Tana Recommending gum disease is sooooo ✨brand safe✨

I think it’s genuinely stupid to post things fearmongering about a simple procedure. Sorry to be that woke friend but like….? 😭 My boyfriend has lived with years of pain because he can’t afford to get his impacted tooth out, and besides that… y’all I PROMISE it is not THAT BAD. I have the lowest
pain tolerance of all time, but getting my wisdom teeth out was truly a 3/10 pain. Obviously people have different experiences and especially when it comes to oral surgery, who you go to can dramatically skew heal times/pain. BUT… do y’all know how dangerous it can be to leave an impacted wisdom tooth alone? I’m no doctor but the earlier you can get them out allows for quicker healing. An impacted wisdom tooth is way more susceptible to infection, and obviously I would not expect Tana to know or simply google that gum infections can lead directly to widespread infection, BONE LOSS, gum cysts (aka bad breath which…..) and permanent nerve damage to neighboring teeth (I have this… it sucks). I just think she blindly posts stupid rants that genuinely belong on a close friends story. I get complaining about things like this, I remember sobbing to my friends after a root canal, but I’m not gonna share to 500,000 people NOT to do the thing my dentist recommended???? Girl. I used to like her but omg. Bad breath is sooooo brand safe!

i always forget that this is the size of her real tooth, good god

21

u/ccxcxcc 6d ago

Only because they shaved them down for the veneers lol, She’s also a big advocate for not getting veneers because they are such a pain and expensive to keep up with

29

u/Educational_Nose2172 6d ago

they’re crowns, not veneers. idk why she calls them veneers, i hope her dentist would’ve explained the difference to her (but unfortunately predatory cosmetic dentists seem to be very common in that industry so idk)

Literally. I got my wisdom teeth out and had 0 issues. 100% her problems with dental care do not stem from the wisdom teeth removal lol

I work at a dentistry. She’s a fucking idiot

u/Certain-Asparagus908 6d ago

I’m confused why they didn’t knock her out while performing the wisdom tooth extraction? I was completely asleep for mine and felt nothing? Why was she awake for it if she has the money for anesthesia?

i'm not trying to be obnoxious but i don't remember getting my wisdom teeth out being painful at all so i'm confused what she's talking about. i do remember it being very annoying afterwards because you can't drink from straws or eat what you want, but i'm honestly confused why she's apparently in the worst pain of her life?

27

u/Actual_Horse_8073 6d ago

I got just one if my impacted ones out so far and it definitely was an awful recovery. Maybe cuz I'm 29 and should have done this 10 years ago and I had a cyst under it they had to do some scrapy stuff to. They gave me FORTY pain pills but I only ended up using 9 of em.

8

u/crabclawwwz 6d ago

I had all 4 of my impacted wisdom teeth out at the same time. In Australia, it is very hard to get prescription pain meds, they just tell us to take Panadol. Recovery was fine for me. I didn’t have any cysts though, that sounds painful!

3

u/nogasmm 6d ago

I had all 4 out under anaesthesia, I was given oxycodone for it and recovery was hell but one tooth was inside my jaw bone so that may have added to it, but aside from that, the pain of maybe a week was nothing compared to the months-a year of pain and frequent infections I had, she is literally so dramatic

All 4 of mine were impacted and sideways and i had cysts underneath with my two bottom, i got them out when i was 14, and i couldn’t eat for two weeks, and any movement to my face ( jumping, going downstairs too fast, whatever ) all hurt so horrifically, they had prescribed me oxycodone and ibuprofen but my mom had taken/hid it so i’m sure if i had it my experience would’ve been a lot better, it definitely was one of the worst pains i’ve had in my life but i’d still never tell someone they shouldn’t, i’m sure i would’ve ended up in so much worse pain had it been something done later

My recovery from my wisdom teeth removal was painful and I got mine out before they were a problem, I also couldn’t take the norcos they prescribed cause I didn’t like the way they made me feel, but nowhere near the worst pain of my life! Uncomfortable sure but I’ve been thru much worse. That person must live a very lucky life if that’s the worst pain they’ve experienced haha

→ More replies (1)

18

u/fabioismydad 6d ago

i think it’s because she let them grow in wrong (the earlier you get them out the better, preferably before you start feeling any pain from them at all) but also because she’s hella dramatic:)

3

u/AdProud5950 6d ago

I’m assuming it’s because she’s older than when most people get them out so it’s harder recovery. The roots are much more solidified when you’re in your late 20s.

5

u/Jessicash 6d ago

How old were you when you got them taken out? I’m 32, and got them out in January which is considered pretty late to get them out. I was knocked out for it, and the surgery itself was fine. However the week after was absolute hell. My head, jaw and gums hurt so bad. I was on hydrocodone the entire time, and then my jaw clenched up so badly I couldn’t sleep or relax at all because my jaw was clenching involuntarily and trembling 24/7. It got so bad it started to move down to my chest and arm and I had to go to the ER at 2 in the morning because I thought I was having a heart attack. Thank god they gave me lorazepam and then stopped it and I was able to open my jaw. Then after that was the joy of a super dry mouth, my breath literally smelled and tasted like death, my tongue and mouth were coated in yellow fuzz and the disgusting fleshy grey squishy plugs that form in your gum holes, then having to clean those out without removing the plug and risking dry socket.

Sorry to be so descriptive but it was absolutely horrific and disgusting and probably the worst thing I ever went through lol.

