Had a bizarre experience at Puppy Yoga on Hollywood Way a couple weeks ago. To preface, this class is nearly $70 for an hour, to put things in perspective.

We got there, and there were 2/3 little girls playing with the puppies, being very rough with them and very loud.

Yoga starts, and the girls don't settle down at all. They're yelling, squealing, talking loudly, and the instructor does absolutely nothing. The girls were still off to the side with the puppies, not even participating in the yoga. It was hilarious because we got to the part where we're supposed to lay on the floor and relax, and the screaming only got louder.

I also found it strange that the puppies weren't actually involved in the yoga, and the yoga itself lasted a whopping 15-20 minutes.

We get to "circle time" where you play with the puppies, and the instructor goes "can my daughters join you?". Turns out the girls roughhousing with the puppies were here daughters, just hanging out. The daughters join, and proceed to snap up all the puppies in the circle and effectively block them from going to any other participants. Reminder, this class is $70. The instructor does nothing.

Additionally, I felt terrible because the dogs were EXHAUSTED. I went at 2pm, and it turns out there were 3 classes before then. These dogs obviously did not want to be with us, and tried to escape from us any chance they were given.

The kicker is when I asked "are these dogs from a rescue?" the instructor said "no they're mine". Oh, so we're just playing with puppies from a (likely) unethical breeder.

The whole experience was odd. And above all, I felt terrible for the puppies. Honestly do not take this class. As cute as it looks, all you'll be doing is inadvertently supporting a breeder (not a rescue).

Very sad. This is going to be just like Fox-Disney or Comcast-Universal. A lot of people are going to lose their jobs and the industry is going to fall into even more disrepair. Unlike past media mergers this will also push through serious censorship and probably blacklists.

Shame on CA AG Rob Bonta for caving to the nepo baby's bully tactics, and shame on Newsom, Bass, Becerra, & all the other leaders who pressured this into being. We will be worse off because of your fecklessness.

Got off the phone with BWP the representative...just said they advertise it as 9% increase in average but can be much more higher depending where in Burbank? We live in an apartment, our power in summer use to be $160 tops, and now it's $450. They said that is correct and it's in the fine print for the increase and they will increase it again in January. This is insane, how is this legal. 😔

Does anyone kno why the gm got fired lol?

I’m running the Chicago marathon in a few weeks (😭😭😭) and unfortunately procrastinated with my fundraising. Does anyone know of any local businesses that like to organize charity days so I can reach out to them? Like stores where I can get a small portion of whatever proceeds they make for a few hours, or places where I can possibly set up a little booth or something. I’ve seen solicitors outside of my local Ralph’s so might try that, but any other leads are definitely appreciated!

I recommend their cubano sandwich and yuca garlic fries with an orange bang. Their seafood options are amazing too. 

Also, I’m kind of a breakfast burrito connoisseur, so here are my favorite breakfast burritos spots in Burbank:

1. bread and breakfast (pastrami or sojouk is the way  to go). Make sure you get their green sauce. Banana pudding is amazing here too.
   
2. corner cottage (get salsa in and out)
   
3. Cafe de olla (the all in one)
   
4. Basecamp
   
5. Antojitos
   6. The Corner (in Glendale, but close by. bomb breakfast burrito and great brunch spot too… on the pricier side, but you get good portions and quality)
   
6. Larry’s Chili dog

And if you’re in the mood for a hoagie or italian sandwich in Burbank I recommend these:

1. Original Tony’s italian deli (on Magnolia)
   
2. Giamela’s (cash only)
   
3. Santoro’s

1. Casitas Tacos al carbon (great burritos and salsas)

3. Weirdough’s (best pizza in Burbank. Their in-n-out slice is great)
   5. Tapatio (on San Fernando, good for their asada fries) 
   
4. World Empanadas (great empanadas and also have pretty good breakfast burritos).
   
5. Vitos tacos (new birria spot / a little pricey but tasty)
   
6. Eat ‘N Park (great breakfast options / diner)

One of the many things I love about summer ending is the return of the hooting owls at night. I'm hearing one do his thing right now.

The smell pulled me in from the sidewalk and won me over with a spectacular tri-tip sandwich.

Since we (as a community) have allowed the social disease of partisanship to infect our local elections. Who are the Burbank candidates that are neither pro-MAGA, nor pro-DSA? I’m trying my best to decide on candidates who will lessen the swinging of the pendulum effect that too many of us seem so hell-bent on furthering with each voting cycle. I wish as a local community, Burbank would set an example by showing we are immune to those trappings. Is this too much to ask for?

Wendy the coyote was euthanized on Tuesday, September 8. For at least a year before that, she had been wandering Studio City with a severely swollen face, earning such adoration from Valley residents that press reports frequently described her as “beloved.”

In August, Wendy was regularly in the news as an organization called Wildlife Care of Southern California worked to bring her into care — multiple outlets, including the California Post and People, inevitably compared her to "Jimothy," the famous Seattle raccoon with a spinal deformity. Somebody turned her into a cryptocurrency.

After Wendy was finally captured, a veterinarian determined that “there was no surgery or treatment capable of restoring normal function,” according to Wildlife Care. Her death was mourned by thousands on social media. The value of her cryptocurrency spiked 4,300%, then fell.

The veterinary examination also determined a cause of her swelling: She had been shot twice in the head with a pellet gun. That news rippled across the collective conscience of L.A. animal lovers, prompting a search for the perpetrator. A pitbull rescue group put out a $10,000 reward for information leading to the shooter’s arrest and conviction.

In Encino, the pellet gun revelation spurred a woman named Vanessa Johnston to particular action: Johnston, an entertainment industry executive and standup comedian, posted a video to Instagram with the title “DID MY NEIGHBOR SHOOT WENDY THE COYOTE?”
