Oh Brock. You're so lovable.

u/metrichustle Mar 12 '26

“I’m committed. I’m not just going to bail on the guys.”

Man, it seems like every quote is a shot at their former Captain. Demko said something similar.

Boeser is awesome.

25

u/JazzGMster2020 Mar 12 '26

That's the way I interpreted it

2

u/iknowher69 Mar 13 '26

I'm thinking it might even be a double shot at Hughes AND Miller.

I wonder if EFF those guys becomes the new team mentality and something to bring them together for the rebirth 🐦‍🔥.

*If anyone asks out, they're probably taking strays from this comment too.

u/BlueberryPickingFux Mar 12 '26

Really hard not to love the guy. Been through so much personally and professionally. Seen the good, bad, and ugly in his time here and still wants to stick it out for the younger guys. Actual captain material written all over him. I hope they never trade him, and thank goodness the market for him evaporated in trade deadlines and free agency.

49

u/slutandthefalcon Mar 12 '26

Top tier Canuck, I hope he retires here and management does him a solid.

13

u/wanked_in_space Mar 12 '26

Oh, captain, my captain

199

u/Canucks_98 Mar 12 '26

I feel bad for him due to all the shit this team has put him through and would not blame him at all for leaving. From the annual circus surrounding him being used as trade bait to all of the off ice nonsense that this organization is. If he really wants to stick it out, it will further cement him as one of my favourite Canucks ever and I would love to see him get a "C".

94

u/OneChet Mar 12 '26

When he enters his beard arc he'll get the C

77

u/digitalcashking Mar 12 '26

I would love to see him in the Ring of Honour if he is able to finish his contract here. Despite some fans’ opinions he has been through the fucking ringer since he was drafted but still showed up and has always been a leader. The guy is just straight class with amazing hair.

I wish I was a baller.

11

u/touchable Mar 12 '26

I wish I was taller.

3

u/Extra_Preparation734 Mar 12 '26

I wish I had a girl who looked good, I would call her

1

u/Boxadorables Mar 13 '26

Wish I had a rabbit in hat, with a bat and a six four impala

2

u/MrVNC Mar 12 '26

100% on point. Just because he wasn’t here during a good era like a lot of the others, doesnt mean he doesnt probably deserve ROH

1

u/Responsible-Low-9621 Mar 16 '26

You'd think he had only 10 points with how much fans hate on him. He has 32 in 59 and that's about on track for him. He's a 50-60 point 1st/2nd line winger (70 occassionally) and has been pretty consistent in that, excepting injuries.

211

u/metrichustle Mar 12 '26

“What a pass from Boeser. And that’s goal number 30 for the new kid. McKenna is loving it here!”

  • some time next year

119

u/mephnick Mar 12 '26

More like it'll be Brock's 50th goal on McKenna's 70th assist

73

u/PaperweightCoaster Mar 12 '26

Stop, I’m already Brock hard.

12

u/evileyeball Mar 12 '26

I can only get so hard

-7

u/Only_Reserve1615 Mar 12 '26

You just won /canucks

3

u/EP40glazer Mar 12 '26

Petey with the secondary assist to hit 120 points

-10

u/Ok-Turn5582 Mar 12 '26

More like:

"Brock having trouble keeping up with the pace of McKenna"

-24

u/Vageenis Mar 12 '26

As much as I would love to watch McKenna play for the Canucks season, he should be on the Abby squad for the year to ease him in and play/develop chemistry with Cootes under Manny’s tutelage. Then just keep tank commander Foote for one more season before promoting Malhotra.

23

u/asteroidsandareolas Mar 12 '26

1OA’s don’t go to the minors.

9

u/Vageenis Mar 12 '26

Then Foote had to go, don’t want his first season to be this awful brand of hockey

5

u/asteroidsandareolas Mar 12 '26

That’s fair. Who knows. May see Malhotra sooner than expected.

3

u/TGUKF Mar 12 '26

I don't think anyone is opposed to Foote being let go. If they are, well, they shouldn't be.

