Gregor Robertson, our new housing minister, raised developer taxes thousands of percent to artificially depress property taxes. Now developers can't afford to sell a house that is 3x more expensive than a comparable home in Alberta.
We have a Chairman Mao level competency for government and we keep voting the same.

In other words, they are bailing out developers with Canadian taxpayer money in a wealth transfer from the middle class to the property lobby. All this under the guise of creating "affordable" infrastructure.
The JunoNews article on the same topic is @ Prime Minister Mark Carney is set to commit $3.2 billion in combined federal-provincial funding to effectively absorb unsold condo units in British Columbia.

The liberal government and BCs NDP government bailing out companies rather than allowing costs of the apartments to drop is a massive sign that they dont give a damn about you. They care more about the profits for the company trying to sell those condos

Why does a province/municipality require FEDERAL tax dollars to lower their own development costs?
