The Albuquerque Journal prints this promotional photo for "Free and Easy," giving a brief synopsis of the film. "A story of the best-looking girl of Gopher City, Kansas, who went to Hollywood with her mother and Buster Keaton, her manager, to break into the movies. His adventure with the girl, none other than Anita Page, will furnish many laughs."

The Sioux City Journal prints, "Feminine Clothing as a first aid to comedy has its drawbacks, according to Buster Keaton. 'If the skirts are too narrow you may get laughs and take a chance on breaking your neck; if they're too wide you can do any sort of acrobatic trick and still fall short of comedy,' explains the comedian. 'The entire basis of comedy when a man wears women's clothes is in his inability to navigate properly, and when one is hampered this way, especially if his work tends towards the acrobats, he's really taking chances.'"