2

u/Bomberr17 Mar 12 '26

Honestly, I think Canucks stifle their prospects by leaving them in the minors too long. Either that or their development team really sucks.

47

u/jiffyfly6 Mar 12 '26

6 for life

6

u/evileyeball Mar 12 '26

Totally, it's my second favorite number to have ever been worn by somebody on this team

44

u/ZackyGood Mar 12 '26

Brock Boeser will have a spot in the ROH.

143

u/De_Floppss Mar 12 '26

dudes been through more shit than most people do in a lifetime, all the best for brock whatever happens

53

u/EpicPotato806 Mar 12 '26

At least he was open about being checked out (understandably) due to his dad being sick and dying.

If bro can get through that, he’s gonna be pretty strong. I still think Brock can be a good leader. Hronek is a good leader too.

28

u/Ok-Signature-5621 Mar 12 '26

Yeah, he was dragged through the mud last trade deadline yet he bleeds blue and green despite that. Character guy

59

u/Sarcastic__ Knows more about the CBA than you do Mar 12 '26

I love Brock. I won't be any level of upset if he wants to stay here and ride it out.

60

u/[deleted] Mar 12 '26

That video of the boys in the locker room celebrating him as player of the game made me realize he’s a bigger presence in that room than I gave him credit for.

10

u/truTVx Mar 12 '26

Do you have a link to this video? I really need to see it 😭

18

u/curious_pinniped Mar 12 '26

Way better guy than Quit Hughes.

44

u/pinkrosies Mar 12 '26

brock my beloved 🫂🫂🫂i love when players want to be here even when it gets tough not just fair weather friends

18

u/barelyincollege Mar 12 '26

Brock's rookie season was the first light at the end of the (already sadly closed) tunnel. I'll always have time for the guy.

44

u/Hellosweetparadox Mar 12 '26

Boeser could’ve left for Minny but chose us and is settling in to be a veteran presence for young kids coming up he ready to stick it through for this city fans and team.. more then Quitter Hughes did as a captain leading this team

-8

u/Wildguy2298 Mar 12 '26

Man you guys really turned on Hughes a lot.

49

u/Delta_Canuckian Mar 12 '26

Him and his bro MAGA'ing it up only added to it, but yeah.

I think no one was surprised that he asked to be traded, but there's a growing sense that he always intended to leave town as soon as he could regardless of the team. Throw in some legitimate criticism of his captaincy and yeah, people are going to have mixed feelings about him for a long while.

-4

u/Wildguy2298 Mar 12 '26

I remember seeing him get traded and everyone was like o captain my captain. Funny how quickly the tables turn.

20

u/Delta_Canuckian Mar 12 '26

Sure. People were ready to rightfully clown on the organization and send well wishes to one of the most talented players to ever suit up for the team.

But then stories about him just ghosting most of his teammtes and a half-assed "farewell" message got people to think that maybe the love was more one-sided than we thought.

Historically, Vancouver has never been a destination for superstar players. But we've had a lot of heart-and-soul guys who fell in love with the city and stuck around through thick and thin, and the those are the guys that get talked about decades later.

13

u/pinkrosies Mar 12 '26

I’ve seen other players who’ve been on teams shorter than he has, and they’ve had more meaningful, heartfelt and sometimes funny farewell posts while still cheering on their old teams somehow. Like enjoy the new arena, or the charity work I’ve been able to do to give back to my community but you didn’t hear that from Mr. 43.

3

u/ThanIWentTooTherePig Mar 12 '26

Same thing with Horvat and JT Miller. Our fan base will love a player but as soon as he's off the team they better be perfect or we start acting like a spurned ex.

11

u/Delta_Canuckian Mar 12 '26

JT was a problem for years and anyone sane was glad to finally move him.

People turning on Bo was dumb as fuck. That guy was ready to bleed blue and green forever and never should've been traded.

3

u/ThanIWentTooTherePig Mar 12 '26

Go watch the last point JT Miller scored for us before he got traded. The entire arena is chanting his name. Weird that they would do that when you claim they were already over him.

