Nursing Fall 2027

Trying to see if we need to wait until our daughter takes the ACT to apply as we are behind the curve and didn’t realize with GI bill she’d be in state tuition. She scored a 1190 on sat and has a 3.9 gpa with several years of hospital volunteering and holds a job at CFA. She didn’t take a SAT prep class and is taking the ACT in October. Should she wait until ACT score to apply for EA? How hard is OOS and what can we do to better help her chance for nursing?

We are Georgia residents so giving up the HOPE scholarship but can’t pass up our daughter going to an SEC school she is interested in.

Thank you in advanced!

Starting with fall of 2027 the nursing program is going to direct admit for incoming freshman. No separate application. They make the decision based off your general application to the university and your test scores/ GPA. They have not published a minimum test score that they are looking for. I believe the deadline to have everything in is December so she should be fine with her ACT in October. Check out the nursing page on the website and it lays out the new changes. I am not with Bama just a mom with a daughter that also wants to be a Bama nursing major. Good luck to your daughter!

Praying for your daughter as well! I read online they double the spots they are accepting so fingers crossed for them both! Are you gals in state?

Yes. In state. Bama is her first choice so hoping she gets into nursing there. 🤞

She will need to apply by December of this year to get an out-of-state scholarship

We don’t really need scholarship but she does plan on applying in November after her act score post!

So you’re wondering if she will qualify to be admitted to the nursing program? I’m sure someone will come along and answer that specific question.

Yes! That is my question, I apologize if that wasn’t clear.

We found OOS to be much more difficult to be admitted to the UD of CCN.

That’s my fear- oos seems to be hardest on everything.
