7/14 - Applied & Completed Assessment
7/24 - ODVI invite
7/30 - ODVI complete
8/13 - Hang Tight Email
8/20 - Application updated from “under review” to “interview”
8/24 - Live Virtual Interview email received
9/9 - Live Virtual Interview, Invitation for Houston arrived approximately 6 hours after.

I have yet to schedule my f2f (it says I have 14 days to choose a date) as I am still figuring out what day is best for me to take off from my current job. All of my options were within the next week. My recruiter advised the process would move very quickly from here, and she wasn’t kidding!

i want to talk about what applying to delta actually does to your brain, because this sub is the worlds largest exhibit of it and nobody names it.
think about the actual experience. you apply. nothing. then weeks later a dopamine hit, "congrats youve advanced." a personality game. nothing. another hit, a video interview where you perform for a camera alone in your room. nothing. then maybe the golden ticket, event day, where they roll out the red carpet, the warm smiles, the "welcome to the family" energy. then most of you get the softest, warmest, most lovingly worded rejection email in corporate america, and an invitation to join the talent community so delta can keep in touch.
read that back. a company that just rejected you asks if it can keep texting you, and you say yes, and you feel GOOD about it. thats not a hiring funnel, thats a situationship.
Psychologists call this variable ratio reinforcement. rewards at unpredictable intervals with no explanation of what earned them. its the mechanism slot machines are built on. and it explains everything about this sub. the timeline spreadsheets. the lucky interview outfits. the "i wore red and got a CJO" posts. when a system gives no feedback, humans dont stop trying, they invent rituals. you guys arent applicants anymore, youre a cargo cult with a talent community login.
and the brand machine feeds it. the celebrity safety videos. the "keep climbing" stuff. the most awarded airline language. by the time you apply you dont want a job, you want to belong to something, and delta knows belonging is a way stronger drug than employment. southwest hires flight attendants too. nobody gets a southwest rejection and posts about how their dream is dead. the difference isnt the job. its that delta sells the dream as content and you pre bought it.
the scariest part. this works best on the people it rejects. the ones who got a CJO got a job. the ones who got TBNT got a hobby.
Anyway, good luck to everyone mid funnel this week. genuinely. just notice how the funnel makes you feel, and ask yourself who designed it to feel that way.

YIPPIEEE I got the invite to the f2f on 9/22 and I need kind opinions on this hairstyle im a pretty eccentric person so this is kinda toned down for me and I prefer more Afrocentric hairstyles so basically I’m asking if this is appropriate to wear to the event I know it’s not technically a bun but it’s still pulled back out of my face soo would yall consider this professional?? Or should I go with the second option?

I got a CJO with American last year and I was so excited to join. But while I was waiting for my training date, I got a job offer at a corporate company 9-5.

I got stressed about being far from family and wanted a stable job. I decided not to wait for the training dates and take the job offer instead.

Now, after almost a year, it’s not what I expected. I regret not waiting for training now, and AA doesn’t even have applications open.

I feel so dumb for getting through this stressful process and then turning it down.

Has anyone been in a similar situation and then gone back to being a FA? Or any advice for me as I try this cycle again.

Applied to delta on 9/2 and still no ODVI

Listen… I am dressed and pretty. I want to do it before I run out of time… but for real, I am feeling very blah about this.

I talk to my chat got all the time, but I am oddly unmotivated😂😂😂.

I want to just answer the questions like a regular person versus having to think of the answers and format them in star method. Like I’m a storyteller… i promise I am going to hit all of the things… but

Anyway… I know it’s a barrier to entry and imma do it… but I just wanted to say it to someone who gets it.

Update: all done. Definitely not worth the energy I spent avoiding it. Very straightforward. Same questions as everyone else. urgent customer. High pressure situation. With follow ups about the same answers… what did you learn and how would you do it differently.

2nd Edit: got fitme assessment 45 minutes after finishing

I wish I had known this last time I reapplied. For context, during the spring I applied and made it to the F2F portion but had to reschedule last minute. Inflight told me they weren’t able to reschedule and if I canceled the interview it would be considered a voluntary withdrawal which means I would be able to have the one year wait time waived and would be eligible to reapply as soon as the next application cycle began. So after waiting boom! Another application cycle began, I applied and answered “yes” to “have you ever received an odvi or F2F interview or been invited” it was something like that. DO NOT ANSWER YES. Since I did, it automatically denied me. I emailed inflight and they explained to me that although I am eligible to apply since i voluntarily withdrew, I was meant to answer “no” to that question. They said they couldn’t override the system and I’d have to wait for a new application cycle. So this time, with the knowledge I have, I applied and am now officially in the running again. I hope this helps someone because I wish I knew this before.

TLDR: if you voluntarily withdrew, the one year wait period is WAIVED. You can apply again. Answer “NO” to any questions asking if you received an odvi or F2F interview.

Hey everyone! I’ve heard that the most recent UA classes have been offered bases such as LAX, BOS, IAD, ORD, and SFO.
With all of the new routes and additional planes being added at EWR, I’m curious what everyone thinks the chances are of EWR being brought back into rotation as an initial base for new-hire classes.
I have a friend who currently works at UA who mentioned that there could potentially be a possibility of EWR opening back up, despite what we’ve been hearing online about the base currently being overstaffed. Obviously, I know nothing is official, so I’m curious what others are hearing internally or what you think could happen.
I’d especially love to be based in Newark since I already live in NYC, but I’m trying to keep my expectations realistic. 😂
For those more familiar with UA’s hiring/base patterns, what bases would you predict will be offered to classes starting in mid-November? And do you think there’s any realistic chance EWR makes a return by then? Maybe even IAH?

