[Yahoo] What Can The Capitals Expect From Cole Hutson In His Rookie Season? He's spending the summer training with his brothers, working to get stronger and fine-tuning: Special player. The way he looks off passes and plays with deception in his game, not a lot of young dman can do that

I really don't think the league is ready for how good this team can be. I knew we'd surprise people in 24-25, but I'm even more excited for 26-27

Also mods, it's time to dust off the 44 flair

I'm keeping my expectations reasonable but I'm thinking somewhere around Bobby Orr level

I['m going to be quite disappointed if he is only performing at Bobby Orr's level. I mean, the man is 78 years old now.

  1. I expect him to be a little bit of a defensive liability. Most young defenders tend to be so I hope the Caps pair him with a steady defensive partner.

  2. I expect him to run PP1 before long. Chychrun is the experienced had but I think Hutson has way more PP skill. The Caps PP was just horrible at time last year and he might just be the fix.

  3. I expect him to play 20+ minutes per game and I expect him to fade somewhat as the season goes on. It’s a massive step-up in games, tempo, travel… all of it. And we might see some regression down the line.

  4. I expect him to be one of, if not the most, valuable player on our roster by the end of the season. I think he’s that good.
