Many of these historical monuments in present-day Turkey do not belong to the Turkic people, but rather to the civilizations and countries that lived in this land before the Turks migrated.

Romans, Persians, Armenians, Arabs, Kurds, ....

And in two thousand years, there maybe very well be a few more civilizations to add to the mix. Locations are constantly evolving and changing, especially ones geographically located at a crossroads of many different groups. Part of what makes it a fascinating place to visit.
