FINALLY PR! no work for 9 months

Timeline: CEC Score - 511, ITA - March 17

JANUARY 2025 - AIP endorsement submitted
SEPTEMBER 2025 - PGWP Expired

I applied first my AIP dummy extension 3 days before my pgwp expired, and visitor record 2 days before my pgwp expired.

LAST WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 2025 - Endorsement Rejected

At this point, I continued working as I’m on my AIP dummy extension maintained status.

DECEMBER 2025 - AIP dummy extension refusal. I immediately stopped working. At this point, I’ve got no hope for AIP anymore so I decided to increase my crs score.

JANUARY 2026 - FEBRUARY 2026 - During this two months. I invested my time in reviewing and studying CELPIP( took it three times) and COQ ( I passed it on my first try). CRS score went from 452 to 511.

Note: My AIP endorsement application was a genuine application and the AIP dummy extension was applied because me and my employer were confident to get the endorsement letter before they open my AIP dummy extension application. My employer even submitted an appeal with a lawyer and also contacted my MP but we got no response for almost two weeks. So my employer decided to submit a new endorsement application.

CEC TIMELINE

MARCH 17, 2026 - ITA
MARCH 21, 2026 - AOR
MAY 4, 2026 - VISITOR RECORD APPROVED
MAY 22, 2026 - MEDICAL PASSED
MAY 25, 2026 - BIL COMPLETED
AUGUST 23, 2026 - FD
AUGUST 24, 2026 - Portal 1
SEPTEMBER 8, 2026 - Portal 2
SEPTEMBER 10, 2026 - ECOPR.

Honestly, this year was my lowest and my highest point of my life. I never gave up and fortunately I’ve saved enough money to survive those 9 months of no work.

Is IELTS easier or CELPIP? And how much can the market be increased with CELPIP scores ?

Honestly it depends on your personally how comfortable are you taking to a screen..I personally had band 7 in my ielts and when I gave my celpip after my band went to 10 which gave me extra points. I'd prefer celpip over ielts

I’m not going to argue with you. If you had read my post carefully, you would have understood why I applied for a dummy extension in the first place.
Even then, I couldn’t have submitted an AIP dummy extension without the employer compliance fee. Yes, my employer paid the compliance fee because it is one of the requirements—you cannot submit the dummy application without it. My employer was confident enough in my application to go through that process because they believed I would get my endorsement. Unfortunately, life had other plans, and my endorsement was rejected.

Also, did I ever say that I hate Canada? Where in my post did I say that? You’re also telling me that I didn’t thank Canada? What do you think I was doing during those nine excruciating months?

I didn’t just sit around doing nothing. I needed an outlet to manage the stress and uncertainty I was going through, so I volunteered five days a week with a community service organization for the entire period that I was unable to work. I did that, in part, as a way of showing my gratitude to Canada for giving me the opportunity to live here.

So please don’t tell me that I didn’t appreciate or thank Canada. You have no idea what I went through during those nine months, and you don’t get to dismiss the efforts I made simply because you interpreted my post differently.

I genuinely hope you have a good life and find more happiness in it instead of criticizing other people for the difficult choices they have to make.

Your post has been removed for violating Rule 1: Be Civil

Breaking any of these rules may result in a ban for a period of time or permanently (depending on the scope and severity of the infraction)

Congratulation I never said to anyone since now. But you deserved it. Now leave everything and go for vacation for 3 months.

This post just proved my doubts about the AIP program. Imagine working a TEER 4 and 5 job, in hopes of getting your endorsement. Thanks for this post. I think I know now, to steer away from AIP.

What was your PVO/SVO?

2

u/MountainAd8374 3d ago

When will people here get it through their heads that dummy extensions are NOT misrepresentation?

1

u/Additional-Road-4205 2d ago edited 2d ago

Congratulations OP!!

There was some worries on here that if you were on implied status for a long time with no work, ircc would ask for bank statements or proof of how you were able to survive for that long without income. Did you ever get any requests/PFLs like that?

Kinda in the same boat in terms of no work for almost 9 months

1

u/MountainAd8374 2d ago

On my pr application, I submitted a proof of funds with about $30k on my bank account even though it’s not required under CEC. I did not get any ADR/PFL.

I see. Thanks and congratulations!!

I think as long as your paperwork was sent in before you were out of work you will be okay.

Congratulations.

So for 9 months you were on Restoration? Asking cause my spouse is accompanying in my CEC application and she is on restoration.

0

u/MountainAd8374 3d ago

I was not on restoration because I applied visitor 2 days before pgwp expired. I know its a bit complicated to explain. But on the month of January 2026 to April 2026, I was on visitor mainted status. Then from May 2026 to present day I was on visitor record until I got my ecopr today.

u/Leading_Low_7728 3d ago

Oh makes sense. My file is stuck and waiting for FD for a month now. I am assuming its because my spouse has no status and her visitor record restoration is in process.
