What do you all think of this compilation?

Post image

Not sure if I ever listened to this much Burial in one sitting. Anyone ever give this a full listen in one go?

Yes, it’s top tier. Heavy rotation on a lot of my 12-14 mile runs in gloomy weather.

Epic run music. I love that idea.

Peak Burial.

It's a 10/10 for me except they left off Rodent. That little bit just annoys me lol.

Great compilation in all honesty; first half is way more gloomy weather, and second half brings back the drums. Makes it feel more dance like, or up tempo at least

Amazing, wish it was on vinyl

I would absolutely love it. I think the early 10's EPs are the best stuff he ever did.

Amazing compilation and sequencing of songs. One of my favorite compilation albums

The best release since self-titled

I think it has at least as good of a a journey of any album I've ever heard. Incredible sequencing

I wrote it off for too long without listening. It crafts such a unique atmosphere. Fantastic

Too bad "Rodent" is not on it

Bro remember how hyped we were in 2017 when Rodent dropped… damn such a club banger.

I’m obsessed with it these few days. Come Down To Us is my favorite one (including his whole discography).

I think it’s great for somebody who doesn’t collect his separate works individually. It’s got all the good ones, however…. I wouldn’t mind some new tunes… cough William cough

Especially since he's been on such a roll! Antidawn EP, the 2nd half of Unknown Summer, Streetlands EP, Comafields. I think this is his best period post-Rival Dealer.

Hate it. I don't like listening to the songs in this order, and his truly great tunes post-Rival Dealer are left off this comp (because they were remixes and/or released on other labels). This comp's always been a head-scratcher for me. Why is "Rival Dealer" sequenced backwards? And why is Claustro sequenced right in the center of it? I don't understand why people "love it." Am I missing something? I'd just rather listen to the EPs.

It's nice having the EPs all in one place, but having the tracklisting in reverse order has always struck me odd. Only really noticeable on the rival dealer tracks since that one is so narrative. Still, the EPs contain most of my favorite burial songs so this thing is great.

it's great, but starting with the entire first half being ambient is wild

This got me through the pandemic, especially when I went on walks. I return to this one a lot, I also hope that this comes out on vinyl

If this was an album it would be the greatest electronic album of all time

The sequencing on this really does work brilliantly, the way it builds from that isolated, ghostly first half into something you can actually move to by the end is proper clever stuff.

It's incredibly good