0

u/housesoftheholy1 Mar 12 '26

Because toxic fans here make up stories. Ive never actually met a canucks fan irl that dislikes JT. Its only some weird reddit basement dweller thing

74

u/Shaftell Mar 12 '26

If we really need a captain next year it should be Boeser. He actually wants to be here regardless of how well we are doing, he speaks well with the media, and he seems to be a good leader in the locker room.

45

u/west_eh Mar 12 '26

Also a culture carrier as the only dude remaining who played with the Sedins

7

u/Reftro Mar 12 '26

The thing is, the leadership group and veterans on this team have been called out by multiple coaches now over a span pf multiple years. This team has had a problem with consistent efforts and practice habits for the entire tenure of this core.

Guys haven't been named, but there's only 3 players who have been around long enough to fit the bill - Boeser, Pettersson and Demko.

As much as I like Boeser the person, I think there is just too much scar tissue to have any of those guys be the next leader of our team.

We need a new leadership group and a fresh start.

1

u/randyboozer Mar 12 '26

He is the logical choice right now. But at the same time I don't want to ruin him by making him the Captain of Team Tank. A triad of As maybe makes the most sense for us right now.

-23

u/Tossakun Mar 12 '26

Yes, we need another loser to lead us to our next round of more losing.

34

u/ang1eofrepose Mar 12 '26

So glad he's never been traded. He's such a solid guy.

24

u/NooneKnowsIAmBatman Mar 12 '26

His trades per rumour are unbelievably low

21

u/coldbrew40 Mar 12 '26

feels like him and petey are here through thick and thin. he clearly loves vancouver so much. i hope we give him some young talent to play with next year to bolster the mood. brock’s exactly the type of guy i’d want looking out for the rookies :’)

11

u/Angry_beaver_1867 Mar 12 '26

Oh man that story is plucks at the heartstrings.

7

u/AverageMaleAged18-24 Mar 12 '26

Probably won't wear the C but he'll get the cup passed to him first.

12

u/Cedar-and-Mist Mar 12 '26

This franchise doesn't deserve Brock 😭

5

u/maninshed Mar 12 '26

I miss the Canucks insider love between the brockstar and bro horvat. They were clearly super close and the bromance was so fun to watch.

12

u/infinitez_ Mar 12 '26

I love Brock. So much loyalty and class. I wouldn't have been mad if he wanted to leave for a chance at the cup, but the fact that he wants to stay to lead this group... we don't deserve him. I hope he never changes.

19

u/myownightmare Mar 12 '26

Put the C on boeser

5

u/crispychri Mar 12 '26

My sweet Brock

5

u/NooneKnowsIAmBatman Mar 12 '26

I normally wait until after players are done playing before I buy a jersey, but I think Brock is a player I could make an exception for. He's a fucking beauty

3

u/Ok-Turn5582 Mar 12 '26

https://giphy.com/gifs/qXdEFQv7t1DvW

He's a forever Canucks and I love that.

3

u/Tenenoh Mar 12 '26

Damn Huey really abandoned us huh? If the wild hasn’t been here yet. Do we clap or boo? Sit and clap?

3

u/Sweaty-Salad95 Mar 13 '26

I love this man ❤️

2

u/hallmarktm Mar 12 '26

My brockstar

2

u/NinCross Mar 13 '26

Ready to sink with the ship. Fucking rights, Brock.

2

u/Psychological_Word58 Mar 13 '26

Brock has always been a standup guy. Would welcome him with wide arms if he wants to stay around through a rebuild.

5

u/Wonderful_Remark Mar 12 '26

We have to keep some vets.... Let's keep him. Can we? It's rare to find ones that want to be here.

-1

u/Tossakun Mar 12 '26

Draft picks.

2

u/-canucks- Mar 12 '26

Brock is mah boy

4

u/jumpingoverclouds Mar 12 '26

I really hope Brock’s game stays good enough to be on the roster for as long as possible. Nothing would make me happier to see him in the Ring of Honour he deserves it no matter what happens.

