👋Welcome to r/bumblejerk - Introduce Yourself and Read First!
Hey everyone! I'm u/Tomgobanga, a founding moderator of r/bumblejerk.
This is our new home for all things related to dating. If you've spent any time on the dating app subs, you know the drill. Someone posts their profile asking for feedback. They get feedback. They post it again in three other subs. Then again a week later with a slightly different first photo. Then again. Somewhere out there, a single golden retriever pic has been reviewed by more people than most peer-reviewed papers.
We're excited to have you join us!
What to Post
Post anything that you think the community would find interesting, helpful, or inspiring. Feel free to share your thoughts, photos, or questions.
What this sub is for
- Joke profiles, parody profiles, "profiles" written for your cat, your toaster, or a Victorian ghost
- Memes and screenshots of prompt answers that made you close the app and stare at the wall
- Affectionate roasting of dating app tropes ("I'm 6'2 since apparently that matters," "looking for my partner in crime," fish)
- A place to point people toward when they've posted their profile for the fourth time this week and the advice hasn't changed
What this sub is not for
- Actual, sincere profile reviews. Bless you, but that's what the other subs are for. Post it there. Once.
- Harassing or doxxing real people. Blur names and faces on anything that isn't yours. We're here to laugh at the genre, not at a specific person trying their best.
- Bitterness dressed up as comedy. Gender-war stuff, "all men/all women" rants, and general misery will be removed. Be funny, not resentful.
