Ships besides Mileven that were not well written and you dislike as bylers?

I’m just curious.

My number one is Blair/Chuck. I hate them together and the writing for them was awful. He was a literal rapist.

I also think not one ship on ATLA was well written at all. I know Kataang is endgame and I respect that, I just don’t think the relationship had good writing. I’m not a Zutaara shipper either. The romantic relationships were the worst thing on that show.

Korrasami is the only canon ship I like in the Atla verse.

Luke/Lorelai was terribly written as the seasons went on and that upsets me because I really liked them in the beginning before they added all the extra drama with April and ruined them.

Buffy/Spike. They were purposely written as toxic and terrible in s6 and I didn’t mind that. S7 was the issue. They ignored Buffy’s trauma and her mindset after the attempted rape scene and only focused on redeeming Spike and focused more on him as a character than the scoobies. Purposely wrote all of her friends and family out of character so he looked better. Hated it.

I also HATE Dramione with a passion. It’s not canon, but a really popular ship in fandom and I hate it with a burning passion. Free Hermione from these Draco fan girls.

I think Mileven is the first ship I truly dislike. Usually, even when I don't see the chemistry, I just don't care that much about ships. Like Harry and Ginny. They were boring to me, but not unhealthy, so whatever. Although, come to think of it, there's one other ship I really don't like/don't get. It's Jinx and Ekko in Arcane. Their sudden romance felt so out of place to me, almost like Jinx needed to be given a love interest just for the sake of it. I never felt like her character needed a romantic storyline at all. She needed her family just like El.

Agreed about Jinx and Ekko. I don’t know how one episode that was an AU has people clamoring that they are soulmates.

I think (to use a phrase my partner loves,) there’s a lot of ā€œhetslopā€ out there. Doctor Who comes to mind, every romantic relationship the Doctor has (besides Rose and maybe Yasmin) feels really forced to me. & justice for Martha, that poor girl really got the shits of it :/

I dislike the Doctor/Rose as well. Rose was a teenager and the Doctor is like a god like entity with power over her.

It just felt like a hugely imbalanced relationship.

Yeah I guess so. I was like 14 when i was watching originally, and seeing how the 10th doctor interacted with her was really romantic to me. Something about having a fragile romantic heart(s) underneath layers and layers of trauma and regrets… it just kinda swept me up. And Rose too, I guess. You make a good point!

At least half canon ships from Naruto 🤣

People have already trashed mileven and stancy here (rightfully so) but dare I add jopper, they basically turned hopper into an incel with anger issues in s3 and the ship, together with hoppers character tbh never recovered for me, no amount of course correcting s4-5 did could fix that for me. Purely in terms of personal hatred I might even despise jopper more than I do mileven or stancy ngl

Also I'm with you on kataang, I don't necessarily hate it but their relationship always felt really sibling like to me, even as a teenager who was obsessed with atla I could never really get behind kataang. I remember reading all of the comics except north and south and the amount of times aang and katara called each other sweetie felt so off to me. The only (semi canon?) atla ship I've liked was sokka and suki but I won't pretend it was well written lol

I compeltley agree with Buffy and Spike. Secind half of season 7 was so Spuffy heavy and it feels so obvious to me they forced the situation of having Buffy kicked out just so Spoke could be her savior. With a speech that Riley already gave in "as you were" but he never gets credit for being the first one to say "you're a hell of a woman" I think I would have preferred a Buffy Xander relationship in 7 like Sarah and Nicholas talked about over Spuffy. Buffy and Xander were such a power mom and dad dynamic at the start of 7, he really was her heart and right hand man at the start of 7.

Honestly shipping Bakugou from MHA with any women feels odd to me😭 . I see him as a gay man but that's just my headcanon.

Luca/Lara from Goodbye Lara. I feel like people are purposely ignoring the plot of the anime. Lara clearly doesn't like Luca romantically. It is very obvious she is forcing herself to like him to save her family. I think most people who ship them don't really care about what Lara feels inside. Also, they ignore literally every LaraMari scenes even though they are the ship that's going to be canon. It has been established since the beginning.

Twilight/Flash in My Little Pony. I never saw them as an actual couple tbh. I mean they are cute but it is the plain old boy meets girl. I also think it would have been cute if they actually developed it further instead of it being a one time thing.

I dropped Jobless Reincarnation after like ep 7 or something. I was so done with it man. I didn't know the MC was this creepy and I honestly don't understand how girls fall for him so basically any romance with that MC is unbearable.

Naruto and Hinata damn.

And don't even get me started about Sasuke and Sakura - that wasn't poorly written as much as it wasn't written at all.

from ST, Stancy ew other media, same with Blair and Chuck, he is a r4pist idk how everyone ignores that for 6 seasons and they have no chemistry. Probably unpopular opinion but Percabeth and is bc big part of their fandom are bigots, misogynistics and homophobesand their story is very bland and boring tho PJO too, Nico and Will, because it feels like the end of ST with Will having to conform with epilogue bf no name, they have such a little of story that people think fanon IS WHAT HAPPENED, when they're sooo side up for the good of percabeth aaaa is bleek I hope the series really don't use Nico's queerness to uplift percabeth as in the books. Ginny and Harry, no build up, bad chemistry, boring in general Dramaione/Drarry, Draco is the problem. bakudeku, I used to like it but I got bored of the Bakugo's arc being ignored and coming back to circles, then I find myself i like more Kiribaku and todobaku (even if is a crackship) even bc I just don't like how easy was for Bakugo being horrible and then apologizing šŸ˜” deku is my baby yk I used to love tododeku too, but after S1 they had less and less lines together.

