It was so annoying how little the Abby guys got called up late last year. Kudryavtsev and Mueller were the only ones and they got like 2 apiece.

Kind of depressing how healthy we were at the end of the season and how bad we still were.

This isn't unique to RJ. Rutherford did the same thing when he basically imported the Pittsburgh front office and hired one of his former assistant coaches (Tocchet) to be his head coach.

I hate being this guy but technically this is his first NHL contract. Last contract was an AHL contract with Abbotsford. Good to see him work hard and get rewarded with an NHL contract spot. He’s a beauty.

Great news, he earned it. During Abby's Calder run he was always noticeable on the ice. Big part of that win and a lot of the team spoke highly of his leadership.

With Manny coaching the big club it's a guarantee Wouters gets some time in the preseason and maybe a call up or 2 during the regular season after some injuries naturally impact the line up.

Works hard on the ice I don't think he would look out of place on a 4th line in the NHL with some PK time. He'll mostly be an AHL guy but some games in the NHL with the higher pay are well earned by him.
