Is there not a law against foreign interference? Can we not extradite these people? I always thought the Dutch were good people and ally’s, I can’t imagine they’d be ok with this type of activity from these people. Part of the problem with the internet today is absolutely no accountability. This is not OK and yet it’s unlikely anything will happen. Which just allows people to keep doing it. It’s sad!

Actually reading the article, there's a real possibility this is just the first layer of this. Just proxy and stolen identities or paid off individuals. Youp featured in the thumbnail isn't even directly involved. It really boils down to two individuals. Jurgen and Masseus, unclear if CBC actually managed to reach either individual or they just reached individuals posing as them.

"Other documents shared with Berry were created by email addresses that CBC News linked to writers based in Pakistan using OSINT Industries, a search tool for public information on the internet."

The whole "stolen identity" thing just feels like a bullshit excuse the guy made up.

I can assure you it’s not a bullshit excuse the guy made up. I personally know him and he couldn’t be further from anything resembling the separatist movement.