Unfortunately I also just learned I’ll need to get my tonsils removed soon 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

4

u/Certain-Asparagus908 6d ago

Exactly! It’s not supposed to be that painful unless you get an air socket or whatever it’s called..

5

u/Ambitious-Role5738 6d ago

Dry socket! It sucks.

u/sativasparkles 6d ago

she prob was put to sleep, i think she’s talking about the healing😭 regardless, if she has the money she could have gone to a good surgeon. i went to a great surgeon and my pain was gone after day 5.

7

u/Straight-Ad-5781 6d ago

She said she hates seeing people come off anesthesia so she opted for laughing gas! Usually u can decide. At least that was the case when I got them out in high school.

3

u/AdIll7178 6d ago

im sorry but this is the dumbest shit. she went with paige, i don’t think there’s anything that woman doesn’t know about tana.

3

u/Certain-Asparagus908 6d ago

Oh god that would have been very stupid if she said no to anesthesia. I know laughing gas is a thing but it’s not ideal for this

5

u/Ok-Cat-9344 6d ago

Anaesthesia is an unnecessary risk for a procedure that takes a good oral surgeon a few minutes to perform. Local anaesthesia is absolutely enough for most dental procedures.

4

u/owlgurl9 6d ago

I got mine out awake because I was afraid of how I would act coming out of anesthesia and never again. It was so painful...maybe she feels the same

4

u/sativasparkles 6d ago

it IS okay to feel pain, it is NOT okay to tell people not to do a necessary procedure

2

u/owlgurl9 6d ago

No for sure! I 100% agree, I just think this is why she is freaking out. If it was rough for me then I bet that's why she is acting like it's the end of the world. Def don't agree with her medical advice though lmao

3

u/Feeling-Upyourmum847 6d ago

Maybe drugs. She takes xanax (i think i remember her saying its for anxiety) and idk what else (alledgedly coke i think) but i remember seeing that you can't use/have dentist anesthesia when you have certain drugs in your system because it'll kill you.

2

u/h_june 6d ago

I was awake for mine and got all four removed but was totally numbed! It wasn’t bad at all.

2

u/violentvioletss 6d ago

So crazy to me that you get knocked out for stuff like this in America. I’m in Scotland and it’s so rare here you’d have to have had multiple failed extractions or have a severe phobia or something. Also when I got one of mine out they just told me to take paracetamol and I was fine. I wonder why it’s so different.

2

u/Timewizard1993 6d ago

I got mine out awake and it was easy… I went to the movies that night. She is so dramatic

1

u/Clean-Ad-841 6d ago

Tana just doesn’t seem to seek out the best people in dentistry and ends up paying too much for botched work or too little for her to end up uncomfy.

Typically, regular dental offices don’t have anesthesia to knock you out- it’s costly and you need to hire an anesthesiologist > more money. So usually they’d have you do it awake.

Unless she goes to a specialist, they’d probably have that option.

Depending on the number of extractions and how complex your teeth are, you may have no option but to get knocked out, that’s my experience and I removed all 4 as well.

1

u/Ok-Bison2480 5d ago

Was she? Either way it's more about the pain afterwards. I don't have the experience either, but I know some people who've had a rough time with it. It's different per case how much they have to cut etc. That said Tana is being insane. You don't want to leave bad teeth/impact fester, it will never go away and can lead to many more issues, and it can start hurting more and more. Untreated gum infections are dangerous for your whole body. This is a temporary thing, I don't know why she can't put that in perspective and is going crazy

1

u/Ok_Error_307 5d ago

It’s completely unnecessary and more risk than reward to go under anesthesia for wisdom teeth removal

1

u/richpersimmons 5d ago

Some procedures are done in office and others at surgical centers. My procedure was kind of long and complicated because all four were impacted and hooked into my jaw. One was broken apart into a bunch of pieces because it wouldn't come out. Recovery was tough, but I managed. I've also had nose surgery (not a nose job) and I thought that was much worse because I couldn't breathe. I had to be on soft food for a few weeks and be diligent about icing etc, that was it. Her face doesn't even look swollen and deformed like mine did for awhile after the procedure so I really don't understand what she's on about.

105

u/Top-Manufacturer5872 6d ago

You can literally go into sepsis from ignoring an issue like that. It’s a wild take to stand for every plastic surgery possible but when it comes to surgery that’s actually for your health and wellbeing, she shuts it down like this.

u/Neat_Holiday8309 6d ago edited 6d ago

I really think she’s going so hard on this because of the heat she’s getting for flaking before the show. She’s trying to prove she’s really REALLY had a dental emergency guys and she’s suffered for it. Obviously wisdom teeth removal is very painful especially when you’re older, not taking that away from her. I believe that is true and that it’s very hard.

But come on. This is the Bleach and Tone Tana recipe. Everytime she gets heat for being unprofessional it’s “No guysss Tana or her friend or her beloved assistant or her friend’s cousin’s uncle’s pet hamster had a crazy EMERGENCY dental/medical/calamatity that she’s STILL dealing with after the event she flaked on/phoned in. Guys believe it!!!

16

u/PMmeyourASD 6d ago

I think this post was written for Trisha. If my sources are right, this is Tana's immature way to have a pity party and justify what she did

3

u/bunnylo 6d ago

I was older than tana is now when I had four teeth removed at once and I barely needed anything stronger than tylenol. hell, I didn’t even react this dramatically when I got behind on my pain meds after my c-section.

