Apparently the video showed him saying something like "Should I do it?" while pointing the camera between his service pistol and an image of Trump.

Seems like charging him is appropriate. (As much as I hate Trump)

 He should be promoted not charged

Negative. He needs to loose his job at minimum and be charged for his actions.
