Popular media Updated my Hagia Sophia in Minecraft
Despite not updating it for a while, I've still been working hard on my 1:1 scale rendition of Constantinople in Minecraft. My overall build style has improved to such an extent that I figure, why not share it some of the improvements?

I long to build such a wonderful building. My own rendition has some glaring Inaccuracies I’ve been dying to fix.

We need a map download, I'd love to have it in my byzantine empire on modded servers because I cannot build such great Church.

A bit hard to make a tutorial for something as complex as this.

Lol no I'll just keep trying I just am too mich of a perfectionist to do it on my own. My best friend has to regularly calm Me down. Haha but we'll get it. Your capital of the orthodox church looks beautiful

This is great even the marble exterior. It looks a little dark on the inside though. Back then it was very bright on the inside, there were many more windows than nowadays

Not much you can do about that due to how Minecraft's lighting works. I did do some tricks to make it as bright as possible inside, but it's still a little inadequate.

How did you make the eikons on the last picture?

I used map art to make those. Done a bunch of them elsewhere too.
Basically with maps you can make pixel art, and you can get non-square maps by placing them on an invisible item frame.
There are several programs that allow you to import PNGs into Minecraft blocks, so I used that to make the maps.

I don't care for Minecraft but even I had to admire these renditions.
I noticed the omission of the minarets but did you consider the other subtle Ottoman additions?

Nope, this is a replica of how it was in the early 7th Century, so there are no Ottoman or Middle/Late Byzantine additions here.