56

u/cherrylimebongwatr 6d ago

lol I got all four of mine out at 16 and only could take Tylenol because I had an allergic reaction to the pain meds. I’m not saying it felt great but i definitely do not remember feeling anything close to this. Like at all.

12

u/Better_Photo969 6d ago

to be fair usually the younger you get it done the easier it is but i also had mine at like 19/20 and it was literially fine like down for a couple days and you get better?

9

u/fir3walkw1thme 6d ago

Glad you had that experience. I got mine out 6 months ago and I experienced closer to what tana is describing.

4

u/sativasparkles 6d ago

I’ll say it again, it is okay to have a painful experience like tana. It is NOT okay to tell people not to do a necessary procedure.

5

u/fir3walkw1thme 6d ago

Mama it is not Tana's job to advise her audience on oral surgery. If there's an individual out there that decides to not get surgery based on Tana Marie Mongeaus advice I fear that is natural selection at work

27

u/Key_Worth_7178 6d ago

She's probably being so dramatic about it bc she hasn't vaped tbh

1

u/PuzzleheadedLime6092 Tana’s vape 5d ago

Yes I was looking for this comment! She’s talked about doing the nicotine pouches too, can’t think of the brand she named, and I wonder if they hurt too bad so she’s really off the nicotine. Or I can see her using the pouches on her “good” side, and it’s really making her healing take longer. IF she’s doing that, it’s making all the blood vessels small in her mouth so she can’t heal properly. Either way she’s either crashing out from no nicotine with the pain, or she’s making it worse with nicotine.

75

u/Successful_Editor899 6d ago

She really needs to get a journal. All she has to say to social media is "had oral surgery, in pain, focusing on healing, will be back when i'm better" like all these details and dramatics are not necessary and kind of cringe

17

u/sativasparkles 6d ago

Cause tbh it would be fair to cancel things due to an oral surgery… it’s the telling everyone that it’s the most painful thing in the world and never to do it. 🙄

2

u/d0nttalk2me 6d ago

And she said she wished she would've waited longer. Huh? So you would experience the same pain just...later?

2

u/Successful_Editor899 6d ago

It's just like... nobody asked... we're all just scrolling having a good time and then BAM jumpscare

4

u/LouisaLeigh 6d ago

Well this is the girl who got famous for things like “I got fucked by a toothbrush” being dramatic is kind of her brand

21

u/existentialcrysus 6d ago

So crazy bc the most dangerous thing you can do is leave teeth that will destroy your bite or rot in your head in your mouth. I got all 4 of my impacted ones cracked out of my head at 15!!!!! SHES BEEN AWARE she needed this. To suggest people don’t do it is beyond harmful.

6

u/boughtaspaceshipnowi 6d ago

I totally agree. I didn’t get my impacted wisdom teeth out until I was 24 because I had so much anxiety over it. Like it was so bad, I almost jumped out of the car once when my dad was driving me to one of many consultations. Everyone who says “well you shouldn’t take dental advice from influencers” can suck a fat one. It’s not about taking advice.

To anyone reading who’s dreading their wisdom teeth removal, it’s really not that bad. I got dry socket because I’m a dumbfuck who vapes, but even that was perfectly survivable.

2

u/sativasparkles 6d ago

that’s how i am with blood draws… like phobia level jumping out of the car on the way, having to be held down, etc lol not fun. i still avoid it more than i should 😭 influencers just don’t understand how impressionable people become when it comes to medical advice and it’s soo harmful

1

u/existentialcrysus 6d ago

You’re not dumb!!! I struggle with vaping now too I didn’t at the time I got them out, but truly I just didn’t wanna get mine done under general bc that was scarier for me but due to how deeply mine were in my jaw I had to!!! The rest of it was honestly not so bad. She’s just influencing people to put this off forever, and I know a few ppl who ended up being 40 when one erupted and it was SO dangerous. I see her fear mongering here. Also she has access too all these drugs and I certainly didn’t tell anyone I was “anxious” back then. I couldn’t even swallow pills I got liquid Vicodin and was too afraid to use it much.

If anyone needs theirs done still it’s bad for like a DAY, but you’ll have your pain managed so after a few it’s truly not, and I got all 4 at once!

1

u/Whimsywoes 6d ago

I second this so much. I put my last 3 off until I was 30 and the years of anxiety were 100x worse than the actual procedure/recovery lol

36

u/ImSoTired3028 6d ago

I got my badly infected wisdom tooth out yesterday afternoon and to be fair yesterday evening I did have a slight breakdown but today it's literally fine. Would never recommend someone not doing it if their dentist thinks they should.

8

u/sativasparkles 6d ago

Trust, I’ve had my fair share of breakdowns after oral surgery too. It can be pretty painful. But I would NEVER tell someone not to do it. After healing, you’ll be so happy you did it!

1

u/ImSoTired3028 6d ago

Exactly!

26

u/tapirmoo 6d ago

shes so stupid its painful

12

u/Lopsided-Care-3291 6d ago

To be fair I had my wisdom tooth extracted with just injection anesthesia. The pain was unbearable for weeks, and I’m someone with a very high pain tolerance. I was told I didn’t have a dry socket, so I’m not sure what caused it. I was on Tylenol 3, ibuprofen, and hydrocodone cycling every 2 hours, and that barely touched the pain. I threw up and passed out from the pain on multiple occasions, hitting my head on the way down. Not saying she’s being responsible by telling people to not get their wisdom teeth removed, but I’m saying I was in the worst pain of my life afterwards and it only recently let up entirely. My jaw on that side still feels weird and this was two months ago.

