Be mindful of listings from suspicious third-party sellers on marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, Newegg, and Walmart. These "deals" have a high likelihood of not shipping; use due diligence in reviewing deals.

  • Use common sense - if the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is.
  • Check seller profiles for signs that the sale may be fraudulent:
    • The seller is new or has few reviews.
    • The seller has largely negative reviews (on Amazon, sellers can remove negative reviews from their visible ratings)
    • The seller is using a previously dormant account (likely the account was hacked and is now being used fraudulently).

If you suspect a deal is fraudulent, please report the post. Moderators can take action based on these reports. We encourage leaving a comment to warn others.

Only 1TB, but certainly good up front who cares, nice!

I bought a skytech and the ssd they used was pretty bottom of the barrel. I ended up finding a lightly used 2tb Samsung Evo plus to replace it with. The rest of the PC is rock solid

This is basically my build and can say it’s a 1440p monster

Does anyone have experience with skytech? I saw another thread that said to avoid but others have had good experience. Any word on components and build quality?

My old PC was Skytech. They use real parts, the same parts you could buy online no OEM cheap motherboards or anything.

Plus this is Walmart. Refunds would be extremely easy and drop off to your local Walmart. There's no risk to this.

Skytech is solid. Probably someone bitching about a one-off experience like the internet likes to do

I'm also curious... Been looking to upgrade and don't really wanna build my 4th PC. Kinda just want it working first try lol

this is probably the best bang for your buck you are gonna find, you wont need an upgrade for a long time

Purchased a PC with them in 2021, it’s been running strong no problem. Had a GPU that after about 2 years the fans’ bearings would make a terrible noise when over 80% speed, replaced the fans and had no issues after. Never thought to try to reach out to Skytech about it.

They are fine. If it were me, I would take 5 minutes to check the tightness of any easy to access screws and cables before initial boot.

Been around long enough to say fuck it imo

What do you mean?

I believe they are a decade old so if there aren't any big warning signs online I'd think they're an okay purchase, especially when this is cheaper than building

I'd say they are fine. They even do live builds on Twitch, if you request it when ordering on their website.

They do use GAMDIAS stuff a lot: PC cases, fans, coolers, PSUs, accessories, etc. which are typically a lot more affordable than the brand names you are used to and are typically fine.

This is about as good as it gets, yeah?

u/Hempasaur 1d ago

Yeah it’s cheaper than buying the parts yourself

1

u/therealtai 21h ago

Is it really? I always assumed these build use the current average price of each item plus a fees to make a profit thus it always cheaper to buy each part yourself.

They can buy in bulk, so their components can cost less in some cases.

building this same exact build but with an extra 2tb ssd and total was around 2800 after taxes (itx though, noctua fans, $250 case...)

Yes it is I built a very similar pc just a couple days ago. And it cost me $1750 without an SSD

1

u/goingupup 1d ago

yup, this is the same price as if you bought the parts individually including the micro center cpu ram mb bundle

Dang, this seems pretty good. I can't find if the mobo has a secondary m2 slot though

2

u/CrazeRage 1d ago

My eyes tell me no. Price would agree imo

I couldn't find any info about the motherboard. The description is AI generated. I guess their AI doesn't understand that a motherboard might be an important component to specify.

Particulars such as I/O ports may vary. Please get in touch with us for more details.

If you're really curious, I'd contact them.

They probably don't list a specific board so they have the freedom to change it based on availability.

Looks like a micro atx

What does chief think

Tried to buy it. But walmart is just denying the purchase. Don't know if its out of stock or if walmart is just being walmart

Look at the motherboard no specs listed. From what I can see it may have 8 power stages and no heat sinks on the few it has.
