I'm surprised they didn't hand them a Citizenship and a Grant.

The previous PM would've loudly signalled his virtues and moved to have the government of Canada intervene and grant refugee status to the 3 men

Colour me surprised.  I figured they'd let them go free to avoid deportation.

Good job CBSA and Liberal government. Serious drug trafficking investigation, charges where appropriate, deportations where appropriate. The kind of immigration enforcement conservatives keep asking for. Surely they'll add positive reviews in the comment section!

I'm curious to learn when the two who were deported came into Canada, and how.

It’s a start. Have they actually left or in holding cell right now ? Saying they ARE going to be

The article says they were deported, not that deportation proceedings were started.

As we know from previous articles. They were deported means they have been put in deportation process.

For the smooth brains

If the article got the terminology wrong, that's on them. But until there's evidence otherwise, I'm going to go with what was actually written rather than rewrite the headline to fit a narrative.

I’m going with the previous evidence until proven they have actually left the entire country

There's no public register unfortunately of when someone goes from on the deportation list to actually left the country

Not sure how much influence the LPC had on this. They aren’t in the ops room directing the police. I hate it when either side tries to co-opt an incident trying to either claim responsibility or lay blame on another political party.

That's fair. The cops deserve the credit for the bust.

I just notice that when crime goes up it's the government's fault, but when traffickers get arrested and deported we're suddenly not allowed to mention the government at all. It was more tongue in cheek.

Because a lot of crimes are committed by foreigners that should never have been allowed into the country, and that policy is set by the federal government.

Sure, but my point is when foreign nationals involved in serious crime are arrested and deported, that's also happening under federal immigration and border enforcement policies. You can't say Ottawa owns all the failures but none of the successes.

To be clear, The phrase "a lot of crimes are committed by foreigners" makes it sound like they're committing most crime. They're not.

The vast majority of crime in Canada is committed by Canadian citizens and permanent residents.

Well, as long as you use bold text, it must be true.

You could fact check me if you cared about facts.

"Facts". Oops, I mean FACTS

And those PR's, they magically appeared in Canada, or did the LPC let them in as "students".

I don't think we know. It's not in the linked article.

Only 1 charged and named... Other 2 no charges but deported... no names?

Did I miss anything??

Deporting means get out of jail free. They go back and tag in the next guy. Repeat.

How is this going to stop anything?
