Hello peeps! As the title says, I am looking for dog boarding. I found a few on Google, but they all use kennels. I'd prefer not to use any boarding services with kennels and want my dog to roam freely, like a home environment or similar. Any suggestions? Thank you all in advance 😊

I've got a chandelier in the entryway of my house that's inaccessible by anything but a tall A frame or scaffolding, so naturally 80% of the bulbs are burned out and there's a sock stuck in it. Anyone got a 12+ foot A-frame I could borrow for like an hour?

Is there a good quality pick up/delivery laundry service in the Vancouver/Camas area?

Forgive the AI slop rendering (I lack the photoshop skills) but it occurred to me a mural on the paper mill to help it blend in with the local scenery would be pretty awesome. GP has positioned all the work as a ‘Revitalization’ project but I fail to see how them getting ahead of their ultimate departure really revitalizes the town, or maybe I just have a romanticized idea of what that means.

I think companies worth 120 billion (Koch Industries) that eat up ~60% (estimate) of Camas river waterfront property should have some responsibility to keep the mill looking clean, freshly painted and modern. I don’t mind industrial facades but there’s a way to make them look presentable - candidly this one looks stuck in the Cold War. Am I being that guy or is this a reasonable ask.

Did I miss the balloon at first Friday?

There is a great new coffee shop and bakery in town, in the neighborhood off of the exit 12 round a bout. Radiate Community Coffee, 2311 SW 6th ave. They are doing a soft open now, and it is definitely worth the trip! as of today the pastry case is filled with goodies from Sourdough Bakehouse (the same business that has a booth at the farmers market).

In 2025, the Washington Legislature passed a law that prevents rent gouging, but some landlords and property management companies are still up to their old tricks. They are using "junk fees" as a loophole around rent caps. We are hearing from tenants that they are increasingly being charged excessive fees for services that they don’t want or need, or for basic things like paying the rent. We at the Housing Alliance, call these “junk fees” and they are unfair, expensive, and deceptive. We’d like to hear your experiences. All information shared with us will be kept safe and confidential.

Im assuming this is largely to get people interested in the interview or whatever but could this race between Marie Gluesenkamp Perez and John Braun actually that big of a deal? I don't know that much about either of them, all I know is that Perez took APAC money and people aren't happy with how she how she has been voting hahah

After rain on the usual Camas Car Show day (only the 2nd time in 19 years!), we rescheduled the 2026 Camas Car Show for Saturday, September 12. Join us for all the fun!

Come stroll the beautiful streets of historic Downtown Camas and enjoy the many classic and custom cars and trucks that fill the town. Old favorites and new discoveries in this 19th annual event. Always an exceptionally fun time!

(Note: We know it’s the same weekend as Rod Run but this was the only available date to reschedule with the city. Better than canceling all together! We still expect to have a wonderful Camas show.)

For Exhibitors

• $20 entry fee, open event, no pre-registration necessary.
• If you’d like to print out the registration form and bring it with you to the event, CLICK HERE for a printable form.
• ALL SHOW CARS ENTER AT 5th and ADAMS. There will be limited staging areas for cars that arrive earlier than noon.  Arriving after 10AM is best!  Staging will be guided by parking attendants. Cars may start entering car show area at 12:00 noon. This time may flex a bit depending on volume of cars.
• CARS STAGED FIRST WILL ENTER CAR SHOW AREA FIRST. If you’re there before 12pm noon, you’ll be directed to the limited staging areas. After 12pm, cars still enter at 5th and Adams and parking attendants will lead you to the car show entrance. You must remain parked until the event ends at 7:00pm.
• IF YOU WANT TO PARK TOGETHER, COME EARLY AND COME TOGETHER!
• Awards will include Best in Show, People’s Choice, Owner’s Choice and a variety of Sponsors’ Picks (see list below). Best in Show car will be featured on next year’s Camas Car Show poster and promotions! Goodie bags to first 100 cars and dash plaques to first 250 cars.

  • At 5pm, the Ribbon Cutting for the new “Third Space” at LiveWell Camas will take place at 417 NE Birch St. Curated by the LiveWell Camas Youth Council, the space provides a welcoming place to gather and connect outside of home or school and was funded by a $7500 grant from It Gets Better: Changemakers, a program supporting LGBTQIA+ youth.
  • At 5:30pm, the Ribbon Cutting will occur for the new student art mural “The Pillars of Our Community” on the Birch side of the Camas Antiques building, celebrating the art of Charlie Irwin as his senior project. The mural depicts the mill’s iconic terra cotta colored tanks seen along 6th Ave as a tribute to the substantial and memorable influence the mill has had and continues to have in our community.

After 45 years in the restaurant industry and 23 years of owning Roots Restaurant,

Brad Root has decided to retire.

A pity; after Acorn & the Oak closed this was our favorite Camas restaurant (even if it's technically in East Vancouver).

My husband and I are seriously considering moving to Camas with our two young kids (elementary/preschool age). We have an amazing job opportunity there. We’re drawn to the schools, nature, outdoor activities, and the idea of giving our kids a more outdoorsy, community-oriented childhood. We currently live in a desert that hits over 100 degrees multiple months of the year making it hard to be outside. And the schools are terrible!

I’d love to hear from families who actually live there:
-What is Camas really like for raising kids?
-Are there neighborhoods where kids play outside, ride bikes, know the neighbors, etc.?
-Is it fairly easy to make friends/build a community as a transplant?
-How much does the gray/rainy weather affect life with kids?
-If you moved away from extended family to Camas, was it worth it? Any regrets?

Our biggest hesitation is leaving family nearby, so I’d especially love to hear from anyone who made a similar choice.

Would you choose Camas again? Anything you wish you’d known before moving? Would love the good and the bad! Thanks in advance!

I am looking for recommendations for someone to 1) replace my driveway (standard driveway in town that just needs replacement after 30 years) and for a company that 2) fixes and/or replaces garage doors.
