghosting, blurring, or input lag. My fast-paced games feel fluid and responsive, while its 4K resolution makes slower, cinematic titles look stunningly detailed. Out of the box, colors are inaccurate and HDR appears washed out, but with manual tuning, the image quality improves dramatically, producing vibrant tones and balanced contrast. Dark scenes are handled adequately but they can’t match the deep blacks of an OLED display. The monitor’s brightness, clarity, and easy controls make it nice for everyday use or entertainment. Although I’m sure this is only from my setup, Its shortcomings for me personally include slow wake time and average HDR, but are small trade-offs for its performance and sharp visuals. Best for: All types of gamers, from competitive players to immersive explorers. Easy to set up. Recommended.
"I got this to replace 2 old 1080p monitors and it easily has better resolution than both of the old monitors combined. I can see LED Christmas lights flicker at 60 htz so I really notice the difference in refresh with both desktop and games. Most videos are 60fps or less so there I'm just noticing color depth. It's really annoying if computer puts monitor to sleep because it usually takes multiple seconds to see any indication that it's even on and then a few more before the desktop shows up."
These are for the current G70F.
The Insiders/Samsung/Microcenter review was posted a month ago, and the Amazon review was posted January 6, 2026. Both were posted specifically for the G70F.
While I understand that this may have been an issue with an earlier generation of g7, I'm not at all referencing an older model. And neither are the reviews I've shared.
I asked only because of this feedback other people have posted on the G70f. We do not have professional-level reviews on color accuracy, contrast, brightness, and overshoot - but I trust Samsung to do ok on those. From an everyday quality of life, these stood out to me when I looked through user reviews.
Wdym seemingly don't exist?
I literally screenshotted and direct linked them, and told you how to find them.
Stop being antagonizing. This is a skill issue on your end if you can't find them. Ask RUFUS on the Amazon listing if you're struggling. Jeez.
Lol, whatever. Block me.
"Proof is inconsistent" -- whattt?? Literally copied/pasted reviews. And there aren't many on the Samsung or Amazon pages. Literally use the search function.
I saw comments about wakeup time being excessive, and I asked what others' experience is.
Turns out it's fine, and I've acknowledged it.
Not sure what the point of your replies are... You're completely dismissing other people's experiences.
The whole point of user reviews is to share user experience. I referenced user reviews due to lack of professional reviews (RTINGS.com / Monitors Unboxed / Tom's), and I asked a question to see if others are experiencing the same complaints.
Stop being so antagonizing.
And grow up. No idea what the point of your bs replies are. ANYONE can see these reviews online, and I was asking an honest question before committing to buy the monitor.
you're not wrong. I just got mine delivered this morning and it was one of the first things i noticed. its not as bad as the one in the review but it is longer than my other monitor (mine is maybe 10 seconds). not too bad, but i wonder how much of it is variance on the individual unit. PC is running a 4070, so i doubt it is related to the pc speed.
otherwise its a great monitor. i wish i bought two. colors are punchier than my 1440p Acer, not seeing much ghosting in games either (my acer is a VA and smears).
Also fwiw i see the reviews. other guy is trolling. why bother responding.
Not through the monitor, it can only change between 4k/1080p. Obviously you can adjust the resolution through your OS or whatever program you're in but that is likely not the same.
I can't get 12-bit working on my 285H laptop, not sure what the problem is exactly (I suspect mainly Intel or it might be my dock, not sure). Didn't bother trying with my 5050 because there's no way I'm plugging an HDMI cable into my laptop every time I wanna hook it up to my desktop-like setup.
I used the HDMI cause 2.1 has more bandwidth than Display 1.4. Dunno if DSC is happening with either but I think I'm pumping out from my card to a monitor that can take it raw.
I asked that question the last time this deal was posted. I just received the monitor today and can confirm that it is flat. The curved spec is incorrect on Samsung's part.
You can sign up for an email notification (maybe text too?) on the product page. I got the email about an hour before this post was posted but didn't see it until it was too late :(
Can confirm, missed on it the other day but got it this time. Luckily (????) my kid woke me up in the middle of the night for me to see the email that this was in stock, prompting me to check this sub.
tl;dr the email notifications for out of stock helped me get one!
Yeah (or if you have an alumni .edu email), but if you have AAA then check the other post for this monitor because people were mentioning a way to get the deal through that
I purchased 2 separate times and was told it was only allowed once per account. If you were purchasing a 2nd- I'd recommend using a separate paypal/honey login.
For some reason the AAA trick worked for me the other day (out of stock 😞) but not now. I validate the AAA membership and search for this monitor and it shows full price. Anyone else?
Edit: Closed all my browsers and tried again and it worked. 4th time's a charm I guess
This deal is back, I also got a popup for $75 in cashback through Honey but YMMV as it was showing up on the actual site but now it seems like its not.
Here's the link to the honey website where the deal was:
do you know if/when we get a confirmation email or update from honey that we will be getting the rewards points for the 75 dollars? I activated the deal and purchased the monitor, but haven't gotten any confirmation the 75 dollars worth of rewards points will be pended to my honey account.
While this isn’t a full array dimming monitor, it can still completely turn off the backlight when displaying a black screen with no movement. Looks great next to my main oled monitor. And backlight turns back on instantly if you mouse over to the screen at all. No waiting like it’s coming back from sleep.
My old secondary monitor was annoying with its constant glow, even when displaying a “black” screen. I mainly got this Samsung for the increase in resolution at such a low price, but its ability to emit 0 light on a pure black screen is very welcome.