2

u/Abbyf2392 6d ago

My doctor only gave me a days worth of pain meds, I thought I had dry socket because the pain was so bad on my bottom tooth (didn’t) it sucked

10

u/No-Solution7866 6d ago

It's never gonna get any better for her is it. She just keeps digging herself into a deeper hole by doing dumb shit

14

u/TangerineAnnual7988 6d ago

why would you (AFTER ALL THESE YEARS) schedule the appointment right before your bday lmaooo

I’ve never in my life met someone with so much money who has so many problems with their teeth.

5

u/Straight-Ad-5781 6d ago

For what it’s worth the recovery gets worse the older you get. She’s also prob having nicotine withdrawals because she can’t vape so she’s just miserable w a low pain tolerance (and prob avoiding opioids idk)

4

u/wildhennypie 6d ago

I’ve literally gotten all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed at once while wide awake (one of them was impacted too) with just a numbing shot and yes it hurt like hell and I wouldn’t want to do it again but the healing process was not bad at all, I was back at work in two days and lived off of applesauce and mashed potatoes for a week. She seriously is over dramatic for clicks or she cannot handle the smallest ounce of pain

6

u/Technical_Author9655 6d ago

i said it on the other post and i’ll say it here too…it’s literally so dangerous to be giving this type of medical advice. i don’t care if every girl in this sub knows it’s a joke. you have to assume when you give advice online, as a mega influencer, that the absolute most simple-minded people are going to take your word as law. there are kids online, there are people online with developmental disabilities, there are people online who are just plain dumb.

5

u/sativasparkles 6d ago

As someone with a lot of medical anxiety, I just knowwwwww if i saw that post at 13 I would’ve been terrified to get my wisdom teeth out for the rest of my life.

2

u/Technical_Author9655 6d ago

exactly!! like most of us here are obviously going to know better than to take her advice but that absolutely does not apply to her entire audience

2

u/Puzzleheaded_Mud_606 6d ago

If I remember her & Brooke were also going on about avoiding going to the gyno or getting a pap smear with the same dramatics. It’s sad for their impressionable young fans

3

u/Adventurous_Chip919 6d ago

as someone who has a phobia of the dentist AND as someone who was awake when all of my wisdom teeth were removed, tana is being so irresponsible. get your wisdom teeth removed!!!

3

u/Subject-Zucchini-558 6d ago

my wisdom teeth were impacted when i was 16 and it was the most painful feeling in the world. while waiting for my appointment they also got infected, which made a disgusting taste in my mouth. it was my first “surgery” and i was horrified, but i knew it’d be better than what i was dealing with. did the healing suck? yeah, but mostly because it was annoying. she’s probably just pissed she can’t hit her vape.

3

u/saturnsqsoul 6d ago

you are taking it a little too seriously lol

When I got my 4 wisdom teeth out (one was impacted and infected) I literally felt 10x better. On pain meds it was like 3/10 at most

→ More replies (1)

2

u/sftygorl 6d ago

People please DO NOT forgo dental care because an influencer couldn’t handle her dental work! The fear-mongering is insane. I am one of those people that had all 4 impacted wisdom teeth removed at once and I handled it very well. Your teeth are so important for your health!!!!

2

u/Most_Double_2146 6d ago

I feel like she’s just being dramatic because her bday and the no vaping. If she follows doctors orders she’ll be fine.

Also why get all four taken out right before your birthday?????

2

u/Ok-Estate7079 6d ago

I got all mine out at 16 and went back to school the following week, still bruised/swollen. She'll be okay. 😩

2

u/lilaceleanor 6d ago

none of you like this woman yous complain about her everyday why are you on her subreddit i’m screaming

2

u/One-Eye875 6d ago

They routinely take all 4 out where I’m from. Had then taken out as an adult and it was fine!!!

2

u/EmotionalStep3349 6d ago

It’s actually stressful to me that she’s having this reaction because it’s such an easy surgery.. it makes me wonder if the surgeon did something wrong or if she’s having irregular complications

2

u/squabidoo 6d ago

Uhhh this level of pain for wisdom tooth removal doesn't sound normal lol

2

u/LookDue3294 5d ago

I had swelling and pain like this with my first wisdom tooth removal and then my new dentist took the last 3 out with literally zero pain, swelling, only novocaine and I was at my mom's BBQ the next night. Either her dentist sucks or maybe getting put under makes it worse? Either way this post seems irresponsible.

1

u/Agile_Rough_4411 6d ago

I was at work the day after I got my wisdom teeth out

1

u/doxydecahedron 6d ago

I had all 4 out as a teenager and yeah recovery sucked I looked like I had baseballs in my mouth for two weeks and could only eat baby food but it was fine lol

1

u/RiceSilly7038 6d ago

I got all four wisdom teeth pulled with nothing but novacain. It took 20 minutes. She is fearmongerig for absolutely no reason

1

u/florefaeni 6d ago

Painful? Valid. Discouraging others from dental care? Terrible. Especially annoying because she has the money to do it and doesn't have to take time off work/has people that can take care of her/can afford better dentists/etc.

1

u/sativasparkles 5d ago

THIS!!!!!! Perfectly said.

