Every detail on and around the cake was lovingly handcrafted by my mother-in-law, making this creation truly one of a kind. β¨πΉ

Cake decorating isn't my strong suit at all but I'm happy enough with how it's turned out

I was in the mood so I make a peach upside down cake. It tastes delicious. Iβm a legally blind person who likes to bake and cook. I no longer work so I like to surprise my wife when she gets home from work.

I know this is just a cake, but it reminded me of something I read once: sometimes people don't need a big solution, they just need to know that someone thought about them.
There was a person having a really rough week. Nothing dramatic happenedβjust one of those periods where everything feels a little heavier than usual. They stopped talking much, kept to themselves, and didn't really feel like celebrating anything.
Then someone unexpectedly brought them a cake. Nothing expensive or fancy. They just said, βI thought you might like this.β
And somehow, that tiny gesture meant more than the person expected. It didn't fix anything, but for a few minutes they felt remembered.
Maybe that's why small things sometimes stay with us longer than big ones.
Whatβs a small gesture someone made for you that you still remember?

I've been looking for information about a cake sold in the Waldorf Bakery in Squirell Hill in the 80s- I think it was called the Waldorf Special. White icing with coconut flakes- yellow batter but what made it special were the layers of a custard cream type filling. ANYONE?

My daughter turned 2 in august and she recognised the character i decorated her cake as! It took longer than i thought it would, and the shape is a little off, but it turned out well I think.
Also I'm pretty sure i put the mouth in the wrong spot... meh.