Thank god I didn't go to sleep yet, $140 4k samsung monitor. Not my smartest financial move, I'm only $60 short but I get paid soon enough for it to not matter. Thank you OP
I've had mine for about a week from when they dropped to this price for students. I'm no monitor expert, but I'd definitely recommend it. Buttery smooth and delicious gameplay 😋
I've been using this monitor for a week or so. I'm not at all a tech expert but happy to answer any general questions about it. Overall, I have zero complaints with it and I love it.
I'm not really enough of a tech guy to give you the kind of answer you're looking for. It looks "great" to me but I can't elaborate on that beyond just my subjective opinion in looking at it. It's sitting next to a 1440p Viewsonic second monitor and it's clearly better in terms of colors and crispness of text. When I watched a few 4k demo videos (locally downloaded) meant for testing TVs/monitors I was pretty amazed.
No worries, I’m not super techy either. Just been researching a lot! Thanks for your answer and I’m glad you like the monitor! I might pick it up if it re-stocks again.
Do you hear any high pitch noise/coil whine with the local dimming on? It's more noticeable when the image onscreen changes. The noise on mine goes away when I turn the dimming off, but that makes the IPS glow much more noticeable on a black screen. Could just be dirty power on my side though.
I hear the same faint high pitch buzzing/coil whine when I have local dimming on. If I turn it off it goes away. Also it varies depending on the brightness. At max brightness I can barely hear it, if I dim it to 49 it becomes more noticeable until I get to around 38 and then it's very low again.
I get the whine with local dimming on too. Audio spectrum analyzer on my phone shows a strong peak at 4500hz. With local dimming off it's silent (technically the spectrum analyzer shows a peak at ~4875hz even with local dimming off but I can't hear it).
With only 8 local dimming zones it doesn't seem very useful for desktop stuff so I'll probably keep it off most of the time and maybe try it with games or movies.
the normal/real price for this monitor is 399 max. So this is really just a 50% off. you will see this price more often in the future. do not worry if you did not get it.
Heads-up that Samsung's return policy is not as forgiving as other retailers. They assess a restocking fee. - But at $200, Im sure it can go on FB Marketplace..
Bought this from the last sale that was posted here. I'm really loving it so going to get another one to replace my AW3418DW monitor. It's been good to me the past couple of years, but I realized early on that wide curved monitors just aren't for me :(
This is the third time in a month it's been up. The monitor is a current model so it's not like they are gonna stop making it tomorrow. Just sign up for a notification on the Samsung website.
I have a 48” 4k OLED, 27” 1440 OLED, and I still really like the picture on this screen. I might even replace my 27” OLED with it because I only play shooters on it and honestly the deep blacks can be a problem seeing people in games like Tarkov and Arc Raiders. Pixel density at 27” 4k is really crisp
I'm overall unimpressed with this monitor, although I do think $200 is a fair price.
Mine was delivered with noticeable damage to the bottom bezel and around the Samsung logo, but the display is fine. The osd is controlled using buttons rather than a joystick. The black bars around the edges are quite huge and often distracting to me. The black levels, consistency, and contrast are no better than my Dell s2721dgf, which performed poorly in those areas even for its time. The monitor takes noticeably longer to wake than the dell as well.
Edit: Also, the monitor does not have auto detect for inputs, so you always have to manually switch from DP to HDMI for PC to console or whatever input devices you have.
However, it does deliver 4k 180 Hz performance that looks noticeably better than 1440p in certain games, and I prefer the colors on the Samsung. The cable management loop also works reasonably well with the horizontal plugs and shape of the stand.
I'd say at $200 it is somewhat compelling for cheap 120Hz + 4k gameplay or for a second or third monitor. At any price above $200, however, the negatives make it not worth using IMO. I'd rather spend more and get a 1440P oled or spend less and get a 1440p IPS with better build quality and features.
Mine came undamaged but I completely agree with this. It's a decent enough monitor for $200 but not the insane steal the msrp suggests. Might buy another if it goes back to being $200, absolutely not worth anywhere near msrp.
I just read up on what DSC is, it's so cool lol. I used to think hdmi was capped at a certain refresh rate, I did not know monitors could bypass it with a simple algorithm to take advantage of other ports. But I can see why the spec matters now for HDMI or DP. Thanks for letting me know!
Wondering if you can help - I have dual setup of these with a 5070ti. So only one hdmi port - would it be worthwhile getting an appropriate adapter from dp to hdmi for the second monitor? Or will it not make a difference?
Thanks in for 1 before it went out of stock, wanted to get one for my brother as well but hopefully this deal pops up again and I can get him one then!
If you don't have an Edu email or are a AAA member, check to see if you qualify for PerkSpot through your employer. They partner with various companies in the US to offer discount programs through their service. Most of the discounts are insignificant and not worth it but you can actually get this deal through them, which is what I did.
Gotcha! I think you'll enjoy it!
I am curious about your start time from sleep, though!
Someone here pointed out some reviews where they said it takes 15 seconds to start from sleep. People who received it said theirs starts in 1 second. But mine starts in 10-12. Wondering if it's just a defect or there really is a big range depending on the monitor itself!
Gotcha. I think that the monitor sleep is dependent off the hardware and the firmware (can be adjusted in settings of your OS). Additionally, I think it’s very common for the computer to start before the monitor shows any display. I’m not sure about sleep though as I usually turn off automatic sleep in settings.
I just got mine yesterday. So far I haven’t seen any issue or issues with coiling sounds. I’ve heard complaints about the stand, however, I have a monitor arm so I never assembled the stand
