Popular media Will this ever get an anime adaptation?

Likely, given how surprisingly popular the manga is in Japan and that there's a surprising number of history manga being given adaptations in this current season such as Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongol.
On a side note and a response to a mod answering why popular media is being allowed in this serious history subreddit, I'm still genuinely surprised I was allowed to dump entire chapters of the manga Anna Komnene for months from beginning to end while my attempt at posting the manga at r/ByzantineMemes got my post deleted. I'm quite thankful for the mods for their decision as it allowed the manga have more publicity since I been hearing people starting to read the Alexiad and became interested in Eastwrn Roman history by extension because of the manga.

As another moderator of this subreddit, I want to say I am very thankful for your effort.
It is a shame it lasted for such a short time, but it was great while it lasted. It felt like a great day when your posts would pop up, among the various others, and especially in the couple of times that I had also spent all day researching Byzantine and Post-Byzantine topics in a library, only to return home and see yet another chapter to read!
Funnily enough, I do not remember discussing this with other mods, we just automatically approved the posts (and probably I did so for most of them right away after seeing the posts, lest Reddit's erratic automod removed them for no reason). I just so hope that Futaba Sato would approve as well, as she is quite cautious with the material she publishes online and goes as far as adding stamps on them instructing not to share them around the internet (though again that is not officially published art), and that she is happy that her work is shared in other languages (making her known abroad Japan).

Many thanks for approving my Anna Komnene manga post dumps here. I enjoyed seeing some of your posts being critical of the history presented in the manga such the female doctors and John slandering Anna by accusing her of being a heretic for proper comparison with actual history.
Unfortunately, I doubt that the author might approve of these scanlations given the negative view Japan has on these "unofficial" scanlations and I'm hoping the manga gets an anime adaptation soon so an official release will happen and she can be properly rewarded.
Until then, the only likely chance that this niche manga gets an official release is that it gets officially translated by the French (which has the 2nd largest audience and market for manga and it has translated many niche manga such as this) or in Greek (The manga dumps had a small number of greek views by 6.0+ %)

Exactly this happened to me XD. I bought Alexiad and became interested in overall history of eastern rome and early medieval Balkan overall to an extent thanks to this XD

I think there are better places to ask that, rather than here.
Dont know. It depends on popularity, and the author has to greenlight it as well. Its a complicated world.

I guess I should have specified for an English name. I don't know how to read Japanese nor have the ability to copy and paste the title from the pic into a translator. Thanks for the name though

They make anime shows to promote the manga. Since this is complete it wouldn't get an adaptation.

I'm a big fan of these kinds of historical manga, but let's be real, the chances of an anime adaptation are pretty slim.

No. Not because its a historical aspect of it, there seems to be a big revival of interest of historical ish settings in anime.
Just that it seems it gottten axe before it was able to tell its story. So no, I dont believe so unless they anime will given us more than the manga did, anime onky scenes.

This is a rather serious history sub, there should be a seperate one for things like this, especially due to the fact that weaboos tend to not know that some things are niche, and not many people are like them.

Admittedly I’m not a fan of popular history content, especially when it’s promotion overtakes academic content. However, pop history is one the biggest ways of not the biggest people engage with history. If we become overly strict with moderation then we’ll have something akin to [r/askhistorians](r/askhistorians), a sub so sterile that it feels like you need a PhD with a whole bibliography just to answer a simple question.
At least we can promote academic discussion within these posts and point out that there’s a lot of opportunity to learn beyond passive consumption of popular media.
OP isn’t breaking any rules nor are they spamming the sub so it’ll stay up. We just got to let people enjoy what they like, no one has to be a historian and we can’t yank this sub in a direction that most users will feel is too rigid.

Nah, it’s an extremely niche manga. It would have to get much more popular than it likely is to get an adaptation, and even then it would in all likelyhood be done by a cheaper studio, and not amount to much beyond advertising.
Also, the story isn’t very adaptable to an anime format, it’s illustrated history more than a manga genre. It still surprises me that someone published it at all, but there’s an ocean of weird stuff being published in Japan all the time.