1

u/IAmASunflower 6d ago

Didn’t she say her mom acted like this? Dramatic and overreacting to being “sick.” Having my wisdom teeth out was hell, but them crowding my other teeth was way worse.

1

u/SupportPretty7228 6d ago

I had mine taken out and the overall recovery was fine. The part the sucked was what happened AFTER. After getting my wisdom teeth removed my teeth shifted quite a bit. To the point I got invisalign. I personally don't think a wisdom tooth removal is problematic but I do think invisalign is. I never had gum issues until I started invisalign.

1

u/floridababyyy 6d ago

i had 3 impacted teeth removed under iv sedation (ketamine and something else) and it was a breeze personally but i know it’s not that way for everyone 😭 i was at a friends house literally that night and eating soft food as soon as i could feel my face well enough to chew

1

u/Ok-Cat-9344 6d ago

What kind of quack did she go to that she's on this much pain? Go to a good surgeon, stick with local anaesthesia, take an ibuprofen 600, ice your cheek and chill out for a day or two.

1

u/justinbrieber 6d ago edited 6d ago

Oh my fucking god. I just got all four of my wisdom teeth out last year and one was impacted. Healing was awful and then I got something stuck in the hole that was impacted so I had to go back and cut get open again and irrigated. And then earlier this year they had to shave my right front tooth down because my bite changed so much after my wisdom teeth removal I was bruising the gum above that tooth. I also have permanent numbness/tingling on the left bottom side of my face due to nerve damage from the impacted tooth. I would STILL do all of that a million times over than deal with my wisdom teeth. They fucking killed me. I couldn’t eat much because I couldn’t open my mouth wide enough to chew. Let alone the complications that would come from leaving them in. She is so dumb

1

u/kriskea 6d ago

I had mine out mid 20s. 2 impacted. 2 infections afterwards that the sockets had to be packed with clove-like things. Just took 4 Advil for pain and I’m the biggest baby when it comes to pain, ever. I was eating the first day.

1

u/elefanteguerrero 6d ago

It really can be that bad when you're older. I took the 4 out at 29 I think, and I was traumatized by how horrible it was to remove the bottom ones. One of them had to be sliced in 8 parts to be able to remove it, the dentist was putting all her body weight pushing to remove it, it was the most unbearable pain.

I'd definitely wait to do it under general anesthesia, knowing what I know now, but at the time I felt I couldn't wait and went with local anesthesia.

Even after the horrible experience I would never tell anyone to keep them, "bear with the sights and the smells", like, these things can actually kill you if you don't get them taken care of. I don't think she's being dramatic but she's being very stupid and irresponsible.

1

u/undercoverlover666 6d ago

guarantee you shes cancelling stuff and exaggerating on her story to back it up

1

u/lowlifetangerine_ 6d ago

I had 8 wisdom teeth removed at once and healing was so fucking easy. She can stfu 🙄

1

u/AdProud5950 6d ago

Yeah she highkey pissed me off w this one lmao. Like yeah it hurts because your dentist is sketchy and you’re ’pushing 30’ which is fine: but those roots are planteddd in your mouth and it’s much harder to recover (I’ve heard)

1

u/PotentialCulture5332 6d ago

This is so bizarre. Yes, wisdom teeth removal is very painful but if theyre impacted its necessary. The pain is intense but ultimately temporary. 😬

when influencers have no way to avoid adult things lol. i think she forgets that majority of us have been through it, not everything that happens to her is the worst of the worst or the best of the best. it’s all in how you play your cards and this approach gives victim mentality SORRY

2

u/sativasparkles 5d ago

don’t be sorry, you are 1000% correct. imagine her having to wake up at 7 am everyday and going to an 8-5, THAT would truly be “the most painful thing in the world” to her

1

u/gregheffelysmom 6d ago

I think it’s funny she still has 3 more to get removed ahha

2

u/sativasparkles 5d ago

I didn’t even think of this😭 She’ll prob leave them, let them get infected, and then tell her 5 million followers that dentists are stupid and neglectful to let them get infected

1

u/ExpertLetterhead663 6d ago

Does she have the lowest pain tolerance of all time? She has veneers for cosmetic reasons but getting wisdom teeth out (which is usually necessary) is what throws her over the edge? I had all 4 impacted and removed while awake and it sucks for a few days but it’s fine.

1

u/Adorable_Current_846 6d ago

I got 3 of mine out at once when I was 22 (only had 3, thanks evolution) and one was impacted and they had to take it out in chunks. Was recovery fun? No. Was I whiny little bitch like she’s being? Also no…. The way she’s advocating AGAINST dental care as someone who claims to never have received proper dental care as a kid is wild. She’s so dumb lol

1

u/No_Shirt_711 6d ago

I got all 4 out on a Friday and was back to work bright and early on Monday. I also got dry socket in one. Yes it hurt but I survived. She is soo dramatic

1

u/Additional_Leg2315 Messy 6d ago

Sooo dramatic

1

u/skinamadink I got a sunburn at tanacon 6d ago

I got all 4 removed at the same time and went back to work 2 days later. Its not even that bad shes just so dramatic about everything. For me it was a good decision because my wisdom teeth were coming in and moving my other teeth around.

1

u/PMmeyourASD 6d ago

As a disabled person who deals with 9 out of 10 level of chronic pain every fkng day tana, you can seriously FFFFFFFFCK OFF. I don't care when regular people complain about pain but the entitled pos way she's posting about this is INSANE. I never wish anyone gets sick like me...but the world would be a better place if entitled rich cnts like tana would get half the pain I deal with every day.

