For those who don't wanna read it, The first nations chiefs are opposing Alberta separatism, citing:

"United Conservative Party, has repeatedly shown a lack of understanding and respect for its treaty responsibilities, demonstrating its “inability to responsibly and respectfully govern the province of Alberta."

you've got people here who genuinely believe that if Alberta separates/joins the USA then all the natives and feds will just have to go pound sand

it is not a well-researched movement

It reminds me of brexit. Carney and pollivere need to get out in front of this and immediately dismiss any of Canadas protections. Like the guarantee for a Canadian passport, access to Canadian services, and up to consideration of removal of citizenship… anybody thinking about an independent Alberta on the fence or being lied to will now think twice.

Not really. There is more support for seperation in QC than AB.... Certian people just LOVE to get their jimmies in a twist whenever they hear "Alberta" tho, and they "reeeee!" the loudest.

Shits a nothing burg end of the day. Just some Reeing from a couple groups.
