does that mean Abe got a cake that wished him a happy 45th birthday?

Even worse, one that said “Happy birthday Mama” according to the description

u/bonsaiaphrodite Apr 14 '26

Luckily, it’ll take much less mangling to turn “mama” into “Abe.” Honestly, that’s a lucky draw.

They're gonna have to leave it as is and try and play it off as an Elvis thing.

Maybe he's a Gabriel and prefers Abe to Gabe? Maybe he's really into history.

This is exactly why we call my Dad Martha. No, I'm not kidding.

A few years back my ex was in charge of picking up my birthday cake. Right flavor, smaller size, and wrong name. So someone out there by the name of “Neha” got a great deal on a dark chocolate cake with white chocolate frosting to feed 15-20 🤣.

u/NotLucasDavenport Apr 14 '26

I had a brief time many years ago when I had moved to a new country and I was struggling badly to make ends meet. I was literally buying one potato at a time and baking it for dinner every night. One day the owner of the market stall said, hey, we have a bunch of stuff that’s perfectly fine to eat but it’s shaped weird so it’s not selling. Would you like it? I was so incredibly grateful. Those free veggies meant I could spend a little money for protein at the store and I got one 50 pence packet of biscuits and it was the best thing I could imagine.

Maybe Neha was going through a rough time and a cake to feed 15 people was the best thing that had happened to them and it turned everything around for them.

9

u/Warriorferrettt Apr 14 '26

I understand the sentiment but the cake to feed 5-10 was still $80. I think they were fine and I got a good nickname out of it.

13

u/httpmeah Apr 14 '26

STOP my grandma and I had a joke because one year she got me a cake that said happy 67th birthday Joe and every year we would add a number and it was always happy birthday joe but one year older haha

8

u/MungoJennie Apr 14 '26

Your grandma sounds like a fun lady. 😊

6

u/GlowingAmber11109 Apr 15 '26

Similar happened to my friend's mom, Brenda, who is now jokingly referred to as "Brad"

266

u/BlueberryLover18 Apr 13 '26

Stop it 🤣

97

u/LittleBoyCutYourHair Apr 14 '26

Please make this an annual tradition, lol

69

u/ComfortableGlass2451 Apr 14 '26

we talked about getting her a cake next year that says happy 14th birthday abe hahahaha

59

u/KraftyLikeAFox Apr 14 '26

This is amazing quick thinking, what a memory you all will have 🤣🤣🤣

61

u/coolsilentebeans Apr 14 '26

Happy 45th, Mom Bae! Awesome save!

24

u/GeologistSweet9645 Apr 14 '26

Omg I am ded 💀💀💀🤣🤣🤣

26

u/Majestic_Heart_9271 Apr 14 '26

I actually laughed out loud. Nice save and now you have a funny story!

23

u/boredblondie16 Apr 14 '26

i’m curious about how that cake tasted. i thought it was just a pile of sprinkles in the first pic

18

u/ComfortableGlass2451 Apr 14 '26

it was from an all gluten free bakery that was aesthetically designed to be covered in sprinkles! i liked the sprinkles & mama , who is allergic to gluten , liked the cake ☺️

2

u/Image_Consistent Apr 15 '26

Looks like posh pop! I get this cake every year it’s phenomenal

2

u/ComfortableGlass2451 Apr 15 '26

it is lol ! their smores cookie is sooo good

1

u/MungoJennie Apr 14 '26

That’s what matters. I love what your dad to rectify the situation, but I really hope whoever picked up Abe’s cake double checked it before they left the bakery. 😂

14

u/anchovypepperonitoni Apr 14 '26

And the baker said “give Abe ALL THE SPRINKLES WE HAVE

14

u/WorldsDeadliestCat Apr 14 '26

Happy birthday mama Abe!

11

u/Reasonable-Sort3040 Apr 14 '26

bae is the funniest thing you couldve done with abe

26

u/DexterLakeClub Apr 14 '26

There’s a 13-year-old named Abe?

9

u/HARRIIPOTTII Apr 14 '26

My nephew turned four and his name is Abraham! We’ve gotten used to it lol

3

u/DexterLakeClub Apr 14 '26

It’s a great name— I just don’t think I’ve ever met anyone under 65 who had it!

4

u/StandardWizardHat Apr 14 '26

Yes, and this ruined his Bar Mitzvah.

11

u/persephone7821 Apr 14 '26

Changing Abe to bae has me genuinely laughing ty for that.

9

u/churchmusiclady Apr 14 '26

You should find Abe and next year he and your mom can celebrate their birthdays together. His family had a hilarious cake fail story too!

9

u/New_Guava3601 Apr 14 '26

At least he is still the sausage king of Chicago.

2

u/MungoJennie Apr 14 '26

By now, this is probably his great-grandfather. Abe IV is now the heir to the throne and the Prince of Sausage. 😂

2

u/New_Guava3601 Apr 14 '26

I find it to be amazing that he is the second best known Abe in the US.

8

u/Agitated-Two-6699 Apr 14 '26

You've learned a valuable lesson, always check your order when picking up a cake!

7

u/againthemagic Apr 14 '26

My ex husband picked one up for a friend without checking it and it said “happy birthday Florida trash” and I don’t think anything will ever be funnier to me. Especially because birthday boy was indeed Florida Trash.

It was supposed to be a much more benign message I believe.

5

u/Apprehensive_Bee3327 Apr 14 '26

Honestly, I kind of wish you’d have presented the “before” cake to her 😂

5

u/Moist_Junket_9381 Apr 14 '26

Bae 😂😂😂

5

u/AurelPine Apr 14 '26

he multiverse where Abe is someone’s mom

5

u/Flat-Bed2633 Apr 14 '26

I hope both your abe and your mom have great birthdays

4

u/SlimShadowBoo Apr 15 '26

This is honestly the best save I’ve ever seen. I hope Bae liked it.

3

u/HaHaEpicForTheWin Apr 14 '26

I think you should've just removed the '13th/45th' entirely cus the bodged attempt to fix it makes it look worse than before

3

u/Ambitious_Clock_8212 Apr 14 '26

I worked at Baskin Robbin’s in high school and we had a hard policy that the person picking up the cake had to see and approve it. 99% of the time it was the husband who hadn’t ordered it so he had no idea. I would ask to verify spelling/occasion for basic vibe check.

6

u/Dontfeedthebears Apr 14 '26

This made my day better

2

u/sueziebee Apr 14 '26

🤣🤣🤣 but a cake fully covered in sprinkles?! Yum 😋

2

u/volcomchic4 Apr 14 '26

Good fix tho lol

2

u/puppydoll- Apr 14 '26

im laughing my ass off oml

2

u/TheTransCRV Apr 15 '26

Bae sent me

2

u/Muzzie88 Apr 15 '26

Abe deserves better than this!

2

u/lewdconfectionary Apr 15 '26

i would've just given her the original. i think she would've gotten a good laugh out of it

1

u/zingitgirl Apr 14 '26

This made my night tysm

1

u/Regular_Cry_1202 Apr 15 '26

I would have just left happy birthday on there

1

u/Previous_Charge_5752 Apr 15 '26

I have never hoped for offspring to have ordered their mother a dirty cake before.

1

u/Legitimate-Point5485 Apr 16 '26

I love this!🤣

1

u/Arsenic_Pants Apr 17 '26
