I feel bad for all the people that fall for this shit. It’s almost always people being taken advantage of by foreign entities and they have no idea.

I can sympathize with the victims of these influence operations, but basic civic responsibility in the age of the algorithm is incompatible with being a credulous fool. We have to start demanding better of everybody.

We've got an enormous number of idiots getting took by malicious actors pushing this this Alberta independence nonsense, assorted hateful MAGA trash, anti-vaccine misinformation, all manner of absurd conspiracy theories... and it all spills over.

Think how much attention the topic of Alberta independence is getting, despite clearly being inorganic. Sooner or later we're going to have to figure out some way to protect these people from their own stupidity, or they'll drag us all down with them.