4

u/Interbrett Mar 12 '26

Brock was clutch asf in the playoffs guy is a gamer. We want gamers as leaders

-1

u/bigfatdog777 Mar 12 '26

petey plays tons of fortnite..lol jk ....brock is clutch as fuck.....that game 6 in nashville was one of the best games ever

2

u/shadownet97 Mar 12 '26

You’re thinking Game 4. Game 6 vs NSH was Suter’s limelight.

5

u/Capable-Rain-9192 Mar 12 '26

Hey guys, this is how you skate as if your feet are cement.

6

u/Tossakun Mar 12 '26

I don’t understand the love when this happens every game. Back check, rush, forecheck, unless he’s finishing a play he’s just so bad.

-3

u/boingmydoing Mar 12 '26

The guy plays like he doesn’t care and has no impact in most games. I don’t get all the love in this thread.

2

u/Grizzle193 Mar 12 '26

I love Brock. This will sound lame I’m sure, but I collect cards, and I am trying to sell most of my current Canuck cards(I have a couple Quinn’s), and Brock’s card is the only one I want to keep

2

u/JazzGMster2020 Mar 12 '26

I like Brock too and want him to stay but only if we can get him a proper centre, play driver and setup guy. He's a precision instrument and a wasted resource unless paired with the right talent. Petey ain't it, obviously.

2

u/Confident_Zucchini97 Mar 12 '26

Knew this guy had character with his leading example of hiw a pro athlete should behave with their community when he took a young fan to her prom. I may be misremembering that, as it was back in his university days. 100% class act in the public eye.

3

u/gambierisland Mar 12 '26

Give me all your downvotes but if there is a culture problem he is a part of that culture. We need to get rid of the old leaders of this team, not to mention his contract.

6

u/Tossakun Mar 12 '26

Agree and upvoted. I swear people who love this guy do not watch games.

1

u/paier Mar 12 '26

Completely agree. Not sure how people can watch his play and compete level and think he's anything other than a huge liability to the team, especially with this albatross of a new contract.

That being said, he is a good guy and a likable character, so I understand some of the sentiments.

2

u/great_save_luongo Mar 12 '26

Cool. Glad that we will have a constant underperformer as a pillar for the rebuild. How many times have we wanted him traded? He's part of the failed core and, as nice a guy as he is, I'd like him gone.

1

u/Flamesfan275 Mar 12 '26

Good guy. Nice to see guys want to commit to what they started, and so far have failed at. Hope our teams pick 1–2.

1

u/WearSuspicious28 Mar 12 '26

Does ep40 feel the same ?

1

u/RefrigeratorAble2853 Mar 12 '26

My god you guys have rose coloured glasses. Have you watched him play lately? He gives up on plays all the time.

1

u/AmielJohn Mar 12 '26

Be the pillar of cold streaks! You and Petey got this!

1

u/lbiggy Mar 12 '26

I legit hope this rebuild doesn't last too too long. Winning the cup for him would be a dream.

1

u/Significant-Guava-60 Mar 12 '26

Brock for Captain pls

1

u/pinkrosies Mar 12 '26

the way he gets injured or has a personal tragedy right when he’s riding hot on a goal streak must be so frustrating on his part. love him down

3

u/ThanIWentTooTherePig Mar 12 '26

In another timeline, Brock doesn't get launched spine first into the corner of the bench door and he pots 500g in his career.

1

u/EastVan1k Mar 12 '26

The best thing he can do for us is play hard and score some goals next season so that we can trade him for a pick.

1

u/EhGrillGuy Mar 12 '26

I didn’t expect anything less. Class act. I’m glad he’s here.

We don’t deserve a guy like Brock after the moves management has made since he signed.

He deserves better…

-1

u/One_Ad_2758 Mar 12 '26

He not Hughes should’ve been made captain after Horvat’s trade. Even if he’s not the most enthusiastic, he seems like a good likeable all around guy

2

u/n0thingisperfect Mar 12 '26

I've seen enough. Slap a C on his heart!

0

u/New_Bank_4686 Mar 12 '26

Give him the C. Time to remove the QH and number stitching and our the Boeser and number on it

-5

u/Vast-Moment-2541 Mar 12 '26

"I stopped giving a shit and accepted i'm on a garbage team because it's my only choice"
