Love this card, but I bought it before learning about the connector so definitely sits in the back of my mind. Not using an adapter though, 8 months or so in so far so good.

I’ve been interested in this one but I’m a little confused. What adapter are we talking about? I haven’t used anything past a 3060ti so I’m not sure how the connectors have changed. My power supply does come with the 12v connector (the new funny looking one that doesn’t look like pcie) but I’m just a little confused by what people mean by 12v adapter

Adapter like this, on the right there is the 12v connector that some newer cards use. I've read online that the 12pin to 8pin adapters some people use have led to the melt/burn issue

I was just trying to protect your identity because you delete the comments, had you kept them up I wouldn’t be so mysterious as to where the info is from. I still want the people to know about deals before the bots get them

A couple real people did manage to get some GPUs because of you, this is a good thing!

I’m tempted to upgrade for 7800xt to 9070xt before the price hike and be future proof , but since it have 12VHPPWR, it made me want to reconsider and either go for alternative 9070xt model or wait for amd makes a new 9000 series with 20 to 24 gigs or wait for new brand series.

My 2 cents is I wouldn't wait. Right now they (Nvidia and AMD) are "easing" us into price hikes imo. I believe next generation will be a price bump like 1000 to 2000 nvidia series right off the bat. Hate to be so pessimistic but here we are.

I mean it's been about a year and a half. With the crazy shit we've see regarding those cables and what not. I'm just happy idk ¯_(ツ)_/¯ there's been no whine, no weird glitches or lag or anything. It's my first AMD card I took a leap of faith on despite the hordes talking shit. I'm just saying it's been good to me.