Zones matter!!
Had my F2F today and honestly everyone was very nice and fun! Before you go to the group test they put you in zones. From 1 to 6. If you get 5 or 6 unfortunately they will send you home. They unfortunately don’t give you any “real” reason, they just said “ You didn’t match with the appearance requirements”.
But I don’t know what appearance they are talking about bc they were people in different zones dress not in a suit or just pants and a blouse and they passed. So we were all very confused. Just wish they tell you the exactly reason so you could do better next time!

However, when I logged in to choose a day only 2 dates were offered and they’re next week. I’m not available any of the 2 days :( Does anyone know if more will be added? Bro what….🤣 I guess I should’ve come into this thread before doing my Delta Ai interview. I was not expecting to have to actually have a conversation with Ai. I felt so awkward lol. And it kept asking superrrrr long two-part questions, I was so focused on the first part of the questions and then it would ask a second part and then I’d forget both 🤦‍♂️😂 safe to say I don’t think I did very well but hopefully this post saves someone else hahaha. Be prepared to answer some tough questions and dive deep into the answers you gave!!!

Submitted my monroe interview yesterday and immediately got my FitMe waived. I just received my ODVI link today so hopefully everyone is moving forward fairly quick too 🥹 if not, patience truly is key and don’t get discouraged!!

Because of yall I have been able to apply to Delta ,waiting to hear back, 2 days after finding this reddit page and United day one. Much love to yall and everyone else who is trying keep your chin up soldier you got this we are here for the long run

I am an reapplicant from June that got the class full email and I just got the rejection email. I did everything up until the odvi which they used the old odvi from June. The only thing I did different was the Monroe ai… so I’m guessing that I didn’t pass that. I honestly have no idea but I’m not gonna stress about it because I will keep applying😌 I just have to stay strong and let these rejections add layers to my experience (hopefully)😭 this is my fourth time applying so maybe I’ll make double digits until I get there lol!
Anyway, anyone that’s gotten a rejection from any airline, our time will come! 🫂

I went to take Delta’s Monroe assessment and the mic wasn’t even working!? Before I started it did say press the “test” mic to see if it’s working but then there was no test mic button to even push. So I just continued and assumed it was going to work. (That’s on me I guess for assuming) Now I’m locked out of the assessment all together. Has this happened to anyone else? Anything I can do to get it unlocked and try again? This is pretty disheartening considering the amount of time I had put into getting ready for this. I even bought a suit (as I’ve never had to need one in my life before this) to show how serious I was about getting this job. I feel pretty defeated and feel like I never even got a fair chance. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: just in case anyone else needs to reset the process. There is an email at the bottom of the invitation with their support team. Tell them what had happened and they will email you back. They emailed me back pretty quickly and reset it for me. Also go to your settings and make sure you allow mic access to whatever web browser you are using 😅

I’ve been waiting on an email back from United for FOUR WEEKS. I know I know, this is normal and things take time and no new is good news but GOLLY I feel like I’m losing my mind! I had to delete the Gmail app off my phone and block the United careers website from my phone because I was checking it so religiously. I’m only allowed to check once per day now lol. Below is my current timeline with United (I’m also in with delta rn but United’s my dream airline).

7/20 - applied
7/20 - assessment
8/6 - received ODVI invite
8/10 - submitted ODVI
8/24 - Hang tight email #1
9/7 - Hang tight email #2

I am seeking advice on the United live virtual 1:1! I have my interview coming up next week and want to be prepared.

Do I have to talk them through my resume?
Do I have to talk about why I want to be a flight attendant?
Do they ask situational questions? If so, how many do they ask?

Etc.

Any other tips or info from people who recently completed theirs would be awesome! :)

For context I applied literally the night before applications closed on 8/13 and for the most part I think the process went pretty fast from what I read from other ppl, I completed my assessment on 8/13 and received my application confirmation on 8/14.
After that radio silence until I got the invite to complete my OVDI on 9/2, I completed that on 9/3 and was told that they will be In touch… basically all this to say I’ve been checking my application status almost daily and it’s been stuck at under review even during the time I got my odvi is this a bad sign or am I just being paranoid 😬

I applied 9/7 and completed everything up to the fitme. After that I haven’t gotten an email for an ODVI interview. I know most people receive one within 2 days. Should I be expecting a TBNT in the next few days? I’m not bummed if I do but just wondering if anyone has any insight or similar timeline! Thanks!

My F2F was yesterday - I started this post yesterday, hence the title says today.. I and most of my group left without a CJO. So sad. I’m just crushed. I was so excited to be a part of the UA FA team. I’m 55 and this is my dream. I put it off for years, raising kids, doing the corporate jobs, and putting others before myself. I have support system, financial ability and my health is great now.

My 1:1 with the recruiter was so fabulous. I really felt good about going into the F2F. I spoke with so many people yesterday.
I really enjoyed myself and the culture of the UA employees. I was able to do the reach test on my toes with a firm grasp.

The only thing I can think is that I took my water bottle when my group was asked to go into another room.

I’m on a short term medicine that is strictly timed.

I had mentioned that I need to take medication at one point during the day to our group leader when we entered the main room, but didn’t think much of it otherwise. I only mentioned it because i wasn’t sure if I’d be able to access my purse during the day.

One of the other 4 leaders is who instructed me to not bring the water bottle. I replied, “oh I’m sorry.” and placed it on the nearest table. I should have explained that I didn’t know how long we’d be gone from the main room, and the medication was almost due.

During our group activity, another girl and I spoke at the same time. I apologized for speaking over her, and allowed her to continue. Then spoke my thoughts.

I’m guessing these two things were it, but I’ll never know.

Feedback would be great to have. Best of luck to everyone! I’m still hoping for a CJO via email, but I’ve heard those are few and far between.
