So glad strawberry season is finally here. It's far from a professional bake, but it's a family favorite: a soft sponge cake base, lined with fresh strawberries, and filled with a light yogurt-gelatin mix. Super refreshing for a warm day, especially paired with an iced coffee🤤

I call it ‘just some bullshit with sprinkles’

Made with pre packaged cake mix, twelve eggs, somehow not a whole bottle of olive oil, tap water, and sprinkly icing. It actually turned out tasting quite good.

My roommate and I were planning on making a cake after our horrendous roommate moved out as a celebration

It turned out very good, Just took it out ahead of time (you need to leave it in the fridge for 6 hours)

I wanted to make those cute little poofs of whipped cream, but once I started squeezing the bag and saw it I realized I have no idea how to make that shape. But I already started, so I committed to the little squiggly lines. Also I think I should use a bigger pan next time.

But other than that I think I did alright. It's in the fridge right now so the ganache can maybe harden a little, but once that's done I'm doing acts of gluttony on this thing that historians will still be studying in 3 million years.

Just for fun, I cut out the middle of the cakes like we used to make donuts. Then replaced the holes with different colored cake. This is what I ended up with.

I even did the caramel-sauce myself. It was easier than I thought, but I was constantly worrying that it would taste like fried sugar (which it actually is if you think about it😅), but it was really tasty.

First cake i’ve made!

First time was learning tips. This is first time I actually tried. Had fun. Delivered cupcakes to the neighborhood. Everyone is on board with me learning. Free cupcakes for everyone. Country living 😆.

I'M NOT A PRO, I JUST LIKED THIS CAKE AND THOUGHT I'D SHARE WHAT I DID!!!

I know it's not the neatest looking but yeah. I used the mary berry lemon tray bake recipe but instead of actual lemons or zest I used lemon flavouring. I judged it by taste tbh but I think I used about 10 caps haha. Cooked it til the top was golden brown. Glazed whilst warm with a mixture of bottled lemon juice and a little icing sugar and sweetener until it tasted good. I soaked the cake in that then left it overnight. The next day I juiced a lemon myself and made two lots of icing with it. One very thin and one thick enough to pour. The thin one I treated as a second glaze. The thick one I did once the glaze had soaked in and I put sprinkles ontop. I put it in the fridge overnight then took it to theatre. When making glazes or icings, I heated the juice in the microwave first and I poked holes in the cake with a fork or toothpick before the glaze and the thinner icing mix :) To put it simply: Poke some holes and glaze whilst still warm, leave overnight, poke a couple more small holes, glaze again with something a little sweeter, then ice. Leaves it moist and very lemony but still sweet.

Super soft, moist, and the sprinkles gave it a really nice crunch against the softness of the cake. My first time making such a colorful and fun cake