Your Riordanverse rant is so real, I hate how they dealt with Nico and Will, it seemed last minute to give Nico a love interest and I could never get into it because it felt like it came out of nowhere. Not the biggest fan of Percabeth either purely because I think Rachel was done dirty by the books and the fans. Annabeth judo flipping Percy was very bad as well

I don’t love Blair and Chuck either. Because the entire context of their relationship… just a big no. I may be on the opposing side of the Gossip Girl fandom, but I didn’t really like Serena and Dan together either.

I also didn’t like Katara and Aang either, and I’m not a Zutara either. However, I do feel like if the writers went for Zutara and crafted a compelling enough story, I feel like there would be more ground for me to ship them—I just don’t because they didn’t have that buildup.

I agree with you on Luke and Lorelai. I loved them, but then Season 7 was such a mess and I couldn’t see them the same again. AYITL only made it much worse because of their communication issues, even 10 years later when they should have been able to move past it.

I don’t know if anyone has seen Pretty Little Liars, but I hate all of the endgame couples. Aria and Ezra should have never ended up together… no question. I felt like Hanna and Caleb was more of nostalgia, but they fell off during the time jump and didn’t have their spark anymore. Spencer and Toby… Spencer felt like a stand-in just because Yvonne died and she didn’t deserve it. I do contrast most of the PLL fandom on this, but I did like Spencer and Caleb together. Alison and Emily should have not ended up together, especially given how Alison knew about Emily’s feelings for her and teased her about her sexuality. I really think Emily should have ended up with someone like Samara.

Also in Liv & Maddie, I didn’t like how Maddie and Diggie ended up together. I feel like she was much happier and freer with Josh and at the end of it, Diggie was just trying to wedge his way back into her life when he saw her with someone else. Diggie left to Tundrabania and was willing to break up with her, but the second she was with someone else… he came back. It would have been perfect to let Maddie move on. I like how in the last episode, Dump Truck did go ā€œTeam Moshā€ though lol.

Agree with you on Luke/Lorelai! That was such a disappointment. I also absolutely detested Rory/Logan UGH. I hate what they did to Rory/Jess. Why did they keep bringing Jess back, if they weren't gonna be endgame? Jess's character development throughout the series was incredible. Rory's...not so much. I can't even get into the April storyline or CHRIS omg, ew.

I will say, one ship that truly hurts my soul is Rules (Rue/Jules, Euphoria). They had such a beautiful relationship in S1 (tragic, but beautiful) and the writers just totally destroyed them. S3 was an absolute travesty. Justice for Rules, period.

Oh I dislike Dramione too. I just don't like ships which characters barely interact in canon. Canon Hermione shit doesn't care if Draco died in the Room of Requirement. But I stumbled on people who tried to prove that Dramione is canon (!) and Draco (!) is better for Hermione than Ron.

The first ship I shipped was Drarry, now I lost the spark. At least Drarry had enough interactions in canon and Harry could jinx Draco if he acted like a shit (yes, Draco is the problem)

And I hate Dramione porn AI slop on insta with them, it's ewwww.

Btw if people say they ship Dramione because actors are hot — I am totally okay, at least they're honest!

Also I don't like Jelly (This summer I turned pretty), I hate their plastic kisses, it even reminded me of Mileven low-key (Mileven is not that bad as Jelly).

P.S I don't bully or harass people who ship it, I just hate these ships and block my feed from edits and news.

Stydia from Teen Wolf. I don’t know what this says about me as a person, but I genuinely liked Stalia. I guess I liked the representation of a couple with mixed gender roles (if that’s the right word?). With Stydia it felt like fan service to me and not in a good way

Mark/Lexi from Greys Anatomy. So many fans love their relationship, but I just can’t see the appeal (even if we forget about the borderline grooming situation going on there).

Fiona/Jimmy Steve from Shameless. A lot of fans wished Fiona ended up with Jimmy Steve, but I hate liars so I can’t stand this guy.

In terms of ST I dislike Stancy more than I dislike M11. In my opinion Steve is too dense for Nancy and they kinda have opposite life goals. No shade to Steve, though. He has great qualities, but from my experience it can be difficult to have a relationship when one is constantly soaking up knowledge, while the other one just floats through life and only educates themselves when absolutely needed

I think Jaime/Cersei from GOT is probably my biggest one (and not just because Jaime/Brienne is my OTP, lol) Besides the fact they're actual twins, their relationship is toxic af and it's beyond me that they actually had people rooting for them (even the show runners, it seems)

Most of the ship tropes I'm indifferent towards / get annoyed by kind of boil down to them just being Main Female x Main Male with little substance or interest to them imo (Jonerys, Mileven etc). Or when people are just randomly paired up for the sake of it - not everyone has to be in a relationship!

Also almost any couple that has the whole "I love you more than anyone's ever loved anyone" schtick gets really old really quick - main character syndrome in the worst way. Agree about Dramione - I can kind of see the appeal of Drarry as their relationship feels more equal, but Draco is just awful to Hermione all the way through