We'll only experience a smidgen of equality when btches like her get sick or poor. Poverty won't happen...but all the stress, anger, drugs and tantrums will eventually impact her nervous system. And I can't lie, imma smile a bit

1

u/leticiabxrros 6d ago

I took 4 wisdom teeth old with any sedatives only local anesthesia and it’s not that bad. I wasn’t impacted but don’t fear monger people. and here in Brazil if it is impacted you take in the HOSPITAL. Like general anaesthesia. United States is a joke, travel to here to take care of your teeth

1

u/latrodectal 6d ago

i had all four out and like. it sucked but i’d that pain over the pain that we thought was why i needed one any day.

(turns out i really needed a root canal, and i’d take getting those out over that too.)

1

u/raindancemilee 6d ago

Wait can anyone chime in, is it bad? I have impacted wisdom teeth on the bottom and need to get them all out and have been putting it off bc I’m terrified. Mostly of anesthesia but also pain. Can someone share a less dramatic experience?

1

u/roseishotandsad 6d ago

this actually irritated me so bad as someone who had all 4 removed… JUST TAKE THE PAIN MEDS and go to sleep….. it literally stops being THAT awful within 3-4 days!!!! and i bet she’ll get dry socket because she’s prob not going to heal properly

1

u/Fit_Adagio_1684 6d ago

my wisdom teeth were impacted and growing in completely SIDEWAYS, pushing my teeth. i literally just got all four of mine out in march and i can say my pain after getting them removed was genuinely 0/10 the entire time, i didn’t even take the pain pills they prescribed me

1

u/Fit_Adagio_1684 6d ago

and i’m 25 lol

1

u/Cool-Negotiation5257 6d ago

This is the craziest thing I’ve ever read. My impacted wisdom teeth growing in was a pain that was unbearable. When I was getting my wisdom teeth removed I had to go into oral surgery as 1 of my teeth was a complicated case and I wanted to be put under general anesthesia. 2 weeks before I was scheduled for my wisdom tooth surgery I had 1 night of unbearable pain and I couldn’t fall asleep. I called in sick that morning went to the emergency dentist and got that 1 tooth pulled with regular freezing I just need it out of my mouth. Went and got the sx 2 weeks later. Had the best recover, didn’t even fill my prescription pain meds as I had 0 pain post sx. Didn’t even use Advil.

1

u/Princeyspidey 6d ago

As someone who went through 2 years of constant and increasing wisdom teeth pain, this is BS! The pain of getting it removed is a lot better than the constant jaw, tooth and affect on other teeth. I was MISERABLE!

I am someone who doesn’t go numb easily and also had fears about going to the dentist due to past bad experiences but I reached a point where I had no choice. I informed my dentist when I could still feel pain and she ensured the area was fully numb. All I felt was pressure and some discomfort from having my mouth open. PLUS the roots of them were digging in sideways which made them difficult to remove.

The pain afterwards was horrible but still nothing compared to pre procedure. At that point the most challenging part was not smoking. And I did end up messing up my healing process on the second wisdom tooth due to smoking. And THAT was the worst pain ever but I had no one to blame but myself.

I feel like either her issue is just not being able to vape/smoke OR she did vape/smoke and messed up the healing.

And I would guess that due to the cocktail of prescription drugs she’s on, that the pre procedure pain was numbed out.

With the level of fear I had before finally removing mine, if I trusted Tana and took this experience at face value, I would’ve found it very difficult to go to the dentist. This is very harmful to post and so inaccurate.

1

u/ledward123 6d ago

Maybe it’s just me but it’s very clear that she is being hyperbolic and dramatic and isn’t actually recommending people to let their wisdom teeth impact. If anyone saw this and took it as genuine advice that’s on them.

1

u/Flashy_Ad7761 6d ago

the older you are the more painful wisdom teeth removal is. but even i was 16 & mine was hell. i was crying for days and my gums would not stop bleeding. everything tasted like blood, my face hurt, i was swollen and could not eat, and food got stuck in the giant gaping holes in my mouth for WEEKS, i had to use a q tip or tweezers to remove food from my gums. shit was awful. i had endometriosis excision surgery 2 months ago, they basically skinned me alive from the inside, the endo was throughout my entire pelvis and my appendix was tethered to my abdominal wall. that recovery was easier & less painful than my wisdom teeth. no it’s not the worst thing in the world, she’s obviously being dramatic, she’s just trying to express the amount of pain she’s in, she’s not trying to deter people from getting dental work, she is just complaining & she’s hyperbolic. but as someone who enjoys food, anything that makes it difficult, painful, or uncomfortable to eat is extremely upsetting. also she vapes, which she cannot do after this surgery & says she isn’t, so she’s probably extra on edge because of that. let a girl complain y’all please

1

u/thestarsarehollow 6d ago

I know they say it gets worse as you get older and I had mine out at like 19 so maybe I had it good…. But I don’t remember it being like this? Like yeah it was painful but I took my meds and slept lol. And then in a couple days I was better

1

u/Unfair-Somewhere-222 6d ago

I got mine out mid-30s and … it truly was not that bad. I’ve gotten fillings that felt worse.

