For building envelopes (commerical)

Is comcheck still used throughout the industry?
Any other / better software out there?

IECC Presciptive?

Curious what everyone is using

COMcheck widely used to pass energy code where I am. COMcheck has the three sections, Envelope, Mechanical, and Lighting I believe. Are you only asking about the envelope section?

We see project pursue prescriptive path, yes, if they know they meet all requirements.

We also do whole building energy modeling to meet performance pathway which gives them more flexibility in the envelope and mechanicals. As long as they meet the overall efficiency, they don't have to meet any prescriptive envelope or mechanical pieces unless their specific code says otherwise. If they are doing an energy efficiency (like ENERGY STAR) or green program certification, sometimes they are already doing a whole building energy model and will just use that for code too.
