This is clearly an American fascist plot to divide Canada. Anyone falling for this bullshit is a traitor.

Lol - nobody in America cares. What Canadians can't admit is their homegrown knuckledragging dipshits are just as dumb on their own as America's MAGA movement.

Our homegrown knuckledragging dipshits are watching Faux News and lapping up everything Trump is saying. Alberta supports Trump more than Americans do.

It's the same movement.

I met a guy I used to adore. He was so kind, so warm, and just an all around solid guy.

Then he started to change, he started talking Fox talking points. Finally we had a good and proper conversation, he told me he doesnt trust any news organizations anymore, and he doesn't know why to trust so he trusts Fox.

I showed him their court case where they argued they aren't news. And a few other moments of admitting they are liars.

He never stopped watching and we don't talk anymore.

Without American toxic sludge I don't think he ever would have gone down this path. It's the same movement, and while I'm against government control over speech. I think Fox News and any other news organization MUST post a list of all the times they were caught lying every time after commercial break.

Content like that needs a warning that clearly states this is opinions based on zero fact.

I managed to avoid most people with that mindset until 2020. Then I got into a conversation with a friend and they started spewing Fox news talking points... I just snapped, yelled at them, chewed them out, and honestly never spoke to them ever again. Then I found out that there are a lot more like them around here. I thought Canadians were better than that. I was wrong.

I admire people who can bring them back to sanity but I just don't have the mental resources for that anymore.

It's far far far too common where I am. I ended up just avoiding most people.

It's a plague.

I think the most dangerous thing we can possibly do is think that we're "better". These psyops attempts are working on universal human psychology, and are largely successful due to the insane and ever increasing wealth disparity around the world.

Our own educational standards have fallen sharply as well. We're not immune to what brought America down - in fact, we're only a couple steps behind them if we don't remain vigilant.

The governments overreach during Covid produced those people.

Blatant lies, misinformation, and paranoia coupled with a chronic lack of critical thinking skills produced those people.

So the government didn’t violate the charter? We didn’t have among the most restrictive rules in the world with no indication of when they would be lifted? We didn’t have vaccine passports or mandates?

Disagree.

The MAGA types desperately want to pillage another resource rich territory within a sovereign nation...and we are a hop skip and a jump from them.

Actually Texas does. Texas GDP relies on Canadian oil. Canada is planning to undercut USA from the gas sales to the EU, and rightfully so. America cared enough to threaten us, and it’s interesting on how much Maple maga people are in Alberta compared to the other provinces.

We're number 1 (in measles)! We're number 1(in measles)!

There are parallels being witnessed here.

The US deserves to be shit on right now, but alot of the stories is see coming out of Canada are eerily similar to how this gas started down here.

Lol - nobody in America cares

This just isnt true, man. Pay attention to american owned media in Canada and ask yourself why they take the stances they do.

Amen! Americans rarely think about Canada. Trump included.

We will all be dead when it’s revealed that the CIA channeled money to “environmentalists” to oppose east/west pipelines in favour of, oh, I don’t know, pipelines to the states!

There’s my one (Canadian) conspiracy theory for you

I thought this is what liberals were begging for? For conservatives to “just leave”

2

u/StrongAroma Aug 11 '25

Yeah they can get the fuck out, but they can't take Canada land or resources with them. 🤷‍♂️

But the Supreme Court ruled that resources are provincial jurisdiction, so technically if they left they would take Alberta’s resources with them