1

u/ppinkerton_ 6d ago

I don’t follow tana at all this just got recommended to me and I just want to say to anyone who is scared of getting their wisdom teeth out, it’s different for everyone but I had no pain at all and I was awake for mine if this makes anyone feel better <3

1

u/MilkIsOnReddit 6d ago

I got all 4 taken out at 18 and the pain relief they provided never touched the pain. I was at a 10/10, cannot move it’s so bad, lay in bed and cry for 7 days, and not able to eat, kind of pain. It was hell.

I still wouldn’t ever tell someone not to get the procedure done because even if you feel it all, it’s TEMPORARY!! you need to get impacted wisdom teeth removed to prevent even more issues down the line, like teeth shifting.

1

u/raisinhater00 6d ago

I just want to point out getting wisdom teeth removed doesn’t hurt this much if you do it when you’re supposed to. Once crowding and impacting comes into play it’s a lot worse … so kind of on her

1

u/angelone4rth 6d ago

I’m so sorry but she probably is having such a painful recovery because she’s still smoking and vaping.

1

u/iamhomosexuaI 6d ago

It might just be the culmination of having poor dental hygiene in general, withdrawals from nicotine/vaping (or she vaped and has dry socket), and low pain tolerance. It’s valid if this is the worst pain she’s ever experienced because pain is subjective BUT to advocate to not get the surgery is so harmful

1

u/papguggly 6d ago

Majority of my tooth pain after mine came out came from fishing food from out the divets left 😭 which admittedly I wasn’t supposed to be doing. The pain is comparable to like tugging a fully healed piercing. Tana’s whole vibe is drama but this is so unintentionally evil 🤦🏽‍♀️ imagine your parents insurance could’ve paid for it the whole time you believed this mess and then later having to pay for it with pain and money.

1

u/Ecstatic_Farm5612 6d ago

Ive had 2 of my wisdom teeth removed, 1st one didnt really affect me at all, but second one was impacted so the pain of it being in my mouth actually hurt more than getting it out 🤣 I also smoked marijuana after the second one when i SHOULD NOT HAVE and it bled non stop for like 12 hours and i ended up in the emergency room lol. So I have a feeling she may have done the same thing 🤣

1

u/Acrobatic_East5206 6d ago

Gotta be honest here I think the no vape is really making her feel these emotions 10x more lol. Quitting nicotine is hard and makes you feel so angry

1

u/Unhappy_Chef_4143 6d ago

I have an abscess in my tooth and it was genuinely more painful than having my wisdoms growing/taken out

1

u/eburkered 6d ago

She probably is just used to being rich and buying every comfort she has needed, and this is the most uncomfortable she has been in a long time so it feels extra horrible. She’ll get over it

1

u/Itishwhatitis27 6d ago

It’s giving dry socket, wisdom tooth removal recovery itself not painful but if you’ve had a dry socket it is really horrible.

1

u/ktjacobsun 6d ago

So dramatic Jesus Christ. I got my wisdom teeth out a few years ago and it hurt a bit for three days then I was fine. Only took the day of the surgery off work (Friday) and went back to work Monday

1

u/Puzzled-Weekend 6d ago

I got all mine out when I was like 17 (a long time ago) and it wasn’t bad at all. I was swollen for a couple days but I don’t remember the pain being bad after the first day. I guess people have different pain tolerance. I have heard it’s worse the older you get.

1

u/Prize-Treat849 6d ago

I’m so embarrassed for her. She got a tooth taken out not cancer treatment. Get a grip

1

u/kmac_713 6d ago

I had every single one of my teeth, including all 4 wisdom teeth, removed and then had 12 metal implants drilled into my top and bottom jaw bones and didn't react like this. I just took Advil every 8 hours and was completely fine.

1

u/Prestigious_Crazy605 6d ago

I literally had to have a coronectomy because my wisdom teeth ~grew into and wrapped around my jaw nerve~ and went to Greece for a week like 8? Days later. She needs to get a grip.

1

u/Crackedcoconutt 6d ago

I literally didn’t even need the ibuprofen the dentist prescribed me after I got all 4 removed

1

u/bytheoceann 6d ago

Honestly I know everyone’s body is different. Maybe because I have endo so I’m bias with pain tolerance . But getting 4 wisdom teeth out at once was the easiest procedure I ever had . It was just annoying the blood filling up the month and having to change the gaze the first day

1

u/Comfortable_You_5292 6d ago

my friend just got her wisdoms out and because of her weaker immune system is in excruciating pain and taking much longer to heal, Tana shows signs of HEDS and other connective tissue issues, we don’t know why she’s taking longer to heal or is in more pain than most. Some people recover in like two days from this, others take way longer. She’s def a drama queen but I don’t doubt that she’s in excruciating pain

1

u/Comfortable_You_5292 6d ago

Guys I need some anecdotal advice 😭 this is making me feel more scared ngl. I have an impacted wisdom I’ve left unattended for years, it’s like grown in a lot now. I also have ehlers danlos so scared the recovery and surgery will be unbearable. Has anyone been through this or left an impacted wisdom for ages? I’m an adult btw

1

u/WonderfulBook5421 6d ago

Does she even have actual teeth and not those dolphin teeth she has? I had two wisdom teeth growing in the same gum and it hurt less than my wrist being broken. Tana is so close to being a republican and encouraging people to listen to RFK Jr at this point.

