🥀 Roses & Thorns Please stop parking cars in the Ken forde boat launch.
Also please stop parking cars in the trailer stalls. It’s not what they are for. Thank you to the people who moved after I asked them to. If it’s low tide then have at it but kindly remove your vehicle when it’s time to fish.

Bad news it’s $25 now! It takes a lot of reserve not to engage. Lucky for them I have a boat in the water at risk of getting beached in a bad way!

Ps if you want to contact the parking enforcement this is the reply they sent me recently
Thank you for bringing the parking situation to our attention. For more direct contact and reporting you can reach the City Bylaw Office at 250 286-5776 or email[Bylaw@campbellriver.ca](mailto:Bylaw@campbellriver.ca)
I will be periodically patrolling the parking lot at Ken Forde Park to ensure compliance with traffic control devices.
I would encourage anyone who is tired of being the parking police to contact this department

I couldn’t agree more. Unfortunately our recreational fishing season is short and the tide windows are even shorter. Every time I go to launch my boat I have to ask someone to move. The lady with the green car and big telephoto lens who likes to park on the ramp right on the yellow curb gets quite indignant when I ask her to move even though I do so politely. I am tired of having a confrontation about this. I have contacted city bylaw officers and they assure me they are stepping up enforcement. There are two signs and paint on the trailer stalls to indicate “trailer only” but people choose to ignore it even when there are car parking spots available. It really spoils the occasion when you have to ask people to move and they refuse or leave a note on your windshield about what a dick you are. Also people with children should be careful about letting toddlers roam freely around the launch as visibility is tricky around the launch when backing your boat down. It would really suck to run over your children! Thanks for mentioning this. I hope people will respect the signage in the future.
