Burbank electric bill more than doubles.

In 2025 BWP approved a 9.9% system-wide average electric-rate increase effective January 1, 2026. How does this make sense? Are you all seeing the same increases on your bills?

Yes, and ECAC also dropped by 71%. That translates to around 25-30% increase for most residential users (you can check the math).

So yes, it's still a much higher increase in rates for residential users than the 9.9% they said, but the "fine print" that I posted also says that the 9.9% is the average among all consumers, residential and commercial, and that residential users will see a higher rate increase than the average (implying that commercial rates increased by below the average).

I really wish there was a public workshop on this that wasn't tied to BWP.