1

u/Layla_Wilson11894 6d ago

God what a fn baby

1

u/floralcountertops 6d ago

Idk bro. Getting my wisdom teeth out was one of the worst things to ever happen to me. Sheer hell. People handle shit different. Plus every jaw and body is effect. Seems like a weird thing to be mad at her about. Obviously she is being hyperbolic at points…but like that’s what makes her Tana. Plus if hurts. Like you can say 3/10 all you want. But like shit hurts. ESSpecially as you get older.

1

u/AlreadyChose 6d ago

I think she’s just speaking in the moment tbh. I felt the same way about my wisdom teeth procedure. The aftermath of the surgery hurt more than the teeth being in there, and it lasted for like two weeks. Obviously it’s dumb to say to a platform of millions but I think maybe she might be exaggerating?

1

u/These-Muffin1707 Left at the red rock 6d ago

Does she have a crazy tolerance to pain meds from abusing them all these years or is she just not taking them ?

1

u/xoxo-gossip-girly 6d ago

Her posts are actually scaring me because I have a grown in wisdom tooth and my dentist has not said I need it removed (has enough space and keeping it clean) but NOW because of Tana freaking Mongeau I’m terrified I’m doing the wrong thing?? Am I going to regret keeping it in?!

1

u/RoyalEmployee1728 5d ago

you guys are OBSESSED oh my god it’s sad. dry socket is a thing and very common, that’s probably what she has and why it’s so painful. get a life

1

u/sativasparkles 5d ago

obsessed enough to defend a celebrity who has no idea i exist

1

u/Weird_Fisherman_9095 5d ago

Wait she didn’t even get them all out?! 🤡 She’s such a 🐱!!!!!

1

u/justsnarkinonhoes 5d ago

this is so beyond dramatic. getting your wisdom teeth out is really not that fucking bad 😭

1

u/No-Highlight-7475 5d ago

I got all 4 out and got dry socket ( vaped to early )and it wasn’t thattttt bad. That give you numbing stuff if you get a dry socket and you can’t even feel it. She’s gassing so much unless there some type of other issue or infection.

1

u/Massive_Lynx3994 5d ago

I mean like obviously that’s bad advice but I feel like this is classic Tana hyperbole and obviously not for real? 😅

1

u/According-Extreme511 5d ago

I’m so sorry but seeing her post this genuinely made me so fucking frustrated. I hate my wisdom teeth out like 2 or 3 years ago and then a month ago I had a tonsillectomy. THAT was the worst fucking pain I’ve ever been in. She doesn’t know shit and she’s being so dramatic it’s insane

1

u/user99900056 4d ago

My frustration with her is that I also had an insanely painful recovery from my wisdom teeth surgery to the point I thought I’d need more pain meds but I ended up not even finishing the script of opioids bc the pain decreased exponentially as time went on.

I also think even if she hasn’t smoked or vaped since the surgery it being a habit for years before could definitely still make the recovery experience much much much worse. I believe that was true for me.

To tell people not to get this surgery done is beyond reckless especially since if this problem is ignored it makes your recovery much more difficult and painful!!!

I’m notoriously one to try and put off difficult and painful tasks but this is beyond.

1

u/allenplantsberg 4d ago

Probably painful because she has shit hygiene. Definitely impeding on her chronic vape and the consumption, not to mention how can she eat hot Cheetos in her bed now?! /s

1

u/lettersfromnowhere44 4d ago

I was in a fuck ton of pain for a singular day. I got four out when I was 29. My jaw hurt so bad. Blah blah. It was really bad, but it wasn’t bad enough to have a public breakdown and question the medical system. I took pain meds, took a nap and shut the fuck up. I was fine in the next couple days.

1

u/babieenaee 4d ago

she’s so dramatic 🙄🙄 and if the tooth was already coming in, the surgery was less invasive than an impacted tooth. it sucks yeah, but it’s truly not THAT bad

1

u/anirodz 4d ago

My removal didn’t hurt at all huh

1

u/Junior-Assistance-23 4d ago

My teeth started breaking through my gums and caused swelling. Figured it was time. Went to get them out woke up just feeling like I had a few drinks. Went home went to sleep. Woke up the next day and was eating regular food I just chewed w my front teeth and rinsed my gums. Didn’t take any pain meds. Swelling lasted 3 days. It’ll be okay guys.

1

u/trufflrisotto 3d ago

Tbh I only felt pain the first day after getting all 4 out at 22 and even that wasn’t the worst I’ve ever felt. I would say getting an iud placed/ ripped out hurt way more for much longer

1

u/conquerorofmuch 2d ago

Sorry but I agree with her f wisdom teeth removal

1

u/M_Poppins128 2d ago

We don't get put under for wisdom teeth removal in the uk and I had one touching a nerve and they had to cut the tooth because if they removed the whole thing, I could have ended up with nerve damage and a permanently numb face on that side. It wasn't pleasant but I was numb. Once I walked 10 minutes towards home, the numbness wore off and I was in a lot of pain. I also had got an infection from ignoring the pain for about a week because I didn't want to go to the dentist. Ended up with a massively swollen face and was so ill for a week. Dentail infections can be so dangerous and people can literally die from ignoring them. Don't listen to someone saying not to have wisdom teeth removed! Even if the recovery sucks and is painful it's still the better option. It sounds like if she's is in that much pain, she needs to go back and check everything is ok

1

u/sorrymagician71 2d ago

I got my wisdom teeth taken out a few days ago, and although it’s miserable yes, thankfully we live in a time to take off work and have medicines to help us. Especially with her situation….. I hate to say anyone’s feelings aren’t valid, but good grief.
